I just saw Platoon for the first time a few months ago. I knew Johnny was in it, but I completely missed him. When it was over, I kept second guessing myself thinking maybe I was wrong. I've since gone back and found him. His part was pretty small, but the movie was still great.

Yeah. I haven't seen it yet myself, but in a Johnny biography on tv I heard that there was this whole issue because he shot a lot of parts for Platoon and then they cut almost all. They play an uncut version on tv sometimes. I'm waiting for them to play it again to I can see. sweatdrop

i watched it once. well, part of it anyways. i was flipping through the channels and there was this war thingie on. i was all... well, nothing else is on. and then i saw johnny. so happy was i. but then after only a few minutes his character was killed. so i stopped watching it. no point after that...

We had to watch it in history and I really hated it but I hadn't reaised Johnny was in it. I'm not intending to watch it either, I try to avoid platoon.

As a movie, it was great. You don't tsee movies made like this anymore. Everything's all computer generated and crap but in this movie it's all so realistic. And it was amazing.
Unfortunately, since it was so realistic it greatly disturbed me. Everyone was just so mean to eachother and times were rough. Every second word was f*ck and it kind of got annoying at times. But I understand that that's what it was like during actual war times.
This movie made me sad. sad

again with the war movies. i have seen parts of this i know that much but i am so set against war in general that i will not watch or read anything about it. i got in so much trouble when i was in highschool because i refused to read catch 22.

Platoon was a great movie. Johnny isn't in it a lot, but I heard the dvd release has some more clips with him in it. It really was a good movie regardless though.^^

I really loved this movie. Johnny had a much larger part than he did..but the director cut out most of his part..which he was greatly upset about since he had put so much work/time into his part.
He still wears the combat boots he wore while making that movie to this day! smile

Knew he was in it, so thats why i watched it.
I watched it with my friend and it came to the point when he was on and we didn't notice him
I had to go back =(
Yea he did have a larger part, and it was a good.
Watch it on youtube!
Good film though

I usually don't care for war movies, but I saw that Johnny Depp was in the movie on his web site, so I watched it. His part was small, but I kept rewinding to that part to see him again and again. Johnny <3
