Tolavan glanced around, she flicked her brown tail as she gleamed in the sunsight. She had escaped her mother from her slight nagging. Though she loved her mother very much, she had been getting on her case latly, but Tol was growing, she was an adult now. Her mind wandered about this as she looked around to find herself at a beach. She stopped herself to see the waves crashing against the tan sand. She smiled, her mother said she was born here. She picked up her right hoof, shaking off the sand. Tol's eyes glanced back towards the woods, maybe she should go back? she shook her head, no she wanted to spend a day at the beach! She couldn't help her mothers nervous mind.
She walked over to where the oceans waves stoppeed going, the water went over her black hoofs. Tol took in a deep breath of the salt water smell, she gave a wide smile. Her eyes closed as she imagined what her mother and father would be doing. She opened her eyes to hear a wave coming towards her. She stepped back and flicked her ears listening to the waves.

Apple had just awaken from a good dream as he stood up and stretched his legs. The sounds of the crashing waves loured the stallion towards the direction of the ocean. It hadn't been long from when the stallion's sister found that little basket here. When he reached the sand, he stopped and dug in it for a second.
The sight of a shell brought back a fond memory of the mother of his children. He had given her a shell just like that little shiny one that had been brought to the shore by the light blue waves that were restlessly moving on the land then back into the sea that seemed welcoming. The shell in the distance slowly was taken away by the waves, and the stallion moved on with his walk.
A figure was in the distance... a horse... a mare. His long tail slowly dragged behind him and picked up some grains of sand as he walked. The spotted stallion stopped when he saw the striped mare looking out at the light blue ocean.

Tol's ear twitched as she could hear the sound of another horse coming her way. She gave a low growl, one day of peace would be lovely, but she turned her head looking to an apple-rumped stallion. She raised her brow as she turned around to face the horse. She couldn't help but think of the stallion her mother had talked about, the apple one. She gave a small huff as a small part of her mane fell into her eye as she took in the stallions features. He was grey, with black and brown dots, and apples on his butt. She tilted her head, still slightly mad that someone disturbed her peace. She flipped her mane as she gave a low, "Hello..."
The waves behind her crashed as her fur gleamed againsts the suns light. Maybe this stallion wouldn't be annoying, maybe he would be somewhat normal. She lifted up up her back foot and shook off some very annoying sand that was itching her back foot. Her brown eyes glanced back to the ocean, since the stallion was somewhat quiet she would either get to the point quick, or let this go slowly. Her mane blew in her face as she thought of what her mother said, btu she growled at the thought.
"Who are you? I'm Tolavan."

The mare did not look too thrilled to see him walking near her. His eyes glanced up to her ears which were twitching a little. Apple let a small smile rest on his face as he looked at the ocean then at the mare that spoke to him. "Hello." He returned, in his normally welcoming voice. His spotted ears flicked forwards and back. The waves slowly rolled onto the land and reached for the area where the sand met the grass.
His eyes made their way over to the mare's brown eyes, which were somewhat covered by a bit of her mane. Her markings looked exactly like the ones of the basket his sister had found. That day was one he wouldn't forget easily. He volunteered to watch over the basket for the day while his sister slept. All he did with the basket was bring it next to the ocean and let it listen to the welcoming waves. A small, happy sigh escaped him as he thought about that day. It was a very relaxing day.
Tolavan? The name seemed very familiar. Probably the name his sister gave the basket? Nah, she probably wasn't the little basket. "My name is Apple-oosa, but you can call me Apple." The spotted stallion said with a small bow of his head.

Tolavan watched the smile rest upon his face, he seemed to be kind, what a bore. She flipped her mane, as so she could fully see the stallion. He seemed to wave his ears in hello, my, he was interesting. She begged to ask why he was coming towards her, but kept her mouth shut as to hear his name. The wind filled her ears for a moment, drowning out the world. She took a step closer to the stallion. Tolavans eyes grew big at his name, Apple-oosa? Her mothers brother? No, it couldnt be.
Tolavan gave a low snarl, "Apple is it? Then you must be my uncle."

