The Story
Long ago there lived a prince who was placed under a curse. Due to his selfish nature an enchantress placed him and his entire castle under a spell. His inward appearance was brought to the service turning the man into a hiddeous beast. In order to break the spell this beast would have to learn to love and be loved in return. Though he had little hope that anyone could learn to love a beast he managed to break the spell thanks to a beautiful young woman who knew not to judge a book by it's cover.
However the village below began to persecute the prince. When young women started to disappear in the woods surrounding the castle they claimed he was returning to his true form to feast on their flesh. On a dark winter night they stormed the castle. Though the servants held out as best they could the villagers made it to the West Wing where the young couple slept and murdered the prince. They left the young woman to mourn alone however soon afterwards the enchantress who had once turned the prince into a beast returned. The young woman begged her to bring the prince back to life but this was beyond her abilities. Instead the enchantress offered to cast another spell in return for the stem of a rose long since dead.
The young maiden agreed and took the rose stem from under a glass bell, placing it in the beautiful enchantress's palm. Using the stem a wand she cast a spell over the forest to keep all who wished to cause her harm away. Anyone trying desperately to reach the castle would do naught but run in circles until they died. However anyone who had experienced great sorrow would find their way to her doors and they did. One after another they showed up and the young woman welcomed them graciously. Giving the abandoned women shelter and love helped her to appreciate life once again. And so the rumors spread about the Wayward Home For Princesses.
