It has been nearly three months since the Academy suffered the inner turmoil that left a student dead and several still missing. Life for the students had returned to a certain level of normality, or as normal as it possibly could be in such an eclectic atmosphere. Those who were harmed and hospitalized have either fully recovered or are soon on their way to a clean bill of health once more. However, the time of peace is about to come to an end. There is a new threat to the safety of Peristal itself, and those at the Academy shall be called upon to aid in defending the city. At this vital stage, the success of either side depends on the loyalty and strength of its people, and how they can use the technology and magic available to them to their advantage. Life or death are not the only outcomes to be considered; could an act like this create an excuse to begin the war anew, even after an accord has been attained? Only time will tell...

Rules Pretty much, the rules for this particular rp are the same for the others, but just for the sake of posting something here, here are the rules: I. First, and foremost...enjoy yourself and have fun. I mean, that is what we're here for, correct? II. Godmoding is only allowed to the moderators (if the occasion calls for it) III. Remember: Literate writing and enough of it to get the point across...no need to overdo it, but creativity is always welcome. IV. There is going to be the option of either playing a faculty member, or a student. Either way, there is a set number for each category, so when you fill out a character sheet, please PM it to me so that it can be approved before I add it and you can post.

Character List: STUDENTS Name: Ophelia Braegyn
Nickname: Phel

Weapons: Ophelia carries three weapons, two of which are obvious at first glance; these are her twin katana. What makes these katana special is that they are each possessed by a spirit, one of her mother and the other her father, although she does not remember them as such. Gerhn, at her left, has the special ability to separate into three sections connected by chain to extend her reach while attacking; Vea, at her right, glows red when an enemy is nearby, or more specifically when there is someone near her that plans on attacking her, and has a serated right side, used to shear flesh from bones. Ophelia's not so obvious weapon is the stuffed rabbit she carries with her. This toy lovingly named "Charlie" is the only other item she still has from her past. He is a one eyed, frayed-eared, sad looking thing that has seen many years of wear and tear though Ophelia refuses to get rid of him. Charlie is, however, more than meets the eye; upon Ophelia's command or in a dire situation, Charlie can grow to approximately 20 times his original size (it is possible for him to get much larger, but the bigger he is the more energy it takes out of her) and becomes as solid as stone. When in this larger state, Charlie takes on his own personality and essentially has a mind of his own, doing whatever is necessary to protect Ophelia for as long as he can.
Brief Bio: When Ophelia was much younger, her parents lived with her in Damasses. They were once rather adventurous, and had only decided to settle down once her mother became pregnant with her. It was their hopes that they could protect Ophelia from the way of life they once had, and to raise her to be someone virtuous. Unfortunately, their dreams were shot down on a cold, rainy night as they were heading back home after a ride in the countryside. A group of bandits led by an assassin attacked their party, killing both of her parents as they tried to protect her; the assassin had been sent to murder her parents because of a debt they had not paid since they gave up their past life. The man had not known they had a daughter, and while inspecting their carriage for loot, found her huddled in a corner with Charlie. This particular assassin had a soft spot for children, so he vowed to raise her as penance for his deed. Ophelia suffers from serious bouts of amnesia and insomnia as a side effect of loosing her parents; her insomnia also has to do with her terrible fear of small, dark spaces. Some people also think that she is completely insane as she is often found muttering nonsensical things to herself and things no one else can see. Ophelia is to spend three years in the Academy while her guardian goes on an extended mission, as he saw it the best place for her to be trained in his absence.
Appearance: Ophelia, at 5'0", is comparatively small for her age. It is perhaps because of her nature and mindset that she is seen as being smaller than she actually is. Her features, however, make up for any normality she might have had. Her hair and eyes are both blue, though her hair is more of a navy blue and her eyes are a bright turquoise; her hair is always disheveled, like she has permanent bed-head though without the tangling, and her eyes have identical marks right below her iris: a group of small silver dots that are only discernable close up, whereas from any other distance the grouping just looks like glass as though her eyes were that of a doll. Perhaps the most peculiar thing about her appearance is the fact that her entire left arm is fake. Weapons: Apart from a standard, nothing special katana, Jun's weapons of choice are two bladed discs with a handle in the center and very small metal balls. He carries a bag of these balls that he can, when on a mission that needs to be done discretely, put into the victim by way of food or drink and later pull them out from the outside with his magic, no matter where in the body they are located.
Brief Bio: Only three things are well known about Juneaux's past. First, he was born in Peristal to a baker and a gambler with horrible luck and control. His mother tried her best to both ignore her husband's problem and raise her son to make something of himself; his father had nothing for him but regret and abuse, because to him Jun was nothing but a waste of space and money. Jun's mother was often subject to the same abuse as Jun, until Jun got old enough to defend her. During their last fight, Jun overpowered his father and tossed him out of a third story window, ending 13 years of mistreatment. Second, Jun was born with a rare defect that does two unrelated things. Jun is apt to falling asleep randomly, similarly to the effects of narcolepsy. Also, Jun's blood does not clot normally when he gets hurt, as it is thinner due partially to an infection in his bone marrow. He has come to the realization that he will most likely die at a young age, and therefore accepts death welcomingly. Third, the series of events in which Jun lost his eye are not well known. What is certain is that one of the men Jun's father had wronged during his lifetime attacked Jun to get revenge, and since Jun does not usually like to talk about his eye, the details are left to speculation and gossip. Jun entered the Academy under the wishes of his mother, who hoped the academy could do more for him than she ever could.
Appearance: Reaching in at almost 6 feet tall, Jun is relatively thin for his height. His long legs make up most of his height, and he seems fit to be a runner despite never being able to due to his birth defect. That and he doesn't tend to run for or from any occasion: he is the poster boy for laziness. His hair, a light blonde, barely brushes his neck and is kept that short to keep it low maintenance. He isn't a morning person, so the less the effort the better. Two scars running from the bridge of the nose below the eyes make him look at least ten years older. Jun's eyes, at least the left one, are an olive-like color; his right eye was lost when he was younger, thus he wears a white, square eye patch all the time. Brief Bio: In Gallaudet's home town, a little no named village outside of Yaroh, it was rare that any children would be born with magical abilities. At birth, every child was branded with a number and carefully examined in hopes that even one of the newborns would grow to show signs of magic. In fifty years, Gallaudet was the only child that possessed what they were looking for. Due to this, she was heavily sheltered throughout the first half of her life as they tried to mold her to their whim. She was taught by the best the city had to offer; unfortunately, their best was far too inadequate to the natural level of power she contained. Thus, after twelve years of what could be considered boredom, she ran away from her home to look for a better teacher. As she got older and more refined, she earned her nickname as a legionnaire for a rich noble that, in return for her services, helped her with her studies. Not too long after she turned twenty, she again became bored with her lifestyle, and instead settled down in Peristal where she now resides as the head teacher of the weapons and training department and militant advisor at the academy.
Appearance: Gallaudet stands a good five feet seven inches. Her hair, a vibrant shade of reddish-blonde, is shoulder length though is often pulled back in a tight bun. Her eyes are a shade of orange that resembles amber, just a tad bit lighter. Her gaze is usually harsh and calculating, though there are certain things that can change her disposition. She is apt to wear a hakama and a high collared no sleeve shirt, both in black; the collar hides the numbers on the back of her neck. Also, she walks with a distinct limp in her left leg, though unless travelling does not need a crutch.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name: Devlin Reinhard

