Ok, I haven't read it yet, but the Diary of Ellen Rimbauer is a prequel to Rose Red. I'm not sure if Rose Red is just a movie or if there is a book about it to. Anyways The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer describes her life. She married some rich guy and they built a house on Indian burial grounds. Which causes the house itself to be haunted. I don't want to say to much more, because then it might spoil the book, but yeah that's the basis of the story.

That's pretty much right. I own the book and enjoyed it. Interestingly enough though, I have owned the movie for about 3 years and still haven't watched it yet. I have a hard time sitting down to watch a 4+ hour movie. No offense to wordslinger King of course.
