Well, the Golden Compass is coming out as a movie tomorrow, and I found the first five minutes posted on you-tube for those that just can't wait. I love how they develop the characters, especially Lyra and Lord Asriel.
Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxt72D9E-X4
I don't really like how they mention the panserbjorne and witches and gyptians a bit early. Well, the gyptians can be mentioned early, I suppose, but not how they did it. Although the title and all that still looks cool. What do other people think of it?
Edit: Well, someone else voted on the poll. That's something, I guess. C'mon, people post your opinions! I'd like this guild to remain somewhat alive. XD

I thought the first part was okay. I wish they wouldn't have mentioned dust and other worlds quite so quickly though. I like how in HDM as you move through they books you discover more and more about all the different worlds and different kind of people. But it did funtion good for telling audiences who hadn't read the books what was going on, or at least a rought overview. xd

But I do love how the characters start to develop as soon as possible, especially the 10-second scene that introduces Lord Asriel. Pure gold, how he brushed aside that servant. The actors are great. ^_^

I think that really encompassed her lying/making up stories/imaginative nature. I also loved Sam Elliott as Lee Scoresby!

I saw the movie a little more than a week ago, and the actors are all just amazing. heart I'm just glad they managed to squeeze some good character development into such a small amount of time, since they had to cut out so many of the wonderful little scenes that weren't really important to the plot.
