Nathaniel gazed up at the sky watching the gray clouds shift uneasily over the village. Gazing back down to the empty sheet of paper he sighed. The report due for a study project at school he hadn't even started and once the sun went down it was hopeless to work since no electricity was given to the residential houses in the town. Setting the paper aside he walked down the stairs of the shack he lived in just quick enough to grab a bowl than returned to the top floor. Placing the bowl under the hole where he was just sitting he froze.
Something was off for some reason, the town seemed to be silent. Looking outside he stood amazed at the storm that approached, just moments ago the streets had been loud and bustling but now it was like an empty town... Quickly grabbing his things he ran down the two sets of stairs and snuck out the back door of the abandoned shack where he lived.
Stealthily sliding along the side of the shack he made sure to quietly cross the street leaving the yard before resuming a normal walk. As he walked along the streets something seemed odd, no noise, and most of all, every store was locked... What was going on?

Riker had been off of Mysteel for a whole, after being sent on a mission by Seiaeka to find a relic. Looking up from his flight, the demon noticed a storm in his path and looked down to see a town. Making a decision in a split second, he halted his flight and hovered down into a dark alley, landing softly on the cobblestone streets.

Nathaniel coughed a few times before turning the corner onto the market street. Every stall normally filled with trades and craftsman of all sort all stood empty their belongings sitting opening on the tables. Continuing down the street Nathaniel kept alert turning his head to face every noise that was made. Making his way down the street he saw the church house up ahead after the fountain that stood in the center of town. Dodging a weary eye Nathaniel looked out and saw a face looking out from the church house. 'Thats where they are!' he thought. Retreating back around the corner Nathaniel kept his ears open listening in. As he took another step backwards his foot crushed a twig that seemed to spit the air.
All the sudden the air tightened around him and every noise became apparent , a mans voice from around the corner, the moving of feet along the ground; it sounded like the baker but as afraid as Nathan was he ran unknowingly through the alley smashing into something as he ran with his eyes closed and silent.

Riker flinched as he was struck from behind and he fell forward onto his knees. Normally, the demon wouldn't have fallen, but he was weak from his journey, hence the reason he did not brave the storm.
He groaned and turned over, now sitting on his rear on the cold stone streets, "Watche where you're going!" he mumbled, quickly wrapping his wings around himself to look more like a cape than wings.

"I..I'm sorry," Nathaniel stuttered sitting there rubbing his eyes. Coughing a few times he held his hand over his mouth kindly. "Is there anything I can get you?" Nathan asked weakly offering to make up for his mess. Looking down he hoped he hadn't injured the man but taking a quick glance over his own self he notcied he wasn't hurt anywhere, which was a slight relief.

"I'm quite capable of caring for myself, but you shouldn't be out here, you sound as though you're sick and a storms is coming," he said, standing up to his full height of 5'10". He held out his hand for the kid, "Come on, get up, you should sek shelter, but if you still want to help me, give me someplace quiet I can rest for a day or until this storm passes."

"Just follow me, and I am not a kid if thats what you were thinking," Nathan growled standing up and walking past the man and back into the streets where he directed the man to follow him. Mumbling under his breath Nathan ranted about the man and being called little, why was he so small? It was annoying. Letting the thought pass he looked up and noticed the sky darkening, they better hurry. "You better try to hurry, the storm will start soon and this will be a bad one." Passing the gate into his yard he rounded the house and opened the back door by hitting it in a series of places. As it swung open the warm house feeling seemed to comfort him.

"Everyone is a kid to me, hu-" he'd been about to say 'human' again, but stopped himself and looked up at the sky as he followed the kid. "Are the storms always this bad?" he asked, following him into the house.

"Ya, we have them every day, sometimes there worse, but it ends up in a lot of repairs so we normally just adapt to the storms." Closing the door Nathaniel looked around, the fireplace was glowing dimly, fighting the urge to go out. Smiling he went over there and poked at it with the little fork thing that he had by the fireplace. Turning to face the man Nathaniel smiled a little and looked about before outstretching his arm "My names Nathaniel. Pleasure to meet you"

Riker looked out the window in wonder before turning to watch the boy stoke the fire. He was remaining in the shadows, but as the boy held out his hand, he warily stepped out, raising his clawed hand, he took the human's in his, "Riker, pleasure," he said before quickly releasing and stepping back into the shadows again.

Nathaniel saw the claw and soon as he was let go was frozen. He seemed to be a statue with his hand out for anyone to shake as he slowly thawed. Moving slowly he opened his mouth afraid this man was going to kill him but no noise came out. Falling over he hit the fork which sat on the fireplace edge causing a couple of dim ashes to fly through the air landing on the ground almost immediately burning out. "Wha..what are you?"

Riker retracted into the corner, "I'm what you humans refer to as a Demon," he said quietly, blinking at him from the shadows. He seemed impassive, but he was really a little worried that the kid might kick him out into the storm.

"Y..You wont hurt me like all those fairy tells say will you?" Nathaniel studdered. He couldn't believe how he was acting, making a fool of himself infront of a creature. Idiot.

Tehre was a small rush of wind in the shack that seemed to gather around the Demon and his figure was suddenly no longer looking in the darkenss. Instead, a much younger looking Riker stepped out of the shadows and into the dimming firelight. He was now much cuter and little pointed ears, no wings or claws, and was about 5'3.5" now. "Is this more comfortable?" he asked a little shyly.

"I..I guess," Nathaniel said falling back onto his butt. Looking at the now much smaller figure he wondered what exactly he was but deciding to leave off the personal questions he asked the simple one, "Why are you here?" He said it a little shrilly but than apologizes and sat there listening to the storm which shoot the shack.
