The little kit's ears twitched lightly as she floated in the air. Her pink and black wings fluttered as she managed to stay about a foot or two above ground. Little paws dangled lazily as she floated on by.
Man, lately it's been such a bore. No one wanted to play hide-and-seek with her, not even her usual playmate Pearl. Plus! No one would read her stories when she went to sleep anymore. What was up with everyone? Such a bore.
Eager eyes swooped around the HQ, searching for anyone to play with her. No one she knew. They all seemed busy, anyway. Busy being boring that is! Who was there to entertain her now? She really wanted to play, or sit down and hear a great story of epic proportions! Or maybe both...at the same time.

It seemed that no matter how many times she attempted to get the point across, even when resorting to violence, Xianthe could not convince Tuuli of the fact that she was not, indeed, the 'evil witch', but, rather, an illusionist. Granted, attempting to convince Tuuli of anything that the perma-kit didn't agree with was an impossible task in itself, but the Nobody still was fairly relentless in wanting to be left alone already, as she did not particularly feel like playing the role of a miracle worker to some pipsqueak whom wouldn't reward her.
Working without prior payment just wasn't 'hip', you know? And for one all about the commercialism aspect of things, the chances Xianthe would do anything for a delusional kit were fairly low.
As it was, the illusionist had slipped out of the house while Tuuli and Friday went off in search of whatever it was they usually searched for, having decidedly been not all too fond of the prospect of being coerced into trying to come up with a 'counter-spell' when they returned (Xianthe had tried knocking some sense into the 'princess' that it was simply winter approaching, not some evil spell, but since when would Tuuli ever listen to logic?). Granted, HQ wasn't an ideal destination, but, given that the last two times she had visited, she had scored free food in one way or another, it didn't hurt, now did it? Entering the building, accompanied by her usual stray cat hoard, Xianthe looked around the room, checking for any signs that someone was in here, cooking in the kitchen.
Needless to say, finding a kit in place of a cook was not what she had expected.

Kira-kit was no cook. She probably would even screw up making a PB&J sandwich. And if she tried to make toast, she'd probably end up burning the entire building and its surrounding forest down. But she wasn't here to look for food, she wanted to play, or listen to stories! Or both, both would accomplish all her dreams (for now). Someone else always did the cooking for her. No one in their right mind would ask a child to make a three course meal, right? Not unless they wanted to claim the fire insurance on the house, anyway.
Her blue eyes peered over to the oddly dressed kitsu. Wasn't Halloween already over? Well, whatever, at least she looked prepared for Christmas with all those colorful things on her tails. Maybe she was one of those people at the circus that did all the magic things and made animal balloons? If that was the case, forget story time and hide-and-seek. It was time for some animal balloons. Plus, she had this giant hoarde of cats. Fuzzy animals to pet! Was it a petting zoo combined with the circus? Most awesome idea ever!
Black and pink colored wings carried the little body over towards the witch. Peering up to look her in the eyes, Kira-kit asked innocently, "Can you make me a little monkey balloon? Or a dog balloon? Or maybe you can do some magic tricks that I always see when I go to the circus? Like being chained to a box, then being put in a giant box full of water then magically escape before your breath runs out! Or could I pet one of those kitties? I like kitties." She beamed happily, yet inocently at the witch. Oh, was she going to have the time of her life.

See, now, that was almost along the lines of the same reasoning Xianthe used to get out of cooking her own meals, only, well...
Xianthe could cook, and she was twenty years past being a child. For one who made it a point to go on and on about how old she really was, it was a moot point to turn around and claim to be a child, not that she didn't try. After all, she was bound to eventually find someone with the memory span of a goldfish, right? Besides, they all tended to give up eventually, even if they didn't fall for her stories.
Giving the kit a disdainful look, the purple haired Nobody wondered when the association with 'witch' changed to 'birthday party magician', not that the two really were all that different when one thought about it. Still, she was neither, but, rather, an illusionist, and thusly found any other terms fairly offensive in nature.
"I don't make balloon animals," Xianthe rudely informed Kira-kit, "I make illusions."
She made no comment on the box of water part; getting wet was something no amount of money could convince the Nobody of doing.

