The Lifestream. The haunting, mysterious green energy that flows throughout the Planet, containing the souls of those who have departed. When we are born, we are granted a soul by the Planet. We live our lives and end them by the soul returning to the Planet and taking its memories with it. The cycle is eternal, never-ending. The Lifestream also protects the Planet in times of trouble. When Sephiroth summoned Meteor, the Lifestream reacted and took actions to defend the Planet. Above all, the Lifestream keeps the Planet alive. ~~~ This is a literate roleplay that centers around a young woman named Aerith Gainsborough, a prominent character from Final Fantasy VII, whose life was cut tragically short by Sephiroth stabbing her in the back in the City of the Ancients with his masamune. As described in the short piece called "The Maiden Who Travels The Planet" from the FFVII Ultimania Omega Book, Aerith continued to travel the Lifestream as she kept an eye on Cloud and came across many other deceased characters that she had known during her lifetime. This roleplay was inspired by "The Maiden Who Travels the Planet." If you wish to read it, it can be found here: http://one.xthost.info/ffwebnovel/maiden.htm

The rules are simple.
~Type in complete sentences. I won't be picky about how many sentences you submit in each post, but a fairly common rule of literate roleplay is to provide a minimum of 4 sentences. ~ToS applies, but you already knew that. ~You don't have to PM me or contact me in any way to claim a character. Once you make a post for them, they're yours to roleplay. If you want to turn your character over to someone else on a later date, just let everyone know that the transfer is taking place. ~You can roleplay as many characters as you'd like. ~Please use different colors to distinguish between your characters. It makes things easier and less confusing. ~Come and go as you please. Since Aerith will be journeying throughout the Lifestream, it will be common for her to talk to a person and then leave after the conversation is complete. ~Please, feel free to call her Aeris or Aerith. Both are technically correct, but her official name is Aerith. ~Feel free to create your own characters for this roleplay.
That's pretty much it.

A figure could be seen traveling down one of the thousands of paths that the Lifestream contained. The green mist cleared a little bit, revealing a female with long, braided brown hair and sparking green eyes. A long, pink dress hugged her curves, accompanied by a rust-red bolero jacket and brown hiking boots. Silver bangles decorated her wrists and a pink ribbon was tied at the top of her braid. A gentle smile was plastered on the young woman's face as she took each carefree step. She didn't seem concerned with the fact that she had recently left her physical body at the bottom of the fated lake.

(I'm not sure about this but what the hell.)
Another figure stood among the fog created by the souls and energy of the planet. He silently stood with his back to Aerith, staring into nothingness. He had spikey, dark blue hair and equally dark blue eyes. He wore a dark blue, sleeveless shirt, very much like one of Aerith's accomplices and had metal shoulder pads. His pants, like everything else, were dark blue and on his back was a long, thick, heavy looking sword. He turned around to face Aerith and, with a smile, Zack said "It's been a while".

((Dude, Zack has black hair, not blue hair..*gonk*))
The girl looked over and her smile shifted a bit to a more welcoming and friendly one. "It has..." Taking a few steps towards the deceased SOLDIER, she clasped her hands behind her back like she commonly did around people she knew. "I prayed for you, you know."

(In the pics I've seen it's a very dark blue.)
"I wasn't the one that needed your prayer." Zack said. "Heaven knows Cloud couldn't have made it without you." Zack stepped forawrd infront of Aerith and put his arms round her. "I'd say it's been too long but I don't think you've had long enough."

(( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zack_Fair)) Aerith smiled a bit when she realized that she could actually feel his embrace in this state. It felt so familiar, yet so new and foreign at the same time. Putting her arms carefully around him in return, she looked up a bit so she could continue conversing with him. "I didn't know Cloud at that time...But needless to say, if I knew what would happen, I would've been praying for him, as well as the Planet." She closed her green eyes gently for a moment and opened them again with her next thought. "Since the Planet decided it was my time to go, I accept my fate without question..."

(Arse.)
Zack sighed. He didn't believe that it was the will of the planet but he was happy to let Aerith think it was. He held her tight and thought about what would happen next. "So, anyone you want to see?" Zack said.

Aerith sighed a bit, gaining a thoughtful look. "I'm not sure..." In truth, there were many people that she wouldn't mind seeing, although it was rather sad to visit them here. There were also people that she'd be happy not seeing, but if she encountered them, she encountered them.

Zack recognised the problem. "Hey, I know this isn't the best place to see the people you care about but it's not so bad. The fact is you can see them again. It's a downer what happened to them and us but it'll feel good to see them again."

"It's not so much me seeing them, it's them seeing me." Aerith wasn't sure if everyone she had known before their death knew that she was dead. The brunette understood that people could be naturally upset about how she was killed, but she didn't want to make a terribly big deal out of it. She was proud of the sacrifice that she made to help save and protect the Planet and held very few regrets.

"Don't worry about it." Zack said. He held Aerith at arm's length and looked at her nervously. "After a while. . . You start to uh, stop caring. No, that's not the right word. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't hit you as hard. This world is full of dead people. We just get used to it."

Aerith nodded a little, just looking at his face normally now that she didn't have to tilt her head up a bit. "I don't find that hard to believe." After analyzing her surroundings for a few moments, she caught onto his nervousness. "Is...there something wrong?"

"Well, uh, it's just that. . ." Zack mumbled. He took a deep breath and just decided to come out with it. "There are some people that can't accept what has happened. They insist that they are still alive. They think they're jst lost and are trying to find their way home. If you meet someone like that, just play along. It's alot easier for them and for us if we do."
