also, was visiting my aunt's slightly questionable in-laws up in the mountains today for the first time and got to hold a vintage '30s tommy gun, and DUDE it's like a ton! just the stock and stuff with no clip or drum on it the thing is slightly over 10 pounds!
normally, i am a coward and hide at the sight of guns and sharp-and-pointy dangerous things, but i had to be curious when he was showing off the mini armory they had up there.
the round thingy (he called it a drum, but i don't know the actual name) for the ammo is a good pound+ itself empty, i can only imagine a full one practically dragging your arm off once it's loaded and stuff.
you never realize just how heavy those things are with the ease that people fling them around in gangster movies and stuff.
might just be me being out of shape, but my first thought after the gratuitous "this is so cool!" moment was to go "dude, how did people LIFT these things, let alone fire them?" which was followed shortly by the thought of "heh, no wonder alucard likes them, it's the old-school version of his other 'guns so big only a vampire can lift them'."
ah well, just thought i'd mention it.

re: gunz. Yeah, REAL weapons are heavy suckers. My brother likes to play with little reproduction units, airsoft stuff, and sharp pointies from vendors of ill repute. All he ever sees is the fake stuff. Good enough to 'play' with, but not something you'd want to take into a battle. Someday I'm going to buy a real sword, pay a shitload for it, and then hire someone to lift it for me.

Even though I know full well Millennium can't kill him, thats a fact.
Only a human can kill a monster, and even though The Major is mortal...He's far from human.
I loved The Majors comment on sitting back and enjoying the show, it reminded me of him...errm....conducting the music of war...
..You know, Its one of those great lines that shows just how crazy he is..

"MUSKEEEET!!!11! smile biggrin mrgreen " ((Its a side effect of Rip Van obsession...)) ....And I nearly tear a muscle trying to lift the thing. 3nodding xd yesss, which makes me glad mine is made of pvc pipe and paiper mache and comes apart in sections for easy transport. stare not that i'll ever get the chance to use it, my rip costume is going to stay in the box for a while. i'm doing a jan-ette at ohayocon this year when i'm off-duty, and ryuiichi's bunny suit another day, and alucard's coffin for a hallway group, and the last day is ALWAYS the rainbow crochet coat, fairy wings, and "glomp me and DIE!" shirt so the fans know who their friendly neighborhood Cosplay Fairy is so i can do costume repairs before the masquerade. and major is honestly and truly off his rocker, but that's why we love him. ooh, maybe alucard will end up with cat ears while shro's tormenting him? NEKO-card! whee

...I suddenly have this amazing mental image of Alucard holding his head in pain, Integra watches, she's pretty damned worried after what Herr Major said...infact, everyones on the edge of their seats...and then, after a few minutes of Alucard in agony(Oh! The literal inner conflict!).... cat ears just pop outta his head....and then...

I still want to know what the hell happened to Heinkel and the remaining Vatican agents. They ran off a few chapters back and haven't been seen since.
Makes me think that they're a major part of the conclusion.

I always think Alucard having to drag his weapons around on him, plus the extra ammo. Together the guns have to weigh about 50lbs since the Jackal alone weighs 16 kilos (2.2lb = 1 kilo). I carry a .45 with 8 rounds and a spare clip, and it gets heavy on the hip after awhile. 'Course, maybe Alucard keeps it all in the 4th dimension like Anderson does his swords.

No, Anderson keeps them in his butt. I also support the Heinkel kills the "******** Butler" much like S/he promised to, when Alucard is poisoned or what have you by paradoxical cat boy blood.

I know I would never be able to lift them. burning_eyes pfft, those COATS are kinda heavy on their own, especially after you line them. I made what was supposed to be my own personal Alu coat out of actual winter suitweight with a full lining, and the thing was like wearing one of those lead vests at the doctor's office when they do x-rays. i ended up selling it for a good chunk of change to a dude who came over for a dress fitting and talked me out of it. either way, i can imagine like pockets of infinite holding in anderson's coat, since you know he's already using "magic" for stuff like the teleporting with the book thing.
