Piper would have to turn back to Pewter City to wait for her "special guest", but she had plenty of time to train. She might as well train on this route that's a little past Pewter. She needed to train her pokemon for contests. Truthfully, she hadn't heard of any current contests, but she figured she would. Maybe there are some Jigglypuff--but right then, as if fate, a Jigglypuff appeared. Piper scrambled in her bag searching for Sparkle's pokeball. She didn't want to miss her chance. Since she saw the Jigglypuff in the Pewter City Pokemon Center, she decided that she wanted one. it would be great for contests and even help her when she couldn't sleep. But mainly contests. She finally gripped Sparkle's pokeball. She tossed it out and out came Sparkle, the little tiny yellow pokemon. The Jigglypuff looked up, then it grew a fierce look on its face. Piper knew she couldn't give it the chance to sing, because that would put her and Sparkle to sleep.

"Sparkle, thunderhsock then tailwhip. Keep doing those things and don't give it any spare time," Piper said.

Sparkle did as it was told and released a line of electricity and hit the Jiggypuff. Before it could recover, Sparkle had followed up with tailwhip. But then, the Jigglypuff hit back. It pounded Sparkle with its tiny hands, but it seemed to pack a punch. Piper didn't see a way to stop the Jigglypuff from singing--it was too late. it was already preparing to. But Sparkle knew what to do. It ran as fast as it could using thundershock, which created a weak sheild of electricity around it, but it worked. It hit the Jigglypuff just in time.

"Now, go, pokeball," Piper tossed a pokeball at the Jigglypuff. It took it in with a red light and started shaking...
It was caught! Piper was so afraid she wouldn't catch it adn never get another chance to catch one, but she caught it. She ran and picked up the pokeball.

"Might as well give it a name," she said. She knew she pretty much stunk at picking names, but names meant that they were hers--and only hers.

"Loqui," she said. She never knew where s came from, but she always seemed to pick one out of no where.

"Loqui it is," she said as she headedn back toward Pewter City. She was too excited to actually train. She'd do that tomorrow.

Natsuko emerged onto Route 3 humming a soft song to herself as she walked along the path. It was not long, however, before her high from beating Brock was shattered by the appearance of a girl walking towards her hastily. Natsuko, for a moment, thought that maybe the girl was going to walk right past her, that possibly she was in a hurry to get back to Pewter or something like that, and so she stepped off to the side of the path to allow the girl to walk by her. However, instead teh girl shifted with her, marching straight up to her and standing right in front of her with her hands on her hips.

"Let's battle," she said simply, looking at Natsuko like she was determined to defeat her. Natsuko, having just beaten a gym leader, was more than willing to put the girl's skills to the test and show her what kind of trainer she really was, and so she nodded, the girl backing up to put some distance between them for the battle. The first pokemon that the girl released was a Pidgey, which Natsuko had to admit was not nearly as intimidating after facing Brock's Onix. Reaching into her bag, Natsuko pulled out Metapod's pokeball, releasing her pokemon into the space between them. "Mari, start off with a tackle attack," she called out, wanting to get a jump on the battle before the girl had a chance to do anything. The Pidgey eyed the oncoming Metapod with a hungry look in her eye, but Mariposa was not intimidated in the slightest. Rushing forwards in a tackle attack, she managed to hit the pidgey full force, knocking it back in the air slightly as it hovered, waiting for an order from it's trainer.

"Pidgey, use sand attack," the girl called out, and pidgey began to flap it's wings hard at the ground kicking up a cloud of dust that did lower Metapod's accuracy. It was going to be a lot harder for her to attack in these conditions, but Natsuko was not worried at the moment. Mari tried another tackle attack, but in the dust cloud her attack missed, and instead, the Pidgey managed to hit a tackle attack of her own. The good thing that came out of it was that Mariposa now knew which direction the Pidgey was coming from, and so another tackle attack smashed itno the pidgey, dealing critical damage and knocking the pidgey onto the ground where it fainted. Natsuko could only smile as she looked at her pokemon, once more victorious in battle. Sighing, her opponent called back her fainted pokemon, and then released another Pidgey into the battle.

