-Akatsuki Southern Base Perimeter-
The perimeter of the southern Akatsuki base is moderate in size. There are some trees, but for the most part, the land around it is limited and there are many scattered lakes.

Mika stopped at the edge of one of the lakes, panting to catch her breath. A large wolf arrived a few seconds later. "I win again, Tomo-chan!" the girl yelled. Tomo sat down and started to pout. "C'mon Tomo-chan, it's just a race," Mika said. Sitting down, she realized that someone was missing. "Aya-chan, where are you?" Mika yelled, looking around. "Hurry up, slowpoke!" she yelled into the air, and then lay back, relaxing.

The woman arrived at the perimeter, narrowing her eyes. An eerie silence covered the land, some solitary trees rising over the ground. Amaya noticed many small ponds, making the place a really dangerous place to be, if ambushed. There weren't many places to hide, so, if encountered, they would have to fight one on one. This idea troubled her; she was older than her partner, so she had the responsability to protect her. She was taught that way by her family. Never leave companions behind; be their source of protection.
The kunoichi's thoughts were broken, hearing Mika's yell. Amaya blinked, gazing in front of her. When had the girl run faster than her, leaving her behind? Chuckling, the woman shook her head. She really wished she had the energies of that girl. Listening to her words, Amaya furrowed her brows. "Slowpoke, huh?" Channeling her chakra to her legs, the woman ran at incredible speed, reaching the girl, standing in front of her. "You were saying?" she taunted, poking Mika's forehead. Thought she was older than the girl for almost ten years, Amaya still had her childish, competitive side.
Returning to her serious self, the woman continue walking, now in a slower pace. "Come on, we got to be careful from now on...We are in enemy's territory. We need to be quiet, and attentive."

"Hey, at least I don't boost my speed using chakra!" Mika yelled at her teammate. Mika followed after her, listening to what she had to say. "C'mon, Aya-chan, I have a really good sense of smell and hearing, and I am pretty sure that there isn't anybody around for a few miles at least. We can just relax and take our time, we'll be fine."

The woman smiled, hearing her comment. Maybe her teammate was right, and she was being way to cautious...but that was the way she was taught, and her way of being. She really didn't question Mika's abilities, but she, to be calm, needed to be alert...always. But, she would just follow the girl for now. "Well, okay..." she muttered reluctantly.

"Yay!" Mika yelled. "So, what should we do first? Maybe we should go for a swim? Or have another race? Or maybe practice? Yeah, let's practice!". Mika started looking aroung at all of the different trees. "That one, right there!" It was by far the largest tree around. "Let's get started!"

Tyrae's voice came clearly into Mika and Amaya's thoughts thanks to the sensor. "There's someone back at headquarters who shouldn't be there. Could the two of you please go and check it out. If anyone is there, get them out."

"AH!" Mika yelled when she heard Tyrae's voice in her head. Calming herself, she said "Hai, Leader-sama, we will be there shortly". She then turned to Amaya, who had also heard the message. "So, Aya-chan, what should we do? Should I go ahead of you? Wait behind? I don't think that it would be wise to use any of our chakra before we get there? What do you think?"

The message repeated inside the kunoichi's mind. The thought of being decieved by the Akatsuki made her furious. It was just a trap for them to leave the base defenceless. She turned to her partner, unable to speak. A rush of ideas invaded her brain, thinking about ways to get there fast, and sucessfully taking the invader out. She heard Mika's suggestions, and she was right. They should keep their chakra as full as possible, but how to get there fast enough without it?
Amaya placed a hand on her forehead, shadowing her eyes. She always did that to mantain calm. "Let's move out. Arriving at the base, we should check the seriousness of the threat, then, we attack. We should check strategies our way there. There's no time to lose."
