This is definitely one of my favorite Johnny movies. When I first saw it, it was really confusing and I didn't like it that much. But then I kept thinking about it and trying to make sense of it and I bought the dvd and now I love it. A lot of people say it's a bad movie, and I suppose it could be because there are a lot of things in it that are confusing and stupid and the storyline is weird, but I like it.

It's one of those satanist movies ((which makes sense when u look at the title)) and for some reason it made me think of the davinci code... of course i havent finished it yet but the whole more being there than what you see thing.... its crazy! but back to the movie. JOhnny Depp played the part well, once again prooving the wide variety of parts he can play.

he looked ExAcTlY like a teacher i had in middle school in this movie. waaaaaay freaky.
i haven't seen all of it, and the only part i did see i saw a long time ago. *makes mental note to watch again*

i thought this movie was really messed up, the part where they were having sex out side a burning building...o.0... it was really messed, but i loved it johnny depp played a great character like always.

You know, I never realized it was Johnny Depp in Ninth Gate till I saw this thread... The movie was indeed strange, but I appreciated it. ^_^
And although I haven't read the book, I'm reminded of the DaVinci Code as well.

Jedi_Junkie You know, I never realized it was Johnny Depp in Ninth Gate till I saw this thread... The movie was indeed strange, but I appreciated it. ^_^
And although I haven't read the book, I'm reminded of the DaVinci Code as well. not to get off topic, but i started reading the da vinci code ((had to stop to study for exams though stressed )) and now that u mention it your right it does seem to have that whole... hidden conspiracy deal going on, if thats what you would call it.

People who say it sucks don't understand it, mind you me I fell asleep attempting to watch it at 4am. *mew* And tv cuts out alot..*is impatient and wants to watch it again*

I haven't seen this in the longest time! M ybf just got it though with Saw for free (yea pre-order deals) and now I'll get to watch it soon again heart

Hah~ That happened to me too. I tried to watch it at like... 1am and halfway through the movie I just started dozing off repetitively. When I finally pulled myself awake I looked at the screen and was like "How did I end up at this part!?" It was sad. So I gave up, turned it off and went ot bed. sweatdrop

This movie always seemed to confuse me. I don't know what it is. I've only seen it on t.v. so maybe the cut out some important parts. I just never really understood it. I get that he's some book collecter dude who works for this guy who tells them to get all the originals or something of this book. then his life is in danger and the guy he gets the books for is an evil maniac. I dont know. its just weird.

I watched it just a while ago and thought it was good but quiet unnerving at the same time. The woman in it who's supposed to be his angel looks like my sis's friends mum and the scene at the end really is disturbing! eek
|

I absolutely adore this movie, i'm not sure why...but i do. It was on TV last night to ^_^ it was really good, (why shouldn't it be?).
The first time you watch your like "wait...WHAT?" and then the next time it more along the lines of "oh, i get it now!"