"This one won't lose," she said with a confident smile while Natsuko recalled Mariposa back to her pokeball. "We'll see about that, do it Rattata," she called out, releasing the purple rat pokemon out into the field. Immediately, he looked at the Pidgey and let out a loud cry as she rushed forwards in a quick attack. The Pidgey did not have a chance to move before Rattata was upon it, the quick attack connecting perfectly. Once more, the girl called out for Pidgey to use Sand-Attack, but with a tackle attack, Rattata slammed into the pidgey, knocking it back once more. Pidgey flew forwards in a tackle attack which hit Rattata, but the impact only made her pokemon more aggressive. Leaping forwards in one more tackle attack, Rattata knocked Pidgey to teh ground, where it fainted. The girl returned her fainted pokemon and sighed, handing Natsuko the prize money she had won. As the girl sulked away, Matsuko returned Rattata to his pokeball, heading on her way.

After a little while, Natsuko decided that it was time for a little rest. Releasing Bloo from his pokeball, the two of them went to sit down in a little grassy area to relax for a few minutes before they continued on their journey. However, before they could sit down, there was a rustle in the grass to the left of them. Squirtle jumped in front of his trainer as a female Nidoran scurried out of the grass, looking at the two of them and blinking her huge eyes a few times as she just sat there. It took Nat a fraction of a second to decide that she wanted that pokemon.

"Bloo, water gun," she called out, and her faithful pokemon nodded, immediately jumping into action. Shooting a foreceful stream of water at the wild pokemon, that was enough to weaken it enough where Natsuko felt she could throw a pokeball at it and capture it. Pulling an empty pokeball from her bag, Natsuko threw it at the Nidoran, holding her breath as she saw it disappear in a flash of red into the ball. Three shakes, and Natsuko could hardly contain herself. Everything was going so well! She had her first badge, and now she had another awesome pokemon to train. Bloo ran forwards, grabbed the new pokemon and ran back to Natsuko, who took the new ball and placed it in her bag with the rest of her team. Picking up her friend, the two of them went over and sat down underneath a tree, relaxing back. "Things can't possibly get any better," she said, stroking Bloo on the head with a content sigh. Secretly, however, she hoped they would.

Natsuko grinned down at Bloo as the two of them continued on down Route 3. The sun was getting lower and lower in the sky, and before long the two of them would need to make camp. Still, she wanted to get as far as she could while there was still light. They had been travelling a long time, but she was too excited to sit and do nothing for one night. Thankfully, however, her prayers were answered. A little ways ahead of them, there was a sihlouette in the fading light, beginning to move towards the duo. A bug catcher emerged into her line of sight, Natsuko having to admit that she was not too happy to be facing on of these again. She had gotten enough of them back in the forest. He challenged her to a battle, and she was only too happy to accept - she wanted to show off her new badge anyways. That badge was a symbol that she was the most talented trainer in these parts - at least she liked to think of it that way. Maybe he already had the basdge, but with a love for bug pokemon like that, she had no idea how he would have beaten Brock's Onix.

The first pokemon he released into the battle was a Caterpie, which Natsuko was all too familiar with. Deciding to see what her new pokemon was made of, she released Lili into the battle, the pokemon giving a caring glance back to her trainer before turing her attention to the battle. It was a rather short one. Caterpie had tried using a tackle attack on Lili, but Nat's pokemon was too quick and teh caterpie had isntead hit one of her spikes. Unfortunately for the bug pokemon, no matter hwo resistant it might be, it had been poisoned by the attack, so one scratch attack later and the little green pokemon was down for the count. Grudgingly, the Bug Trainer called back his first pokemon, releasing yet another Caterpie. Natsuko heaved a soft sigh - these guys never seemed to get it. Calling Lili back, Natsuko thought that it was best just to end this one quickly. Bloo jumped forward into battle, the Caterpie seeming to realize that it was already out matched. The only one who did not seem to get it was the other trainer. The caterpie made a feeble attempt to attack with a tackle, but Bloo just ducked downinto his shell with a withdraw attack, then sprayed the Caterpie with a water gun, causing it to faint.

