So I just finished it. Good stuff. I've gotta say its rather wierd how much the ending sort of leaves you hanging though. I understand he is continuing off of it in his next trilogy, but why not make a quintet or something like he did with Caderly?
DISCUSS HUNTERS BLADES! I've put up a spoiler warning so you should be able to discuss it freely.
and thank god Delly died. God dam she was annoying.

I agree delly was annoying but her death was sad. I mean why take catterbrie(sp) sword? i know i know. Cutter talked to her and got into her mind, but still, Salvatore made Delly seemed strong-willed so that something like that wouldn't happen. And now Salvatore's making a trilogy with the Orc King (it's out), the Pirate King(200 cool , and the Ghost King(2009).

I know! What was with Delly? I mean... She was this willful strong woman who spent years in a rowdy bar! When she was first introduced she seemed a tad bit needy, but she was a pretty strong woman. It seemed like the second Wulfgar took her away she became the wimpy priss type. How did that happen exactly? sweatdrop

That's true, but her weakness shows that women in our world are viewed as weak subordinates and that pisses me off. I am glad that Catte-brie and Drizzt FINALLY hooked up. How he saw her and just picked her up basically giving off the body language of "This is my woman and I'm going to take her till she bleeds" basically. (Okay, I know that was weird, but hey it's true)

I thought it really sucked that Obloud came back, but had to see it coming. I mean, he was stronger then the normal orc, even Drizzt had a hard time.

Obould is a tough guy, what can I say. And what Haztsutfael said was in both. You found out near the end of The Two Swords that Obould survived, but in the beginning of The Orc King, you know that he's...Um....*SPOILER* creating an orc kingdom

Minandreas I know! What was with Delly? I mean... She was this willful strong woman who spent years in a rowdy bar! When she was first introduced she seemed a tad bit needy, but she was a pretty strong woman. It seemed like the second Wulfgar took her away she became the wimpy priss type. How did that happen exactly? sweatdrop Me too agrees on Colson, but I think she missed Luskan...and the mines...well they were no place for her too. And that argument with woman as subordinates... Well Faerun is kinda like a mediaval with fantasy. And in the Middle Ages woman definitly often were no more than that. Today it sounds harsh...but well...times change...

All good points made about Delly. Hadn't really thought of those things. Quote: That's true, but her weakness shows that women in our world are viewed as weak subordinates and that pisses me off. I am glad that Catte-brie and Drizzt FINALLY hooked up. How he saw her and just picked her up basically giving off the body language of "This is my woman and I'm going to take her till she bleeds" basically. (Okay, I know that was weird, but hey it's true) I dont think thats particularly valid. Thats just one example of a woman acting weak in Salvatores books. I mean the majority of woman that actually have a pertinent roll in his books are just as strong, powerful, or brave as the next guy that's in it. Cattie-Brie, Alustriel, Dwahvel, Dannica, all the drow women of course hahaha, list goes on... The only women I can recall that seemed particularly meek in any way were Delly, and that girl from Spine of the World... the one who had Colson. Can't remember her name. And even she wasn't really portrayed as weak and helpless in the long run. if anything I'd say women are regarded more equally in salvatores books than in real life! sweatdrop oh and Obould is pretty cool imo