She did in fact, have the attention span of a goldfish. It was closer to that of a child's, but the two were fairly similar in nature. Both had signs of ADD. As far as memory span went, hers was a bit longer than a goldfishes, but only if she cared to remember. Other than that she wouldn't remember other random things or at least wouldn't dwell too long on thinking that type of stuff.
At first she felt a little disappointed that the witch didn't make balloon animals. The sides of her face turned into a slight frown while she pouted. But the thought of illusions caught her interest. "What kind of illusions can you make? Show meee," She whinned. Could she make illusions of large dinosaurs roaming the lands, or maybe make a giant castle appear with unicorns, princesses, knights, and the such as she heard from the stories she learned about. "Can you make clones of yourself? Like 100 copies of yourself?!" Now that would certainly be one hell of an illusion. Of course, she'd probably only take interest in it for about...5 seconds, but that's not the point.

Well, that was somewhat good to know. Somewhat. It would have helped more if Kira-kit was an adult, or at least someone capable of doing things for her. After all, Xianthe had come seeking free food, not to play entertainer to a bored kit.
Trying not to scowl at the pouting, the illusionist crossed her arms over her chest as the winged kit rambled on with the questions, wondering what it would take to satisfy her. Clones of herself? Well, maybe one clone, a doppelganger that'd last long enough to distract whomever she was up against, but really?
She was skilled in creating cats.
"I can make cats," Xianthe informed Kira-kit, wanting to be done with this already, "Will that be good enough for you?"

Make cats? That's amazing! If only she shared that same ability! Then she could make cats at home all day long. She'd have new friends to play with all the time. Of course, she didn't really understand the meaning of illusion too well. She didn't realize that meant they only stayed for a while, but not for too long.
"Can I keep them? Or pet them? Can you make looooottttssss of cats? Oh, please, please, please, pleaseeeee." She nagged on. Cats! Furry, cute and soft. All small children like animals.

Hah! If Xianthe wasn't already teaching one perma-kit how to be remotely functional and useful to her, the Nobody may have offered to at least try to teach this kitsu something that'd keep herself entertained. The illusionist still wasn't too sure how some random family could be so oblivious as to send their daughter to work for her, but free labor was free labor...to some extent.
At least Marajha had no complaints about being paid in pocket change, thankfully.
"Um."
Keep them? They were illusions, for crying out loud; true, the stray cats following her around at the moment were real, but Xianthe was rather partial towards having her little feline entourage, thinking of the rabbit girl she lived with that had something similar going down with some rabbits. Of course, it was very possible that leaving a cat with this girl would guarantee the illusionist some personal space while she proceeded to raid the kitchen. Ah, decisions, decisions...
"Fine, pet 'em if you want," Xianthe told Kira-kit finally, shrugging; maybe if she got lucky, the kit'd get scratched and run back home to...wherever, "Though I don't entirely see the point in filling this room up with illusions."
She'd make one or two, anyways, if only to prove she could. Any chance for an ego boost was a chance, indeed, in the end, though the Nobody wasn't about to conjure up an entire congregation of felines just to entertain a bored kit. For all Xianthe knew, after all, there would be demands to see them all do a musical number from one of those disney movies.

Her face lit up like a Christmas tree when the older Kitsu gave her permission to pet the little furry ones. Kitties! She loved animals! They were all so cute and fluffy. She reached out a hand to slowly and gently pet the little one on the head. She had some experience with animals. There were some pretty weird ones back home. Like that giant Nightmare Lilith. That was one big blind kitty.
"Aww, why nott?" She pouted. An entire room of kitties would be the most epic thing since...slice bread. They could all dance and sing together like she saw in those movies. And then magically a few of them will make more kitties! The more the merrier. She could die happy then.
