SEETHER LYRICS

"Fake It"

Who's to know if your soul will fade at all
The one you sold to fool the world
You lost your self-esteem along the way
Yeah

Good god your coming up with reasons
Good god your dragging it out
Good god its the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
So follow me down

And just fake it if your out of direction
Fake it if you don't belong here
Fake it if you feel like affection
Woah your such a ******** hypocrite

And you should know that the lies wont hide your flaws
No sense in hiding all of yours
You gave up on your dreams along the way
Yeah

Good god your coming up with reasons
Good god your dragging it out
Good god its the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
So follow me down

And just fake it if your out of direction
Fake it if you don't belong here
Fake it if you feel like infection
Woah your such a ******** hypocrite

Whoah Whoah

I can fake with the best of anyone
I can fake with the best of em all
I can fake with the best of anyone
I can fake it all

Who's to know if your soul will fade at all
The one you sold to fool the world
You lost your self-esteem along the way
Yeah

Good god your coming up with reasons
Good god your dragging it out
Good god its the changing of the seasons
I feel so raped
So follow me down

And just fake it if your out of direction
Fake it if you don't belong here
Fake it if you feel like infection
Woah your such a ******** hypocrite

Fake it if your out of direction
Fake it if you don't belong here
Fake it if you feel like infection
Woah your such a ******** hypocrite

Soundgarden - Superunknown

If this isnt what you see
It doesnt make you blind
If this doesnt make you feel
It doesnt mean youve died
Where the rivers high
Where the rivers high

If you dont want to be seen
You dont have to hide
If you dont want to believe
You dont have to try
To feel alive

Alive in the superunknown
First it steals your mind
And then it steals your soul

If this doesnt make you free
It doesnt mean youre tied
If this doesnt take you down
It doesnt mean youre high
If this doesnt make you smile
You dont have to cry
If this isnt making sense
It doesnt make it lies

Alive in the superunknown
First it steals your mind
And then it steals your soul

Get yourself afraid
Get yourself alone
Get yourself contained
Get yourself control

Alive in the superunknown

First it steals your mind
And then it steals your. . .soul

...
People worry that I don't do anything
I think they really wonder
Why I'm not like them

They're racing to a prison
They will never leave
Worshipping a system
I just don't believe

"the trees" Rush

"There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees, for the maples want more sunlight and the oaks ignore there pleas(enters hard rock) THERES TROUBLE WITH THE MAPLES, AND THERE QUITE CONVINCED THERE RIGHT! BECAUSE THE OAKS ARE JUST TO LOFTY! We will make them GIVE US LIGHT! but hte oaks cant help their fealings, if they like the way they're made. and they wonder why the maples cant be happy in there shade. BEow BEOW BEOW BEWO BEEWO(guitar solow) BEOISDFODSIFJOSDIFJ BEW BEW BEW BEWOOOEWBOEI(I guess that is how you spell a guitar solow beow beow). So the maples formed a union, and demanded equal rights, now there no more rouged oppressions, for they passed a noble law, and the trees are long kept equal, by hatchet, ax, an sword."

Strawberry fields the beatles

" Let me take you down, cause I'm going to, strawberry fields, nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever(the song is sung in a very calm tone). Living is easy with eyes closed. Misunderstanding all you see. It's getting hard to be somone but it all works out, it doesent matter much for me( if you can read through the weed, you might see the philosophy)." Idon't feel the need to quote the rest of the song. Look it up on youtube.

Alice in wonderland

Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky, Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at, up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky...

The poem went on forever, so they had to pinch time, and now it is allways tea time.

you find god
the moment you
realize you dont need to find god

we exist
all of this
this is all god
we are everything

this is the kingdom
we are the people
so open your doors
and breathe in deeply

"Cult of Personality" by Living Colour

The mirror speaks, the reflection lies

I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

"Bright Eyes" by Blind Guardian

isolation bears hope
there's something else waiting
a promised destiny

Pink Floyd's The Wall is an allusion to Existentialism I think.

biggrin i think it is a stock pile of allusions, also including vast psychological insight and the transition from modern thought to post-modernism and the hopelessness of battling something so much larger than ourselves. just to name a few.
do you have any examples?
good day

Angels on the sideline,
Puzzled and amused.
Why did Father give these humans free will?
Now they're all confused.

Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around?
Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys
Where there's one you're bound to divide it
Right in two

Angels on the sideline,
Baffled and confused.
Father blessed them all with reason,
And this is what they choose?

Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they forge a blade
And where there's one they're bound to divide it
Right in two

Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they make a club,
And beat their brother down.
How they survive so misguided is a mystery.
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability,
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.

[Cutting it all right in two
/ Cut it all right in two]
/ Cutting our love right in two]

Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky
Fight over your lie, over blood, over anything
Fight over love, over sun, over nothing
Fight till they die,
(Ahhh!) over what? for their ending

Angels on the sideline again,
Benched along with patience and reason.
Angels on the sideline again,
Wondering where this tug of war will end.

[Cutting it all right in two
/ Cut it all right in two]
/ Cutting our love right in two]

Monolith of doubt by After Forever

The ordeal has begun
To oblige the unknown, within me

As I drown
Cannot remember, cannot think
As I sink, deep...

Near the monolith of doubt
Creeps the fear
The fear to lose yourself
In the severe reflection

I don't know
A flashing moment that has frozen me
My whole existence passed by
Through the trusted eyes of a mirror
But it wasn't me I could see

This monolith of everything that I have been
Is vacillated and aghast
The inexorable time has taught me once again
That my features will change and macerate me

See, it's me, my monolith of doubt

Tool - Lateralus

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see there is so much more
and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.

Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line.
Reaching out to embrace the random.
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.

I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
whatever will be willed of me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Spiral out. Keep going, going...

lol the album was actually intended to tell the story of syd barret (the original singer/guitarist) and his breakdown due to a case of schizophrenia that was severely agitated by all of the hallucinogenic drugs he was doing at the time. wish you were here was a concept album about roger waters' longing to have his old friend back and how he couldn't because syd had taken it all too far and screwed up his mind.

however, many different levels of meanings can be found in the lyrics of both of those albums. i will let you find your own meanings in them, and not taint your thoughts by telling mine

yeah i know about syd, a guy i used to know had a copy of an video of him tripping on mushrooms, i never wanted to watch it though, i think syd had made it as some kind of performance art, so judging from how pink floyd was WITH him i expect it was at least entertaining on some level, i expected that i would find it disturbing or obnoxious.
