well... I've written a couple of short stories, but I haven't published them (nor are they good enough get published... I don't think lol) If publishing a book is what you are really asking about, there's some great advice in the writer's forum here is the link

I've written sections of one I haven't thrown away or dropped yet, but haven't really committed to, either. I've also written a couple of shorts, a few random pieces, and lots of poetry.
The Writer's Forum is a big place for getting great writing advice, once you dig through all of the useless spam threads that are always there. After all, there is only so much our small coven of people, not all of which are even writers, can do to help with the broad subject of writing. I would suggest visiting this thread, as it has some very useful links. If there are any specific questions you may have or pieces you want to share, I'd be glad to give a more in depth and personal opinion of my own.

well, from one amature to another. i have not written a complete book yet, but i DO have about 20 unfinished books. (all of which, poorly written or not, i do NOT throw away) for me it doesn't matter if it's good or not, just getting your thoughts and feelings out on paper can make something amazing! (even if it sucks at first) my advice for writing books is, Give as much detail as possible, let the ideas flow add the most random stuff!, write a rough draft first...(that way you can edit later, and it usually turns out to be something really good), and have fun writing it! most times, if you don't have fun writing it, people won't have fun reading it...
