This was how things stood for us when we got married. Thank you stop-loss, now he's getting ready to go again-- and it was a mistaken stop-loss at that.
Be prepared for to do all the work yourself for periods of time. If you guys are looking to stay in at all, eventually you will need to take another dirty-boots station, and even if it's non-deploying, there will still be field exercises and other things that will keep him in the field for long periods of time.
