Summary: Cloud gets paired with Leon on a project, but can barely stand working with him, because of some past occurrences which have left Cloud rather bitter. But after some intense events that occur after their first day of working together, will Cloud be able to get over his dislike of Leon?

Teaser:Cloud glanced around the room quickly to see who his potential partners were. He saw Yuffie Kisaragi, who was absolutely lazy whenever it came to Chemistry, or any type of work for that matter. He also saw a boy named Axel, who was generally just irritating, always asking people 'Got it memorized?' 'It's only clever a few times before it gets old,' Cloud thought to himself. There was also Quistis Trepe, who was way too much of a tightwad to be remotely enjoyable as a person. He also noticed Squall Leonheart. He was reminded how he assumed the first part of his last name, just calling himself Leon. That always bugged Cloud. He thought it was pointless to do that. Out of all those people, the one he disliked the most was Yuffie, just because she was lazy and wouldn't help him at all. He glanced back up at the teacher. So far Aerith and Rinoa were paired, Quisits and Axel were paired, and Roxas and Sora were paired. There were only three other people besides him, which meant he would either be with Leon, Yuna or Riku. He didn't really care much for the silver-haired boy or the brunette girl, but either of them was better than Leon. Cloud recalled once whenever he and Leon were younger and Leon was riding by on his bicycle and ran over Cloud's foot, which caused him to fall and release his dog's leash, which allowed the dog time enough to escape and run far away, never to be seen again. Cloud never really forgave Leon for his fault. Of course, by this time Leon had outright forgotten that he had ever committed such a heinous act, thus was unaware of Cloud's silent disapproval.
“Alright, Leon,” said Cid, “Let's see... eeny, meeny, miney, Cloud... you're paired with Cloud.” That left Cloud in a strange position. He shouldn't have thought so much about how much he hated Leon, because he realized afterwards that if something can go wrong, it will go wrong. He realized his extra thought was the obvious foreshadowing of this impending result and sighed, moving from his desk to the empty one in front of Leon. He turned and looked at Leon, then turned back to Cid to get the last bit of his sermon about how their topic had to be decided upon in two days time. He returned his glance to Leon and sighed once again.
“Do you not want to be my partner or something,” Leon asked, noticing Cloud's excessive amount of exhaling, “Because if you don't want to... too bad. We're stuck together and you know that, so we may as well just make the project and get it done.” Leon crossed his arms and leaned back, slouching in his desk to make himself comfortable, while glaring at Cloud as though his actions were ones of pure insolence. It made Cloud uncomfortable just to sit near him now.
“Right,” Cloud muttered, “Just gotta get through it.”