So the mare was in fact the little basket he had watched over that one day. Her eyes made him chuckle a little. He hadn't ever seen a soquili make eyes that wide ever. When she snarled, he knew she wasn't in such a great mood. "I guess I am. You must be that little basket I had to watch." Apple said glancing towards the water.
"Your mother is Chaser, correct?" Apple pretty much knew the answer, but it kept the conversation from dieing.

Tolavan just blankly stared and him in disbeliefe, how the hell did she run into her mothers best friend?? Tolavan blinked, "You watched over me when I was a basket. oh how dreadful." She shook her head and looked towards the sky. His words filled her ears as she nodded, "Ya, my adoptive mother, which means your not really my uncle." She looked to him with a raise of her brow. Her dark brown mane changed sides and she took a couple steps towards the stallion.
"So would you rather be called Uncle, or Apple."

He blinked his gray eyes as he watched the striped mare for a second longer before continuing on his walk. It seemed the mare... erm... his niece wanted to be left alone. Maybe she had something to think about. "You were actually a rather calm basket." He said, know that she wasn't calling herself a dreadful basket.
"Whichever you prefer." The light gray stallion said stopping for only a second to turn and talk to her.

She gave a low laugh, " I was calm, wow that is quiet a shocker." she looked to him and walked towards him, as he seemed to think she was walking away. She gave a small caough, before her eyes met him. he seemed like a noce basket, someone who would watch after her 'mother' iif she ever came ill. Tolavan shook her mane quickly and stood beside apple. She gave a very tiny smile, "So what are you doing today?"
She shrugged, "I'll call you apple, we arn't really related in a way, so ya. You'll be just like another soquili to me, but you can call me your niece, if you want to."

"Well, you were much like every other basket. You jumped around every now and then." His mind trailed off to the past again. "I remember you were a little afraid of me." He chuckled. How could that scared basket become this independent mare? It seemed like yesterday she was shivering in fear of his voice. "I truly had no plans for today. Just walking on the beach, hoping to find something interesting to do." Apple said looking towards the water.
"I'll call you Tolavan, since we aren't related. You will be just like any other mare to me." He copied. If this mare didn't want to call him uncle, he didn't want to call her niece. It didn't seem like they were uncle and niece anyways.

Tolavan looked at him in shock, she thought she might have been really quiet, one of the shy ones. She merely shrugged it off, she couldnt believe she was like that. She blinked at him cautiously, " I was scared off you? Well i think i would be. I mean, i was just in complete dark hearing something strange talking to me." She gave a tiny smile, that was pretty funny. Ahe glanced to him, "Well then walk down the beach, i bet we can find some shells that mach your apples on your butt." She troted in the sand, trying to keep her balance by putting her feet down slowly.
She looked back at him and nodded, "Then its a deal. I shall call you Apple, and treat you like any other stallion, and you may call me Tolavan, and treat me like any other mare, but for friends, seeing as we are kind of friends. You can also call me Tol." She spoke, then looked orwards to the where the waves met the sand. "Hurry, they might get washed away."

Apple made his way after the mare and nodded his head to here question. "Most likely." He agreed whenever she spoke of when she was in the darkness. "After a while though, you calmed down and seemed to like my voice... or so I think." The spotted stallion said trotting behind the mare towards where the seashells were. Ah, seashells, such interesting things. They always had a special shine to them.
"Agreed." He said simply as he looked into the water and watched as a creature was dragged out into the welcoming ocean. The creature was a red crab that was hoping the water would catch it. Apple's tail continued to drag behind him and collect more sand as he went along. "Well, its not like there will be other waves bringing the beautiful shells to us." Apple smiled at the mare. "I'm sure your mother would like you back to her. You know how to get back to her, right?" He smiled and bowed his head. "I must be going now, goodbye friend!"
