I was just wondering what your guy's opinions on memoriam Tattoos was... Do you think they are okay? Do you have one? If so for what/whom? Are you going to get one? I so for what/whom?
Okay I will answer first. They are fine. It all depends on what your doing though... I do not have one right now. I am getting one Saturday. It's for my cat cause he disapeared and he helped me though a lot... Some of you are probably like "A memoriam tat... for a cat?? WTF???" Well I don't care, I love him. He always helped... and I wish he were here right now to help... I miss him.

I think they are fantastic. As long as you know you want to remember what the person/pet was to you.
I don't have one. And probably won't ever get one. I try not to get too attached to things that die. Defense mechanism I suppose.

I'm pretty much planning on getting one for my cat when she dies. She's been my child for eleven years at this point - who knows for how much longer - and she's helped me through so much. I totally understand and I think it's completely acceptable. Go for it!

I think they are perfectly fine to get. I think getting one, sort of helps you grieve a little bit, I know it helped me when I got mine.
Yes, I do have one. I got it just over a year ago for my older sister Susan, who passed away in December of 2005 from brain tumors. She was 21. This is what it looks like:

Based off my own design, it's her zodiac sign (leo). this picture was taken like...two nights ago.

Memorial tattoos are fine. In fact, I find them much more appealing than a heart tattoo with a previous lover's name inscribed inside. If I were to get one, however, it wouldn't be a picture and letters. (I don't like letters that much. Hmm.) My mother has a memorial tattoo that is just a small rose imposed over her heart. Its for my elder sister Rebecca and younger sister Victoria who both died in infancy. I'm going to get one myself some day, for the sisters I didn't get to know.

I love[lovelove] them, so long as they aren't portrait tattoos. . . those are just so hit-or-miss, and it seems so sad when they turn out horrible.

I dislike portrait tattoos as well, but if it's really special to you, go ahead.

I was just wondering what your guy's opinions on memoriam Tattoos was...
Do you think they are okay? Yes, I think theyre wonderful. I think its a really beautiful way of expressing how someone will always be with you.
Do you have one? If so for what/whom? Yes, for my sister Niqui, its a stained glass butterfly.
Are you going to get one? I so for what/whom? Already have one.
But I agree with six speed. Portrait tattoos are hit or miss and it sucks big time when they get screwed up.

Okay so I just wanted to show every one my tattoo now, since you all answered my questions. Lol. Sorry it's been so long. sweatdrop But here it is: My cat's paw print. And here's one I got a month or two before the paw print: This was a memorium tat for one of my best friends who comitted suicide. She always said "You are the black rose in my bouquet of white." So, I got a black rose in memoreal to her.

When I turn 18 I am getting a tattoo of a lilly on the back of my neck for my grandma who passed away. I think they are a beautiful tribute to the person/people you care about.
