Here is some basic information about tigers that I've looked up on wikipedia.com:

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is a mammal of the Felidae family, the largest of four "big cats" in the Panthera genus. Native to the mainland of Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and the largest feline species in the world. The Bengal Tiger is the most common subspecies of tiger, constituting approximately 80% of the entire tiger population, and is found in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Nepal.
The word "tiger" is taken from the Greek word "tigris". It is said that "tigris" means arrow, and that the tiger was given this name due to its speed, which was its more famous trait in Ancient times. There are nine recent subspecies of tiger, three of which are extinct, one of which is almost certain to become extinct in the near future, and five of which still occur.

I will be posting some more information about tigers and the current status of some tigers in captivity and in the wild. If any of you find some interesting facts or news about tigers feel free to post them!!!

It's wonderful to know that the government is finally stepping up to the plate. I don't know about retired workers, but he has the right idea doing something about it

Thank you for that enlightening article, Seth. It really brought tears to my eyes after reading the number of tigers from 5 years ago to today. I'm sure that the retired soldier idea will not work as they believe that their job is done and they can do with the rest of their lives as they see fit. Retired people are greedy with their time left on earth. What horrible monsters do we have in our human race, to hunt these wonderful animals?

Tsk, tsk, tsk. There's something to be said for caution despite any trust. If a tiger suddenly gets the idea you're something other than a caretaker, usually harm follows closely behind.

Sad as it may be, it's a sign that everyone will have to work together in order to save wild tigers from destruction, which includes pooling resources together.

I think an air of change will be coming about soon with this bombshells going off. Whether or not it will be enough is going to be determined by how much the world wants to save one of their favorite animals.

Something better be done to save these beautiful animals. And not just tigers, either. ALL the animals that are in trouble. sad

This is why I dislike people. Because they don't care about anything but themselves. And money. -_-

It is not right the way people treat the real king of nature. Why people have to do this I dont know. But we can step up an try to help to tigers as much as we can now so no more tigers will not die.
