Jello. Mostly cause The Dead Kennedys are one of the best punk bands ever, and NOFX isn't even close. Plus, Jello Biafra has intellegence in his politics with songs like Kill the Poor and California Uber Allies, and I'm sure we can all see the genious of Idiot Son of an a*****e.

Jello Biafra all the way.

There is something about the way he phrases things that makes him shine. I really like the snide, sarcastic tones he uses in songs like Pull My Strings or Power of Lard; its comedic but at the sametime shows alot of thought and knowledge of things. Plus I think Jello has a better tendency to make people uncomfortable and dude looks like he can scrap if he needs to.

In truth, I have no idea who the other guy is. From the previous post I suppose he is the frontman for NOFX. I can honestly say I have never listened to NOFX so perhaps my opinion is biased. stare

Jello!

All the way. Despite the fact that he still has beef with the rest of DK.

Oh please, every Dead Kennedys song ever was just a remake of the last Dead Kennedy's song, if you have any actual appreciation for political music you'd vote Fat Mike, Jello is an egotistical p***k who takes punk wayyyy too seriously and tries to turn every damn punk into some black uniform wearin autonomaton. All he talks about is about being different and how we're being brainwashed and how like people are just carbon copies of eachother and he speaks on how robotic American society has become when he doesn't realize that a lot of punks like him are the reason Punk rock is becoming a robotic society too, a bunch of spikey heads who all look the same and all write the same lyrics and want the same leftist s**t as the next punk. How about growing a mind of your own like Fat Mike did? I mean to say that Jello is more intelligent than fat Mike is quite an assumption, how old are you, like seventeen? I'm sure you've had plenty of time in the maybe three years you've been into punk rock to really compare the two next to eachother. It's almost insulting for someone to say that politically Jello Biafra is smarter than Fat Mike, just because Fat Mike is more vulgar doesn't mean he isn't smarter, have you ever taken the connotations of a NOFX song past the actual lyrics you heard and tried to understand what they meant? NOFX aren't anarchists, they aren't hippy tree huggers either, punk may be about being liberal but it's definitely not about being a bigot. But as the years go by you'll come to realize Dead Kennedys aren't that great of a band, and you'll throw away the punk starter box you found containing a DK cd, Exploited patch, and a how to guide to being an anarchist, and you'll end up realizing that politically people like Jello Biafra take s**t way too far and at least Fat Mike has found some sort of medium, where he has plenty of liberal views, but at the same time isn't so amazingly liberal that he's become conservative, like Jello Biafra.

Interesting debating strategy- try and shove your ideas down the other person's throat and then insult them for making assumptions even though you just did the same thing (what are you-17, 3 years you've been into punk, etc.).

I'm not an anarchist, and I don't like The Exploited all that much anyway. I'm also not a liberal, all I'm saying is that I don't like NOFX's music much, partially because for some reason pop-punk bands annoy me after a few songs (I have no idea why), partially because their songs are mostly repeats of a few lines of minimal intellegence, or about drugs. I'm fine with NOFX, but I prefer DK. I never once said that NOFX is worse because they're more vulgar, I actually couldn't care less about how much they cuss or sing about their vaginas. I just think that DK had more to say, and said it in a better way, and I prefer their musical styles and couldn't care less if Jello is an a** or not.

i hate people like that, who are basically fascists with different politics...however, i don't consider Jello to be one of these people.

You're right Leninator, when I wrote that a few months ago I was a little bit of a d**k about it, I have little respect for anarchists or super political activists of any type, but I shouldn't resort to petty personal nitpicking and putting other people down, honestly I agree with my points and stand by them, but I realize that I throw all of my seriousness out the window once I start going on my assinine parades, so I may as well grow the hell up and stop making everything so personal.

But I still like NOFX better, they're funny as hell, love smokin weed, and are fat old ******** who still make music! AWesome!

That's true. I have a few of their cds, and every so often I listen to them for some comic relief, and I can dig what they do (what with the drugs and the being freaks and such), but I just don't like their music that much just because of my preference. It's more of a personal choice then anything I think about.