At this point, she could tell that the other trainer was getting rather annoyed that he was unable to stand up to Natsuko. Natsuko, on the other hand, could only grin as he pulled out his last pokeball, releasing a Weedle into the battle. Another bug pokemon - this was just too rich. Bloo stepped back out of the battle, Natsuko releasing Mariposa. She could tell that the green cocoon was getting bigger - in fact it looked like it was swelling from the inside. The weedle shot a poison sting attack at her Metapod, but a few tackles from Mariposa were enough to take out the little yellow caterpillar. Giving a shout of annoyance, the Bug Catcher took off towards Pewter to heal his pokemon as Natsuko turned her attention to Mari. The cocoon began to squirm slightly, a bright white light enveloping her. Natsuko sheidled her eyes from the light, but as it subsided, she peeked through her fingers to see a Butterfree hovering in the air where her Metapod had been before. Letting out a squeal of delight, she lunged forwards, throwing her arms around her new treasure, Butterfree giving a cry of happiness, nuzzling her cheek against Nat's head. "Wow Mari, you grew fast," she said with a small giggle, releasing her new pokemon from her vice grip. Squirtle said soemthing to Mari that caused a sound like laughter to escape from the pokemon, the three of them beginning to walk to the side of the Route as the sun dipped below the horizon, plunging the road into darkness. Slipping her messenger bag from her shoulder, she dat down underneath a tree, returning Mariposa to her pokeball. Pulling out a small pack nof dried food, she began to much on it as Squirtle gave a little yawn, walking up next to her and curling up in his shell to her right. Leaning back on the tree, she let her eyes close, not realizing how tired she was until she had sat down. Without even bothing to get out her sleeping bag or pajamas, she simply dozed off, propped against the tree.

Sakura scrambled out of the gate onto route 3. She was only here for training, and then she would go back to Pewter for a while, then train some more, then challenge Brock. She saw a trainer trying to spy on other trainers walking by. Sakura tried to slink past him without being seen, but it was a futile try, she would have to go by him to proceed. "Hooheehee! An opponent I see? Now you have to battle mee!" Sakura unwillingly let Kakuna battle, unaware that she would be against a flying type Pokemon. She came close to kakuna, and whispered in his ear-hole thing. "So Spear, use Poison Sting until poisoned, then use harden for the rest of the battle and let the poisoning take control." The pidgey was poisioned the first attack, and then Spear used harden for a while. Those defense raising turns really paid off, as Kakuna was not hurt much at all. I guess Pidgey's don't take poisonings very well, as it was done for in a couple turns. Sakura just sat on a stump as Spear took over, and finshed off the second Pidgey with the same strategy. It attacked first, definetely, and barely hurt Kakuna, its hardens were the best thing to ever happen to him. Once Spear's Hardens were unaffective, he resorted to String Shots as Sakura mulled over what had happened last night. Spear was wincing by the time the last Pidgey had fainted. He needed a nice long rest. Sakura sighed. "Too bad there is no Pokemon Spa place here, huh Spear." When Sakura looked over at Spear to see his reaction, he was glowing. Evolution already? Apparently. The glowing subsided and a shocked Spear finally figured out what he was now. A Beedrill! She got her money and headed back toward Pewter again.

Stirring as sunlight streaked across her face, Natsuko's head fell to the side, trying to block out the light. Unfortunately, she knew what it meant when the light came up - time to get back to work. Stretching her hands above her head, she glanced to the side to see Bloo still nestled into the grass next to her. Sitting up, she gently tapped on his shell to arouse him as she got to her feet. He emerged from his shell, stretching out on the grass and looking up at her. Snickering slightly, she sat down on the ground once more, facing him and sitting indian style. Pulling some dry breakfast from her bag, she split some of it with Bloo, looking around at the sun shining around her. It was going to be another beautiful day, and she could only hope that it would hold as much excitement as the rest of her journey had so far.

"Well, you ready to get going," she asked Bloo, waiting patiently for him to finish his breakfast and get to his feet. When he was ready to go, she beamed down at him before running back on the path, continuing on the journey towards Mount Moon. She had not gone very far before she heard the thudding of shoes making contact with the dirt road, coming up behind her fast. Natsuko stopped, turning to see a buy running at her as fast as his short legs could carry him. Ad he came up on her, he stopped an bent over double, catching his breath. Natsuko quirked an eyebrow at him slightly, though she waited patiently for him to be able to speak before she said anything.

