 Kyrani padded through the trees tail swishing low behind her not quite touching the ground; her breath coming out misty in the evenings cold air.
She hadn't had much contact with her new clan and she'd rather not for a time, other Tokoro made her nervous. Which was why she was out walking instead of curled up in a tight ball asleep, plus there was something about the night she found alluring. A stillness that was a soothing balm to her disrupted nerves.
A night bird called hauntingly and a smile crept onto her face, a urge to jump around like a kit wheedling it's way past her calm demeanor. Giving in she pranced in place for a moment then sat and closed her eyes listening to the sounds, lost in thought...

Satichai was fond of wandering in the deepest hours of night, himself. He watched the female bounce from the shadow of a tree and spoke before he moved, his voice rich with amusement. "So what's one like you doing out and alone on a night like this?"

Kyrani Kyrani jumped out of her daze as a masculine Tokoro voice broke her train of thought. She spun around, fur puffing a little around her shoulders in agitation. Why hadn't she heard him come up?
Her heart momentarily in her throat she searched until she saw yellow eyes blinking from the shadows of a tree, she relaxed only slightly in knowing where he was... who ever he was.
His question filtered through as she composed herself sitting with a flick of her tail and looking at him warily."I'm here because I like being here, and I'm not alone now am I? Not with you about scaring away half a year of my life the way you did." She knew she was being rude but the adrenaline from being startled was now seeping away leaving her shy and defensive again.

"Only half a year?" He grinned and now his teeth were visible too as he padded forward. "Guess I'll have to work harder if I want more than that, eh?"

Kyrani smiled despite herself, but stood as he drew closer, still wary of this shadowed stranger... moonlight filtering through the trees above lightly brushed his fur for a moment revealing it to be so dark as to be shadows himself, no wonder her eyes hadn't been picking up on him well.
she tilted her head at an angle "And what are you doing out here? Who are you, for that matter?"

His shoulder rolled in a shrug. "I like being out when it's darkest. Easier to get done what needs doing. The sun's too hot for me, most days. And I," he answered, "am Satichai. Who are you?"

Kyrani sat again pretending indifference " I am Kyrani, It's a pleasure to me you Satichai." he tail switched nervously. "Ummn..so... umn..." she stumbled over her words not knowing what else to say. If she didn't have fur she would be turning red from her nose to the tip of her tail, she just knew it. Wind shifted the trees above and a leaf dropped to land on her head, adding to her discomfited look.

He laughed without apology. "Very distinguished," he said. "Though if you made it droop over one eye, it might look mysterious."

Kyrani pawed the offending leaf off her head and dropped on her head in embarrassment... the sound of his voice rackled her though...she raised her head again with a wicked grin on here face. Standing she walked closer to Satichai in a kind of swaying strut and dropped the leaf onto his head, adjusting it so it fell 'rakishly' over one eye. "I think 'mysterious' suits you better." She breathed into his ear, embarrassment and shyness momentarily forgotten until she realized how close she was to him then casually took a few steps back before her instincts made her take stumbling steps back and hence make her look as uncomfortable and as she felt. She was proud she maintained composer...kinda... since loosing a leaf on someones head probably didn't qualify as maintaining composer. at this thought she chuckled out loud and glanced, eyes half lidded, at her handy work.

He didn't mind her swaying closer. Nooot at all, actually. He watched, admired and appreciated, then chuckled low and tilted his ear when she spoke into it. Nope, not protesting at all. He didn't even laugh when she backed off.
He grinned instead, made the leaf even more droopy, and *grinned* at her. "Maybe you're right. Mystery. I like it."

Kyrani brought a paw up to cover a smile and a blush then gave up and laughed outright. The leaf looked rediculous. The laughter died off, but a slight smile stayed as she schooled her voice to seriousness. "Oh yes just full of mystery... and charming I might add...," she paused "...which makes me think I should be worried." She said jokingly, but her smile slipped a little more crooked. He was charming and knew it, which she both liked and knew was nothing but trouble. She flicked her tail with remaining wariness.

Satichai shook himself and the leaf dropped off. He'd already forgotten it. "Worried? Why? If I planned to hurt you, I could have by now," he all but purred.

Kyrani stood, offended by his flippant threat. " Oh really now." at this she turned flipping her tail at him and heading towards the nearest tree to start shimmying up it. Then she re-though and jumped from half way up the unbranched part of the trunk to land some paces in front of Satichai, and walked towards him. " What makes you think that you could have hurt me?" the anger was apparent in her voice through a soft sensual purr as she advanced, she did not like being threatened. People met her and she got shy. Spend some time with them and she wasn't shy anymore. She stopped directly in front of Satichai looked him in the eyes... then let it go. It's not like he had actually threatened her, just made a stupid casual remark . She turned away again embarrassed by her response, not her actions. She didn't usually react that way to stupid comments. He probably thought he was being flirty and cute... shows what he knows. She flicked her tail , incidentally brushing his chin as she made her way back to the tree she had started to climb before losing it... those who acted like they always got what they want had always irritated her, but his confidence was also attractive....bother.

It hadn't at all been a threat, but rather an assurance that he wasn't one. He didn't laugh when she climbed away, and simply sat when she leapt down in front of him again. His eyes danced though. Oh, this one had some spunk.
"You didn't know I was here," he pointed out. "Could have jumped you, bitten you..." In the right circumstances, a tussle could be fun. "But I didn't."
He watched her go again, rubbing his chin, still amused.

Kyrani paused at what he said and tilted her head to the side " No you didn't... and although you had the element of surprise you in your jump I would have had the chance to defend myself and like as not You not I would have been injured." She smiled to herself and flicked her tail as she climbed to the lowest branch. Turning to Satichai she flicked her tail again " None the less, would you like to join me for a stroll?" her voice was a little aloof, but a small bit of hpefulness wormed it's way into her voice even as her brain was saying' what are you doing, you know better fool.'
