I think it's just a fluff term. There supposed to be people that have a better understanding of the world and can relate to all, like empathy. Or something like that. In fact, I don't think I'm too sure either. But I do know it is all a bit fluffy. I think it may just be a personality thing.

its what parents call their kids with authority problems, and trouble learning at school as a excuse for their bad parenting

I've always hear the term used with aliens and such... I'm pretty sure that it was something to do with the supposed alien-human hybrids (I think some people use the term 'Indigo Child' in place of hybrid, too...). Mostly people talked about how the government was working with Indigo children for some reason or other blahblahinsertconspiracyhere.

That's so funny! Does she link you to all the articles and whatnot that SAY Indigos are aliens? I was like, "Thanks, aunt. Thanks." gonk Personally, I don't believe it has anything to do with aliens, but is a style of aura that is increasing amongst populations.

*Shrug* Indigo, schmindigo. Too often it is used as a term by parents to excuse the fact that they are honestly hopeless parents and have no clue how to teach a child how to respect authority. Now, before I get pwned for insulting people's parents, please note I am not actually saying this is ALWAYS the case. Just OFTEN.
Witchy, that's the first I've heard of genes in this. But what it means is that indigo children have existed for a helluva long time, and theoretically, the number of 'mauve' children must double every generation. Genes don't mutate overnight, certainly not the same mutation occurring around the world anyway.
Do you have any other information about the genetic links to indigo-ism? You've gotten my scientific side piqued now.

this is true that indigos have existed for a very long time were few and very far between in older times, the number of humans showing these genes has sky rocketed in the last two decades and only now has become a phenomena. i think the numbers for before the eighties was like 1 in every two thousand had even one of the genes in there systems. there are a lot of links on you tube under indigo children , where you can even see some of the more artistic indigos. its nuts i suggest looking it up.

I wish fluffy could be a censored word. It's a horrible insult to one's beliefes. Especially in this subject area.