"I was waiting for you back there, but before you came by I had to go to the bathroom, and then when I came back you had already passed," he said, trying to cram as much in one sentence as he could before he heaved another breath. Natsuko gave Bloo a look to see what he thought of this guy, but it was obvious that the two of them were confused. "Yea? What's your point kid," she asked simply, waiting for him to tell her why he had been waiting for her. Suddenly, however, his purpose seemed clear. Quickly he whipped out a pokeball, still winded, and a large grin swept across his face. "I challenged every trainer that came through Pewter, and you better believe I'm not going to miss you," he exclaimed. Natsuko was not sure what to entirely make of him, but she could use the experience for her next gym match. Nodding to show that she agreed to his challenge, the two of them moved off the main path into a grassy clearing. The boy first released a Rattata, the purple coat glistening in the sunshine. It was evident that the pokemon was well-trained, but she was not about to let that intimidate her. After a moment of thought, Natsuko pulled a pokeball from her bag, releasing Mariposa into the battle.

"Alright Mari, start things off with a Confusion attack," she called out. Mariposa's red eyes began to glow, suddenly emitting a bright flash of light. The Rattata seemed thoroughly confused by the attack, and so when Butterfree followed it up with an immediate tackle attack, the poor rat pokemon was caught completely off guard. Rolling back, not really able to fight anymore, the trainer had no choice but to call back his pokemon, looking at Natsuko with a mixture of amazement and anger. It was obvious to her that he was not used to losing, but against her team he stood very little chance.

"Alright, it's time to pull out all the stops. Go Ekans," he called out, releasing the snake pokemon onto the field. Nat had not encountered the pokemon before, and so she had to admit that she was thrown for a little loop as to how she should beat it. In the end, however, she came to the realization that she was going to be the winner regardless of what pokemon she chose, so calling out Lili, she released her newest pokemon onto the field, anxious to get this pip-squeak out of her way so she could press on to more important matters. Ekans leapt forwards in a wrap attack, but Nidoran was just a little faster than it. Growling lowly, she could tell that the attack was a little intimidating for the Ekans, and so when he leapt forwards to attack again there was less enthusiasm behind the attack than before. Jumping forwards, Lili sent a powerful scratch towards the pokemon, managing to use the attack to send the Ekans skidding back a little through the grass. Another scratch attack, and the Ekans was down for the count.

For a moment, the boy stood there, his eye twitching as he recalled his pokemon to it's pokeball. However, after a moment, he began to wail hysterically, throwing a small bag towards her containing P176. Watching the boy run off towards the pokemon center to get his pokemon healed, she stood, watching his silhouette disappear into the distance before recalling Lili and looking down at Bloo. "Well, that was weird," she said after a moment, tucking her new money into her bag before heading back to the path with Bloo at her side. Sure pokemon normally stayed in their pokeballs, but when she had no one else to travel with at the moment, it was nice to have the company. Besides, the two of them got along famously, and she had no reason to keep him confined in a pokeball while she enjoyed the freedom that her journey gave her. This was an experience for Bloo as well, and she could not have picked a better companion to share it with.

Nomaa walked onto Route 3, head held high, a spring in her step, and Chamander trotting along faithfully at her side. "Well Charmander, I think this is the time to start figuring out what pokemon in our team is going to be the best against Brock's rock type pokemon, ya think?" Charmander looked at her with a proud expression, giving a nod as the two of them continued on their way. Laughing and joking along the way, it was not long before the duo heard a rustling in the tall grass alongside the road. Stopping, Nomaa turned her head to the side as a Pidgey meandered out onto the road. Charmander started out towards the pokemon to battle, but Nomaa had to call her little bundle of joy back. If she was going to stand a chance against Brock, the only way she was going to be able to do that was if she managed to get her Metapod to evolve into a Butterfree.

