Qaleb walked beside his wife. His arm was around her shoulders protectively, as if a hawk was going to swoop down and take away his beloved. They reached the entrance, and like any other gentleman he helped the Clinic's door open for Rowan. Following her in, he ducked down to keep his antlers from raking the frame.
They walked into the lobby and gave their names, having made their appointments in advance.
While the couple sat in the chairs to wait for their names to be called, Qaleb wrapped his wife in his embrace once again. "This is it, honey, another chance. Maybe this one will work!" he kissed her neck as he pondered what those words really meant.
He blamed himself for the misfortune. Manitou were not very good at siring children, no matter how badly they wanted a child. Qaleb had tried everything - pills, tonics, exercises, shots, anthing that was said to be guaranteed to word - and still they had no luck.
Well, maybe this clinic would be able to help - though Qaleb really didn't have much hope. What made this clinic any different than the other dozen or so they had gone to?

Rowan curled up in the chair and leaned against Qaleb and patted his leg softly. True, it had been hard, yearning for a child, yet unable to have one, but she tried not to let it get her down. "I have a good feeling about this place," she said, eyes scanning the room.
True, it was like many other medical offices, smelling of cleaners and having few things in the way of life aside from the doctors, nurses and patients, but... Well, maybe she was just being hopeless and setting herself up for failure, but she did have a good feeling about this place.
With a sigh, she curled up closer to Qaleb, eyes continuing to glance around the room.

Selma was releived that the latest couple-geeze did that guy have antlers?- seemed content to not talk to her. Instead curled up all cutsy on the chairs while she went back to her net surfing it was amazing how long one could occupy themselves with nothing if one really put one's mind to it.
Ronchas eventually came down from the hall, museing over some notes. He was certainly getting a lot of customers now. He enver dobuted he would and grined at the varities. His nurses would have to start seeing a few for some visits. That was fine, that was fine, he didn't mind as long as the twins were made and given their shots, oh yes, they'd need their shots. Two darling pairs of twins were out, four babies born from HIS serum. It was...exciting. Oh so very exciting.
The doctor paused when he saw a new couple in the waiting room and in the way of his mind he suddenly remember the appointment. With a grin he glanced voer the two. The man was an odd looking fellow but Ronchas welcomed the odd, entertained the strange and chatted with the weird. So with that purpetual grin he walked over and offered his hand.
"Hello, hello! I'm Dr. Ronchas, are you here for your appointment, for an appointment?" Ronchas repeated, glancing over the woman. She looked fine and healthy. Good, good, that's what he wanted to see. "Here to try for your chance at a miracle? Well we're one to give it to you, yes just the ones."

Qaleb was was still wrapped around Rowan when a man came down the hall, reading notes while he strode. The young -for his kind- Manitou watched the man hopefully. When finally he came over with a smile, Qaleb couldn't help but take the offered hand as he stood in greeting. "G'day sir, it's nice to meet you. I am Qaleb and this is my wife Rowan. We're both really excited to be here."
He thought the way Ronchas talked cofused Qaleb a little - they weren't exactly the ones they had heard previously... but if this man was going to help them, well, then how he talked wasn't going to be a problem.
With a proud grin, Qaleb turned back to his wife and offered his hand to her to help her stand. "Ready Rowan?" he whispered in her ear as he leaned over towards her.

Rowan smiled at the sight of the doctor, seemingly amused by his eccentric behavior. Uncurling from her position, she shook the proffered hand, smile widening. "Yessir," she responded, feet searching around on the floor for the sandals she had discarded awhile ago. Bad habit, she knew, but still. True, the man seemed a bit...off, but it seemed impossible to be terribly nervous in the company of such a person.
She levered herself out of the chair with Qaleb's assistance, but didn't relinquish her hold on his hand when she was standing. A small thrill raced through her at the thought. Was she ready? Was she really ready?
A brief moment was left in silence as she bit her lip and looked up at Qaleb and nodded slightly, her smile returning even larger than it was previously.

Ronchas smiled as he looked over the two couple. They were one of his favorite kind of couple. They were so ready, so desperate for a child that they would forget to ask important questions. Not that it mattered in the end. Ronchas didn't answer any questions that he didn't want too, none at all. There were advatages to people thinking that he was nuts. They didn't think it was weird when he just smiled in responce to a question then went on to say something completely unrelated.
Ronchas wasn't as meaningless as people though. Everything he did had meaning. Just not one people would be able to geuss really easily. After all he was nuts.
"Follow me." he cooed again, leading the couple to his office, closing the door behind them. He looked over the couple critcally. The man's antlers could be a problem, he mused, then shrugged. His kids would surive and Ronchas didn't care about the woman as long as she carried to term, and since she was getting his serum she would.
"I just have a some paper work for you two to fill out, just some paperwork." Ronchas told them honestly as he went to his file cabnet, taking out the standered paper work before handing it to the parents with his creepy smile in play. "And if you have any questions you can ask, oh yes, just ask away."

