Hrm... Well... That's a bit confusing. Don't you think it's a bit unfair that fourth and fifth get the same amount of points?
In a Mario Kart Grand Prix, The score goes like this:
1st-10
2nd-8
3rd-6
4th-4
5th-3
6th-2
7th-1
8th and on-0
Shouldn't it be a bit more like this? It doesn't seem fair that 4th and 5th get the same amount of points.

It doesn't seem fair that 4th and 5th get the same amount of points. I agree with this method. Why should everyone who gets beyond 8th place get any points for that matter?

That is just the ranking system that they used at a local lan center. It seemed to work fine.
I can change it easily because we havent done anything yet. razz

So only ten can make it on this list... so im guessing people will be fighting alot of tournaments just to try and get higher up, i know that when the game comes out this guild should be flooded people so it may be hard to manage, it's best to keep things simple with mario kart styled points neutral

So it will actually be pretty easy

Well, the first guild tourney is scheduled for February 23rd... so I guess not too often. But, one tournament a week, maybe every other week, would be nice and regular for me. But I would LOVE for these things to be on Saturdays.

lol none of you considered that the only single placements in double elim are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. there will always be ties for 5th, 7th, 9th, etc.
unless of course you do round robin w/ the whole guild but that would take forever.
so basically you will have to re do the point system. should be like this....
1st - 10
2nd - 7 or 6
3rd - 4
4th - 3
5th - 2
7th - 1
also once you start getting placings you should seed brackets by ranking. so say I win 1st tourney, I'd be the top seed. stuff like that, you know so top players dont play 1st round or whatever.