"Metapod, let's go," she said as she released her latest pokemon out into the field. Pidgey looked at it's opponent with a slightly amused glint in it's eye as it started to blow a sand-attack towards Metapod. "Metapod, quick, use a tackle attack," she called out, her pokemon rushing forwards and slamming it's body against the Pidgey. It seemed that the trained Metapod was too much for the wild Pidgey. It was knocked back by the tackle attack, trying to flap it's wings to regain balance before it hit the ground. Recovering, the Pidgey started to create a gust attack. "Metapod, use your string shot to throw it to the side," Nomaa called out. Metapod shot a stream of stick material at the Pidgey, locking on to it's beak. The Pidgey was shocked, and as Metapod tightened it's grip on the sticky substance, throwing the poor Pidgey to the side right into a tree. Pidgey slumped down on the ground, fainted. "Awesome job Metapod! You'll get strong enough to evolve in no time!" Metapod have a happy response as she returned him to his pokeball.

"See Charmander? If we can get Metapod to evolve into a Butterfree, we can have a chance against Brock!" Charmander nuzzled her leg with his head causing Nomaa to giggle slightly, leaning down and giving him a soft pet on the head. The two of them made such a good team, she wished she could figure out a way to up his power so even a rock pokemon would fall to him. However, it seemed Charmander was taking it well. He might be stubborn and protective of her, but he knew when strategy wasn't on their side. Continuing on, it was only a few minutes before the two of them decided to sit down for a rest.

Relaxing underneath a tree, Nomaa chuckled as she trailed her hand over Charmander's head resting in her lap. "Oh Charmander," she said lovignly as she reached around and tickled his belly playfully. Charmander laughed, squirming around slightly before looking up at her and gently butting her side with his head. However, before their play war could continue, there was yet another rustle in the bushes as a Mankey stepped out of the grass, looking at Nomaa as she went to split a sandwich with Charmander. "Char! Charmander," he called out, pointing towards the wild pokemon. Nomaa looked up, grinning as she saw the wild pokemon looking at them. Grabbing Metapod's pokeball once more, she released her pokemon, thinking this as another opportunity to get him some experience. The Mankey eyed it's opponent, then the sandwich, then Metapod once more.

Out of nowhere, the wild pokemon lunged forwards preparing to scratch Metapod with all it had. "Metapod, quick! Use Harden," she called out, Metapod immediately listening to his trainer and hardening his skin so that as the scratch attack connected, it did nothing but cause the Mankey to withdraw it's hand letting out a cry of pain. "Metapod, tackle attack," she called out, and metapod immediately responding as it moved towards Mankey, slamming it's hardned body into the wild pokemon. Mankey fell to the side, looking at Metapod with a glare in it's eye as it went to get up once more. However, before it was on it's feet once more, Metapod aimed another tackle at the the Mankey, knocking it back from the battle. Mankey fell to the side, fainted, and Nomaa couldn't help but run up to Metpod, lifting him in the air and swinging him around before brining him in for a tight hug. He seemed a little stronger than before, which gave Nomaa the impression that he was on the way to evolving.

"That was awesome Metapod," she said lovingly, giving him another nuzzle with her head before returning him to his pokeball giving an excited giggle. Returning to her spot underneath the tree she was all smiled as Charmander returned to her side, giving her a little hug which caused Nomaa to smile, giving him a loving squeeze as well. "Let's rest for a few more minutes before we head out," she said, Charmander giving her a nod of his head to show that he agreed.

Lily began the plan to beat all of the trainers on Route 3 with a step into the strip of land. Then another step, then another step, steadily approaching a bunch of tall grass. Her and Meg walked a few steps into the grass when a trainer burst up and yelled.

"I found a trainer, I found a trainer!" He started to jump up and down, like a hyper little kid who just found the cookie jar.

"Aw, Kevin!! I told you I wanted to battle the next trainer we saw!" Another little kid came into Lily's field of vision. This one was the more subdued and whiny type.

"Hehe! You snooze yeh lose!" The kid named Kevin pulled out a Pokeball. "Now, one of you have got to battle me! He pointed in the general direction of Lily and Meg.

"I guess I'll battle you." Lily stepped forward and took her unfamiliar Pokeball out of her bag. "Go Malik!" She said, throwing the Pokeball up in the air above her head.

