The first ep I ever saw was Prometheus.
(whiting this out just in case it's a spoiler for anyone)I flipping through the channels and caught Vala and Danny fighting, then kissing, and I was like "Wha..?" So I stopped and watched. When Danny did the old Kids-in-the-Hall gag with the security camera, I was hooked. I thought - here's an intelligent show that isn't afraid of light jokes some people might not get. Danny and Vala both hooked me as good characters too. It was the first time the ep was aired, in the sci-fi Friday night spot. So when I started watching the other ones they showed everyday at 6, I was really surprised! No Vala! And Danny had long hair! O.o And he was...way more of a geek. lol But the more I watched, I just fell harder for every side of Daniel. I was way thrilled when Vala came back too. ^^
Jack I loved right off for his sense of humor. Sam and Teal'c I really didn't like. I've learned to love them, but it took awhile. I don't get Sam's appeal. Her actress is really cute and seems really great, but for me Sam still came across as too military until the last few seasons. I think that was a plus to RDA leaving - the others characters fleshed out more. Same happened with Teal'c, though I admit it was partly Vala's play with him that warmed me up to the guy. It's hard to see him as a tough guy with such a cute girl hanging all over him.
Anyway, I didn't even know Stargate was a movie for the first year or so I watched. I loved the show, but I didn't do any real research on it. I just bought one issue of the magazine to catch up on the aliens and get a cute poster of Michael. ^^() It never mentioned a movie.
Then, one day, I'm bored as can be on vacation with the family in a place that has no phone, internet, or cable TV. I'm not the only one missing technology, so we get a cheap VCR and look through some old VHS tapes at a pawn shop downtown. I'm pawing through stuff and there it is - Stargate. I couldn't believe it. I bought it, and once vaca was over
I returned to civilization with one thought - I really needed to look up more about this show. ^^()
Let's see - been hooked for about... 5 years now I suppose.

Well, Stargate the movie was one of the first movies I ever saw in a theater when I was little, and I loved it. I watched it like every other day when it came out on VHS. And then when they made SG1 on Sci-fi I flipped a nugget and have been obsessed with it ever since "Children of the Gods"

I've been watching since SG-1 first hit the airwaves. I was a big fan of the first movie and I was so excited about a series being made. I'm glad that I wasn't disappointed.

I was a big fan of the movie, I even made my dad like it xD
I started to watch since season 1 ep 1, on Fox 45 on cable. I remember I had a very hard time because I couldn't speak very well English and had to put the subtitles for people with hearing disabilities.

i started watching around season 7-8. my dad always watched it and i had also see the original movie. it wasn't until i got the show on dvd's and really got into it.

I started watching Stargate a few years ago when we got pay TV and there were reruns on the Sci Fi channel but I remember my Mum used to watch it ages ago and she watched it with me now too.

I saw the movie first when my fiance rented it. After that I started watching the shows. They were far from new when I started but I'm catching up ^.^
