So a while back I got the limited edition
Halo 3 ZuneI have had it for about five months now, and have enjoyed everything about it. But as of resently they have forced all
Zune users to "update" there Zune. I thought that this would be a great idea... not so much. It turns out that now I can't use alot of the features that I loved to use before.
the first thing that bothers me is that they have changed the rating system for songs. It is now (instead of the classic 5 star rating) a 2 heart rating system, so you can choose between a heart and a broken heart. To some this may mean nothing, but to me this is a bit of a problem. You see, I like to micro manage things, But with only having three options(third being unrated) this is a little difficult.
Another thing that they have changed is that I can no longer "flag" my songs. What that allowed me to do, was mark the song so I could later easily find it.
It is now troublesome to find the music that I want to hear, I can no longer listen to only 4 star songs, or 5 star songs. They are a 1 heart mesh.
Also to top thing off they have completly change the software for the Zune media player on my computer. It is now easier to change the song information via properties on the windows tab, than it is through the new software.
For anyone who listen to music as much as I do,(I have to charge my Zune every day and it has a 14 hour battery life) a few miner changes can be a big thing.
It does have its good though. It now has wireless syncing(I can't use),podcast, and the syncing software runs alot faster. But other than that it's not much.
All in all, I still would take a Zune over an iPod any day. But, where they have taken in features, they haven't given enough back.
I guess where I would rate the new updates 2 stars out of 5, I instead rate it a broken heart.
sad