Kevin nodded. "This one is weak. We'll take care of it fast. Go Pidgey!" He tossed the Pokeball weakly onto the ground and the Pokemon came out ready to battle. "Pidgey, start it off with Sand-Attack, then Sand-Attack again!" The foe's Pidgey started to flap its wings and scrape it's feet against the hard dirt ground. The scratching loosened the dirt, and its wings sent the material flying. Sand-Attack was an attack that got dirt into the opponents' eyes. The boy's foe's Pokemon had no eyes, thus inflicting no damage or temporary handicap.

Lily smiled when her Staryu stood up straight after it saw the dust go by. "Malik, use Tackle, then Harden, then Tackle again. Don't give it a chance to attack and try to dodge all the attacks that come through." Lily shouted her command to her Pokemon. Malik charged up into a Tackle and ran[though I don't know how that is possible...] toward the Pidgey, getting a big hit in on the Pidgey. It came back to its place in front of Lily and started to shine. No, not evolution, just a Harden attack! Soon the Pokemon's defense was raised slightly and Malik was ready for another attack anytime soon. It charged back again to the boy's Pokemon and hit it again. The Pidgey came running toward the Staryu but it nimbly dodged the Pidgey's attack.

"No, no no! All wrong! Pidgey, try harder!" The boy's voice grew intense as he scolded his Pokemon. The Pidgey whipped up some more sand and shot it at the Staryu. "Ugh, you stupid Pidgey! That Pokemon is not affected normally by that move! Stop using it!" He grabbed at his hair and it looked like he was going to rip it out.

Lily saw this as a chance to set another attack. "Use Tackle once more, Malik." Her Pokemon ran forward in another sharp Tackle. It hit its target again and after this attack the Pidgey fainted. Lily patted her Pokemon on the head. "Are you up for another Pidgey?" Malik nodded and stood fast.

"ARGH! Go Pidgey." The angry boy sent out another Pidgey, almost identical to the last one.

"Take out this one the same way you took out the other one." Lily said, leaving her Staryu off to battle. Malik used Tackle on the Pidgey, who then used Tackle back. The Pidgey used Sand-Attack, much to the boy's dismay, and then Staryu used Tackle again.

"Hit it with Tackle harder!" The boy shouted. He seemed to like shouting. His Pidgey was slowly stepping back in order to run forward in a Tackle, but Malik hit it with its strongest attack yet, making it fly back into the boy's knees. "What the CRAP?! How did we lose!?!!" His pale face began to turn red, and he stomped off to stand behind his accomplice, who was laughing. "You try to battle her, she's tough." The boy who lost the battle muttered, and threw a money sack at Lily who caught it in one hand.

"Yeah! I want a battle!" The other boy's face lightened up.

"Okay, I'll battle you."

The boy looked like she was about to respond when there was a loud rustling of the bushes next to them. A Nidoran appeared and just stood there, staring at the four kids standing in the tall grass. Its eyes were a beautiful sapphire and at that moment, Lily decided she wanted that Pokemon for herself.

"Go, Shoka!" Lily released her Pidgey in the space between the trainer and the wild Pokemon. "Shoka, use Tackle, then Tackle again." Shoka nodded and ran off into a Tackle. At the last moment, the opponent Pokemon dodged and scratched Shoka when he started to run back to Lily.

"Pidgey! Pidge Pidge!" It sounded like Shoka was cursing in Pokemon laguage. He ran forward again in another Tackle, and the Nidoran took the hit. The foe ran forward and tried to swipe a claw again, but Pidgey dodged and hit back with a Tackle.

"Good, Shoka!" Lily shouted. She threw a Pokeball at the Nidoran as it tried to run away. It shook a few times then clicked and shined. Lily had captured it! She jumped up and down then ran over to claim her Pokemon.

The shy boy started clapping. The other boy smacked him on the head.
"Whatever, when're you gonna battle this guy?" He poked his accomplice in his ear.

