So, this topic has been discussed time and time again, but why not yet another discussion.
Lets say...a really awesome director decided to make a movie of Hellsing. Maybe a trilogy or something.
Yeah, sure, it won't happen in a million years. Yeah, sure, a live action movie wouldn't do it justice...but come now...If it COULD do Hellsing justice... Who would your dream cast be? If anyone could portray the characters...who?
Can you think of any actors worthy to play such characters? Or you do really think that they're just too over the top for any actors to portray realisticly? (*cough* Anderson and Alucard *cough*)
Oh, and...Who would direct it? I have about three directors who I think could do it...(I'd like the idea of either Tim Burton...M. Night Shyamalan...or Quentin Tarantino. My, Quentin would have alot of fun if he got ahold of Hellsing...)
Anyway, I want your opinions guys!
3nodding (Personally, I think Alan Rickman would be an awesome Walter. >.< )
P.S. I'm working on a spiffy little trailer type Hellsing AMV, let me know if you want to see it when its done. xD

iStoleYurVamps DAVID BOWIE AS ALUCARD DO IT NOW In all honesty, I couldn't tell if that comment was serious or sarcastic. Ohh God. ...If I could hop in a time machine and cast a much younger David Bowie as Alucard, I swear I'd do it.

worship for bowie, but not as alucard.
sadly, will never happen. mostly 'cause hellsing is better off as an anime and never live-action. the actors would be impossible to cast, the gory glory would be edited down to almost nil to clear american censors, and the final product would "never be as good as the original" to the fans.
tarantino would have fun with it, but i'm not sure even he could handle the task of Hellsing. he'd definately leave in the capri-sun bloodpack scene though, that much i'm sure of.
i've heard colin farrell suggested for anderson, which might work, and even johnny depp as alucard, but as much as i love JD as an actor, there's no way in hell he can pull off alucard, and i'd prolly shoot him myself if he tried.
now johnny as pip would be interesting..... 3nodding
alan rickman would be.... um, scary as walter. confused
and if ANYONE suggests hayden christensen as alucard, i'll hunt you down myself. the boy cannot act. period. he sucks, you know it. all of hollywood knows it. end transmission. stare
sorry, bad memories of a "vadercard" conversation had while trying to fancast with some people a while ago.

Ohh God. ...If I could hop in a time machine and cast a much younger David Bowie as Alucard, I swear I'd do it. Jarethcard? Edit: THE BULGE!!!! xDDD To Michigami: Johnny Depp....Ueeegghh....Yeah. Johnny can portray insanity pretty well....Johnny can be sexy...Johnny is amazingly talanted but jeez, I hate even the thought of him as Alucard. Honestly, I never thought of Johnny as PIp though, that I think he could do very well. Alan Rickman would make a fine Walter, whadaya mean? xD Alan can portray a wonderfully calm english gentleman. whee Plus he's the right age and he portray flawless...EVIL... The real question is...who could be the young evil Walter... Well, I dunno about how much would be edited...theres always the extreme unrated version that'd come out on DVD! rofl I heard someone suggest Gerard Butler as Anderson and I was like..."THIS....IS....ISCARIOT!?.." O_o Still, Gerard does have a very nice accent and he's a rather good actor, I dunno, he might look/sound okay as Anderson... I know he could probably manage the role. =/

The real question is...who could be the young evil Walter... but if they cast him, people would know immediately that he's gonna end up a bad guy! (typecasting is sad crying ) they'd have to hire a random bishonen bodybuilder to play captain though. heh, he wouldn't even have to remember any lines xd personally i'd love to see the guy who played Ra in the stargate movies as shro, but that may just be me wanting to see him in cat ears. twisted and rickman is NOT flawless evil... billy zane is flawless evil... well, at least his voice is. (mmmmmmmmmm, Ansem. twisted ) *coughs* yeah, enough of that... ooh, there's an idea. billy zane as alucard? *thinks* er, maybe not. heh, before anyone else suggests it, you just know some idiot in hollywood would want cameron diaz as seras. WE wouldn't, but they prolly would. woo, caffine before bed is bad for you. whee

I agree that Alan Rickman would be a splendid Walter, and I would love to see Ralph Finnes don the uniform again and play Captain. And Crispin Glover...He could also make a very sinister Walter, or even a good Dok. I doubt he could pull it off, but Adrien Brody would make an interesting Alucard (maybe).

Well, you know, linking back to this thread... http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=8272531Adrien would physically be an awesome Alucard, I just dunno if he could play the character, at least the way I feel Alucard would have to be portrayed......but he'd certainly have an interesting take on it. 3nodding Hmmm....I can't exactly see Ralph Fiennes as The Captain... But he'd just HAVE to be in it anyway, because he'd have to be a nazi. whee I dunno which one, but its meant to be. xD And finally...who's Crispin Glover again? (I recognize the name, I know I do... xD I can't place it!! )

Oingo This topic seems to come up a lot. XD We were talking about it on my Hellsing Otakon 2008 board recently too. http://onewhospinsflags.deviantart.com/art/Casting-for-Alucard-11160611 I actually have that in my favorites. xD You know, I noticed her little note about those other casting theories...so now I'll bring up... Christian Bale. I never thought about him because to me he just doesn't look like an Alucard type... but today I relized... Oh crap! He could pull off a strong and awesome Alucard voice!! I love Christians creepy angry voice. It'd be perfect for Alucard. >.< Aaand...I also suddenly relized the diversity with his roles. *cough* Holy Anorexia, did you see The Machinist? O.O *cough*

Hmmm, now that I think about it, Tim Burton wouldn't be a bad director for a Hellsing movie. Think of the swirls! Tim Burton loves using swirls in his movies, and Rip and Blood!Seras and Alutard all have swirls... <3

That's exactly what I was thinking when I mentioned him...shadows and swirls! >.< Tim also likes splattering blood all over everything when he gets the chance. 3nodding And, and, and...maybe then Danny Elfman would do the musical score! That would be...amazing... whee
