Which would you prefer, and why? And to be specific, I'm speaking of the new Mustangs, and the 90's Camaros. But don't let me restrict you.
I prefer Camaros, that maybe because my family has owned one before, but I've just never really liked the new Camaros.
Got the idea from a friends dad, who was looking to buy either a new Mustang, or one of the 90s Camaros, and decided on the Camaro because of the better price, and speed. (V6, not GT Mustang.)

I've always prefered the Camaro to the Mustang. Mainly because of the style. Camaros seem to have better looks, smoother curves and a more aerodynamic frame. Mustangs have a better suspension and traction, but I've always had to learn to handle the car that I have. Not as good suspension and traction shouldn't be much of a problem if you know how to handle your car. Camaros usually have more power and better aftermarket parts. Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I personally prefer Camaro's, but that's just me. I've never really been a big fan of anything Ford.
Honestly though, I don't really care much for either of them. As far as I'm concerned, the last good looking Camaro was made in 1969 (okay, some of the 70's ones are kinda nice I guess). Maybe I'm crazy, but I think when they rounded the Camaro off in the late 90's it just kinda...ruined it. Camaro's used to have big square edged fronts and all that, and it made them look mean. The late 90's ones just look too tame...too streamlined. Which is great if you're racing and need every edge you can get, but for street driving, eh, they just look too round.
The late 80's and very early 90's camaros are nice though, very edgy.

In my family we've always had a fondness for Chevys and Camaro is no exception. I don't doubt that certain Mustangs are very capable, your 5.0L's, Shelbys, Roushes, Saleens, and of course Cobras, but Chevys are highly bred for performance especially with consideration to Corvettes. Any of you who have been behind the wheel of a Chevy SS or Z car understand what it means to perform. One only needs to look at the facts, was Mustang the official car of the International Race of Champions, not to mention a stiff competitor for Porsche in the same race? Nope. Camaro was also a 2-time champ as a V8 Supercar in the Australian Touring Championship. They've even had a devoted following overseas in a Swedish Cup Series for over 30 years! It's Camaro hands down. There's an old saying in my family going by 3 things, "Off-the-line grunt only goes so far, displacement isn't everything, and you can always go further than a quarter mile in good Chevy" I don't believe they'll ever die. Even with GM facing the economic decline, fans are far from discontinuing their enjoyment of Camaros or any other road-worthy Chevy on a daily basis. smile