Weapons: Devlin carries three main weapons on his person and favors them in the following order: his split-blade katana (Niwaruiki) that inflicts a deep twin slash that prevents proper healing or even stitching. No, he is not a nice man. He also carries Niwaruiki's twin, the serrated katana. (I don't have a name for this one yet. Please be patient with me!) It has one blade, but it is poisoned and inflicts a shallow, but nasty and painful cut. The last is his blacksnake, which he uses only if he has to. Or if Ophelia is tapping her pencil on the desk. Then he'll snap her pencil from the front of the classroom.
Brief Bio: Devlin was born into a family of prominent mages, but was unfortunate enough to be suspected of demonic possession. He was cast out at age 13 and was forced to make his way in the world by any means possible. In his family's defense, it did seem that he was possessed, but in truth, Devlin just has a severe case of Bipolar. He will often talk to his flip personality (if not always out loud) and the "Black" Devlin will manifest itself if "White" Devlin is severely injured, threatened, or just very annoyed.
Appearance: Devlin stands at a good 6' 2" with silver hair that reaches a little past his shoulders. He only has one eye, since he lost the other in a fight with a gobler. The remaining eye is a hazel color with a few gold flecks. "Black" Devlin's eyes appear almost black and have smaller irises. He is overall fairly well-muscled and lean from a life on the move.

Brief Bio: Brother to Heshiro, and the said to be late Rubin Hitoshi. He was left to fend for his brother many years ago. Finding a life of crime far more rewarding than normalicy, he adopted theivery. Finding theivery a bit of a hassle, and far less rewarding than he had hoped for he later went on to becoming a merc at the young age of 15. He quickly became proficient at his new line of work, but still in a sense felt unsatisfied. He wanted to maim, kill, destroy those who would jeopeordize his way of life, so he became an assassin at 16. His heart grew cold to everyone, but his youngest brother. His legend soon began to grow throughout the years. People would whisper remedies of how he had single handedly taken on 150 of Peristal's men...and survived. More rumors came, and passed as he finally reached the age of 23. He became the most hunted assassin even known, and still he goes about life with not a care in the world. Only two rules this cold blooded killer has...no women, and no children...and no one is exempt from death as long as they attempt to take his life.
"Brother...what do you think of the rumors that have been spreading about lately?" asked Karu as he felt the pointed end of a needle slip through his flesh.
Heshiro being quite the little medic chuckled as he pulled the thread through, and laced together his brother's wound.
"I dunno...I kind of like them, especially the one about you and the 150 men you slaughtered. News travels quickly nowadays."
Karu chuckled as he felt the needle pierce into his skin again leading the thread. He shook his head, and peeked back smiling at Heshiro.
"Your a good kid Heshiro...don't ever change."

Locations The Academy- The Academy is a large castle located just outside of the human capital of Peristal. Although the majority of the school's population is human, no student has ever been turned down due to race. It is one way that the children can learn tolerance of the other inhabitants of Gi. Students have the choice to live in the dormitories, and all eat together in the dinning commons. During free periods, the students can enjoy the 25 acres of gardens and forest, the stables, and the lake. There are also the ruins of the original Academy building and the Founder's home, destroyed in a fire during the time of the Third Headmaster. The current building was built by the descendant of the Founder, who became the Fourth Headmaster of the school soon there after.
Peristal Military Headquarters- Located near the center of the city, this enormous building is a masterpiece all its own. Containing floors above and below ground, the military of Peristal eats, sleeps, trains, and lives within.
National Library- Thanks to being the trade capital of the world, many books, scriptures, and scrolls have been brought to and stored in the library, located just a short distance from the Military Headquarters.