Well, Qaleb wasn't about to let go of his wife - so maybe the feeling was mutual. Very dramatically, he changed their position, so instead they looked like they would be walking together to prom - or down the wedding isle.
He took the first step, and followed the doctor down the hall and to the office. Holding the door open, Qaleb followed his wife inside and then took a seat in the chair nearby. Another flourish, and he lifted Rowan by the waste so that she was sitting comfortably in his lap, his hair tickling the back of her neck.
"Paperwork, eh?" Well, that was to be expected. Qaleb reached around Rowan, his chin resting on her shoulder and antlers well out of the way - the last thing he needed to impale his love in the eye. A little uncertain about that.... smile.... Qaleb chose to instead look at the paper and get that formality out of the way. Using a pen from his pocket, the man started to scratch out the required response.... 'name, gender, age...' the usual.
"Well," he mumbled, intent on answering and writing his responses. "I don't have any questions... do you, dear?" They had gone through so many procedures, sure there wasn't anything something new they could throw at them - right? Granted, they'd probably still try it, as long as Rowan's life wasn't threatened.

Rowan smiled, eyes twinkling in happy amusement at Qaleb's antics. She chuckled slightly as she was pulled onto his lap, settling back as she scanned over the paperwork. She picked up a pen that was lying on the desk, occasionally adding some information when it was needed.
Questions. Several things raced around her head, most of them inconsequential and were already answered from what she had read. Others were unrelated things that had nothing to do with the shot and she really should be asking her mother or someone else. "Well," she said, pen tapping against the desk for a moment. "Are there any side effects?"
Of course, she would probably go for it if there were some minimal ones, but still, it was nice to know...

Ronchas smiled as he looked over the parents. He lingered for a moment to see if any of them had questions. The females question caught him off guard, he did just realize there were a few side effects he wasn't aware of when he first gave the serum. The new kids were teaching him that. He smiled quickly though as he had no fear of those side effects.
"Well, you'll feel no side effects." Ronchas asured her, reaching over to pet her hand, not letting his touch linger though. The last thing he needed was a pissed off husband. Then they wouldn't reporduce with their wife and there be no new twins. "The kids might get an odd birthmark though, no worries, no harm will come to the children." he added quickly.

Qaleb's free hand tightened around Rowan's waist. He was over-protective, but he definately didn't care for too much... contact. Not that he gave any other sign that he even noticed the gesture. Granted, he was relieved that his wife wouldn't have any side effects. And as for a birthmark.... well, that was tolerable.
With a final glance, the man tickled Rowan's cheek with an ear, "I think that is everything, my dear - what do you think?" Qaleb lifted the paper for her to see more.
When she had her fill, he handed it back to the doctor. "Was there anything else, sir?" Qaleb's eyes sparkled with excitement. So, he hadn't lost hope yet!

Oh, birthmarks. Who didn't have any? She had some, though not where people usually...well. Not the point. But if that was the only thing, then there didn't seem to be much to worry over.
"Mmm," Rowan tapped the epn against her chin thoughtfully, eyes scanning the page. "Seems to be all in order." she said, setting the pen back down on the desk and looking up at Ronchas. She tried to keep the excited grin off of her face, but wasn't doing too well. The excitement, it seemed, was contagious.

Ronchas did notice the man's grip tightened and purposely decided to not touch the wife in a friendly manner again. He was overjoyed with them as a couple. He nodded quickly and grabbed the paper work. He glanced over it and nodded. Then put it away into a file he marked just for them before he grinned back to the parents.
"Just need to get the shot, get the shot." Ronchas explained. "Then I'll give the shot and you two will be right as rain to have children. Wonderful, beautiful children." Ronchas cooed slightly, grining manicly while doing so. "Wonderful, beautiful children." he mumbled before walking out of the room.

Qaleb grinned back when the doctor sent them his own. When the got up to follow, he kissed Rowan's neck and then lifted her in a joyous reaction and twirled his wife around carefully before setting on her own feet.
"Can it really be true, Rowan?" he whispered with his head low. "He seems so SURE of himself!"
The man nuzzled her cheek with a quiet giggle, "I don't care if he talks funny.... he may be just the savior we were searching for!" Of course.... 'savior' was a little strong of a word as neither of their lives were in danger. But Qaleb felt that if they could never have a child of their own, then he really would just die!
"Come, my love, we should probably catch up to the good doctor," he smiled toothily and extended his hand nobly in the direction of Ronchas.

Rowan squeaked as she was unexpectedly twirled around, not bothering to restrain her grin anymore. "I think it is," she responded, tapping his nose lightly with a giggle.
Truth be told, the lack of children had been wearing on her quite heavily over the past few years, after having to deal with failure after failure. But this...Well, her optimism seemed to be refuled by the eccentric doctor.
With a matching grin, she solemnly placed her hand in his, curtsying slightly. "Lets go, then," she said happily.

Ronchas hadn't expected them to follow. They were suppose to remain in his office while he got the shot. He didn't like patients to be anywhere but the hospital and the office so they'd know as little as possible about what he really did. Luckily Selma, for all her boredom and lack of will to do anything wouldn't let them get past her desk. She was loyal when it counted.
"All patients must remain in the waiting room or Ronchas office unless directed elsewhere." Selma spoke up before the couple could try to pass her. "The doctor will return shortly with your shot if you wait patently in his office." the secretary asured them as she continued to play solitare.
And she didn't lie. Ronchas returned soon, with the shot in hand as he grinned over the pair. Their desperation was obvious and perfect. He could give them just what they wnated and in return...oh in return he'd get what he always wanted. It was a fair trade in the doctor's mind.
"Alright, ready for the shot? Ready for the shot?" he quired as he got some rubbing alcohol to clean a proper area for the needle.
