This movie was so sad! Yet... happy... one of those crazy films you know? The acting was done very well! Each character had there own distinct personality and evolved as the story progressed. Though i was surprised by who did die in it... not what i expected!

What's Eating Gilbert Grape was the first movie my friend saw that starred Depp.. then she saw PoTC and fell in love with Depp and only until i told her it was the same person did she realize he was Gilbert too (he plays gilbert right? i dont know.. never seen it..)

yeah he plays gilbert, and you should see it! now prepare urself, it's definetly a different character than jack sparrow... but still a great performance!

This is probably my favorite JD movie, as a whole. As far as performances, I'd say maybe Pirates. He's mostly the whole reason I watch that movie. I love it, but Will and Elizabeth really get on my nerves.

I don't care for Leonardo DiCaprio, but he was really amazing in this movie. He almost outshone Johnny! I thought the ending was sooo sad. It made me cry.

lol this movie was on tv yesterday, i ended up watching most of it. the first time i saw it i didn't even realize it was him. *it was a few years ago* he did an amazing job playing his role tho.

i never liked that movie very much becausewen i watched it i got sick to my stomach. i cant believe leonardo dicapreo plays a retarded kid.

Indie_Marauder I don't care for Leonardo DiCaprio, but he was really amazing in this movie. He almost outshone Johnny! I thought the ending was sooo sad. It made me cry. Yeah I feel the same way. I'm certainly no DiCaprio fan but he was brilliant in that movie. Perhaps it's also that his character is more interesting than Johnny Depp's, but I really liked him bettet than Depp here

I watched that movie at my friends house the other night for the first time, its pretty good but not my favorite movie that hes in.

I loved this movie when i first watched it. I mean Leonardo's character was breath taking since I also love Leonardo DeCaprio. Johnny Depp's character Gilbert was timeless as well. I think it was his many serious roles that he pulled off rather well.
I think it was the classic tale of anyone that has to take care of an over weight mother with a handicapped son, him being the "perfect"one of course. I mean it would most likely cause a lot of stress on him.
Simply suberb!!
