Can anyone tell me what level of sneak and security you have to be to steal items off people without them realizing it? Or how powerful the potion or spell on you has to be?

well actually it depends on the kind of person and the kind of item you are trying to get like I who have 115 sneak can take an ordinators shield but they mostly find out never got away with it. Got away with their torch though wink fun fun

depends on your race and the the underlying attributes that goes with the skills, like intelligence and acrobatics, as well as security and sneak. What I found helps MOST is strong chameleon skills or enchantments. With a good constant effect chameleon item, you can take almost anything from anyone, anytime, at level 20 or above.

But even that you still have a very limited choice on what to steal. I believe even with a high sneak and chamealeon they still find out.....
