Okay, I have a goal to get 10,000 or 9,000 gold for something. I have no idea how long it will take!!!! So, I am probably going to sell the stuff I don't want!!!!!! But, agian, it may not work, so, that is my goal.

I got up to 29,000 gold. I was saving up for fairy wings. I am now the proud owner of my own pair of fairy wings. You can do it. ^_^ Just don't give up. Believe you me... if you post a lot and play a lot of games, it won't take long.

At one point I've hoarded a lot more than that - it's a pretty realistic goal.

Yes, bids don't work well. It takes luck with the range the person logs into Gaia, it also has to expire quickly.
