So, I work at Fry's Electronics. But is it just me or do people not want to believe how stupid they are? I swear we get some of the most pea-brained customers in there. Anyway, this will be my rant of stupid people who come into Fry's.. wink
Now, i'm not trying say i'm the smartest apple in the bunch, but when I go into a store I want to know what i'm buying or at least have some idea as to what's going on. Or i'll admit to them that I have no idea what the ******** i'm doing. And I mean it's many different problems, for example a customer comes up to me about Video Cards and goes something along the lines of this:
"Customer: Do you guys carry the All-In-Wonder? Me: No sir, i'm sorry but ATI discontinued the creation of the All-In-Wonder. If you want something like the All-In-Wonder you're going to have to buy a TV Tuner. Customer: They didn't stop the creation of it, why would they do that? It's a great product. All I want to do is watch Cable TV on my computer. Me: I've been to ATI's website recently, they discontinued it......... A friend walks up at this time: You want something that will let you watch Cable TV and be inside of the computer? Customer: Yes. Friend: Yeah, that's only the TV Tuner we do not carry All-In-Wonder. Customer: Well, do you guys carry any video card that can do anything like the All-In-Wonder Me: No sir, we do not. Like I said, you'll have to use a TV Tuner. Customer: Well, what about the 2900? That has All-In-Wonder technology do you carry that? Me: No sir, the 2900 doesn't have the All-In-Wonder technology, and we do not carry the 2900 the latest card we have from ATI that we just recieved yesterday was the 2600 XT by Diamond. Customer: You guys carry the 2900, I saw it over there. *Points northward* I remember looking at it thinking I should buy it... *I look at my friend puzzled and think for a second* Me: No sir, we don't carry the 2900. The only place that we have other ATI cards are at the endcap and nothing is higher than the 2400 Pro over there *points Southwest* I know, because I take care of all of the video cards. Customer: But I saw them over there *points northward again* Me: Alright, we'll check the system, but I know we don't carry it. *Goes to Fry's website to find out the code to pull it up in the POS system. Within a few seconds nothing comes up higher than the 2600 XT. Which shows he doesn't know what he's talking about* Me: Fry's website doesn't even have the 2900 and they receieve everything months in advanced before we do. Customer: Oh...well i'll keep looking"
After that and may other conversations...... I knew what i've been thinking for a long time was true.... People are just stupid.... I don't mind the people who don't know what they're talking about, but at least they admit they don't know what they're talking about.

*I'm sitting in a corner organizing blank media* Customer: I need to know where ram is! *I think to myself.....calm the hell down.. and I proceed to turn around* Me: Yes, our RAM is in the components department. *I turn around and point at components and try to say go to the sign when he interupts what i'm trying to do and says* Customer: Well, I need to know where the components department is. I don't know my way around this store! I just want to know where the ram is buddy. *I turn and look at the customer with a pissed off look.* Me: Components, that sign.. *and I walk away*
So, I turn to my friend and say loudly. "If some people want to be paitent. I can tell them where something is!!"
I'll have a million of them after black friday... 3nodding
