Love.
Really, it's a word that is carelessly thrown about. But what I want is the REAL, the WHOLE definition of what love really is.
I have someone I like. Actually, scratch that. Two. Both of them are my friends. One of them is one of my best guy friends, as well as the other.
...You know what, this is too confusing. Let's just 'name' them as...
Matt and David [very cliched made-up names, I know...].
So, I know that David likes another girl. But in reality, I don't really care; I just like him.
I also 'think' I lke Matt. I feel as if I'm confusing my friendship feelings for him as like. But here's the thing; I know that Matt likes me. And I don't know WHO told him, but he knows that I like David, and possibly him as well. But he thinks that I won't like him because of David.
And the girl who is liked by David, [this is also not her real name]Emily, knows that David likes her. And really, it's irritating her to no end. So, she wants my friend [changed name] Jenny and I to make him stop liking her.
It's all really confusing, I know. XD My, my, high school drama for me. -shakes head-
I find both of them to be nice, kind, funny, and such. I don't know what I should be feeling in friendship, and what I should be feeling when I like someone. :/
So, I just want to know how to solve this problem. :]
Discuss: -My problems? -How do I solve it? -Love vs. Friendship -What IS love to you?

Finally, I summon up my strength to answer! =D
In my point of view, love is a type of selflessness where you care for someone so much you would die for them. Your whole life revolves around them, but not in a creepy stalker sort of way.
But this is just the opinion of a girl who has never experienced love.
I think that love is something very pure, so I tend to shrug crushes off as something minor. I mean, compared to actual love. I have a friend who claims to have crushes on maybe ten guys.
Anywho!
Crushes come and go very quickly. If you don't care that David likes someone else, then your feelings aren't very deep. At all. Sorry if it sounds a little harsh, but if you seriously don't care that your feelings are reciprocated? Then you're just attracted to him. There is potential for a crush, but there isn't one now.
You can't make someone stop liking someone else. Tell Emily this. The only person who can make him stop liking her is David himself.
Frankly, if it were me, I'd give Matt a chance. You know he likes you. You may like him back. Try going on a date. See how it turns out. Most successful couples start out with just basic attraction. You don't have to be head-over-heels to start a relationship. You may find that he really suits you after you've spent time with him in a romantic way.
I wish you luck with your decision, and I apologize if the advice came too late. xD