"Let's get this battle started! Go Malik!" Lily pointed to the Caterpie the boy released. Since Malik was already out from the previous battle, Lily didn't have to release it out of its Pokeball. "Use Water Gun then Tackle. Try not to let it attack." Malik powered up for the attack that shoots water from it. It shot water powerfully at the Caterpie. It slid back a few feet when it was hit, and flinched, since it was a shy Pokemon. Malik took the chance to hit it with a Tackle. The Caterpie feebly shot a String Shot and missed. Very badly. It shot another String Shot when Malik effortlessly dodged the failed attempt at a shot. This time, Malik stuck fast to the ground. "Just use Water Gun!" Lily shouted at Malik, who was stuck on its back. It charged up and shot again, from its lying position. Since it couldn't tell where the foe was located, it just shot a lot of water in a general area. It managed to hit the Caterpie, and it fainted. Malik wiggled out of drying String Shot, standing upright once again.

"Ack! Um... Go Caterpie!" Boy, these bug-catchers never learn. He sent out another Caterpie, and this one looked courageous, like Shoka. Lily nodded at Malik, who nodded back. He wanted another battle. Lily told the Staryu to try and use contact moves instead of ranged. That meant no more Water Guns for Malik. It stepped back and ran forward in a Tackle, and hit the Caterpie face on. It flew back, and Malik ran toward the foe again when it was recovering from the attack. It got another blow in. Caterpie used Poison Sting and hit Malik in the leg. Luckily it didn't get poisoned. It used another attack but the Caterpie stepped out of the way at the last minute, and got in another Poison Sting on Malik's back. It counter-attacked with another Tackle, and the Caterpie lay fainted on the ground.

"Whoo! Alright, go Malik!" Lily said, handling it's Pokeball. It stood there longer, and Lily was surprised it wanted another Pokemon to battle. The boy sent out a Weedle, another bug Pokemon. Lily grimaced at the bug again, and pointed to Malik to Tackle it. It Tackled the foe once, then twice. The Caterpie used Tackle and hit it with a sharp Tackle. Lily told it to use Water gun, and Malik did it very willingly. The Weedle hit the ground as it fainted, and Malik jumped up. Lily smiled and took the money from the second boy. They both walked away grumbling.

Lily started walking toward a trainer that was slowly running to her, wanting to battle. But suddenly, a Mankey jumped into her path, forcing her to battle with it.

"EEEKKK!! Ew, ew!" Lily jumped back, almost mirroring the reaction of the trainer she was walking towards. She scrunched up her nose in disgust. "Ew." She also thought that furry, messy, ugly primates were gross, along with those bugs. She set out Malik and told it to battle that ugly thing.

"Star, Staryu!" He jumped up and defended Lily. First, Lily used a Potion to heal it up. "Now, go and kill it!" Lily isn't nice to things she hates, apparently. Malik shot out his Water Gun, then follwed closely behind with Tackle. Then another Tackle. Malik just wasn't going to let anything hit it. He hit it with another Water Gun and made it faint. Lily smiled and continued to walk forward to the girl who stood there, shocked at how quickly they took down that Mankey.

"Um, excuse me? I'm still waiting for a battle." The girl said with a edge in her voice. She sounded like a cheerleader talking to a nerd. She just happened to look like a cheerleader too. Maybe she was a cheerleader? The girl took out a Pokeball. "Go Rattata!"

Lily nodded at Malik again, since it was still out of its Pokeball. "Only one more battle for you, Malik." She said to the Pokemon. Malik jumped up and started the battle with a Water Gun. Lily smiled as Malik got in another attack just after the other. She was beginning to think that it was getting over its shyness. The girl's Rattata was mad now, though, and was charging forward to scratch its opponent. It scratched at Malik's leg and ran back to it's trainer. Malik ran forward to Tackle it, and it hit with a solid blow. The Rattata crumpled to the ground as it fainted. The cheerleader girl released an Ekans from another Pokeball. Lily sent back Malik and sent out Peppers.

Peppers stood by Lily's legs, not wanting to move. "Come on," Lily thought. She gestured with her head to attack. Peppers nodded weakly and shot a Thundershock from where it was standing. And another one. Peppers stopped after that. "Jump when the Ekans charges, and try to dodge if you can't jump. Now more Thundershocks!" Lily yelled. Another Thundershock hit the Ekans before it came to attack. Peppers didn't try to dodge at all, he just let it hit him. Peppers just hit it with another Thundershock and it fainted.

"Boo hoo! I knew I couldn't win." The girl said as she drew her Pokemon back into its Pokeball. She walked up to Lily, handed her the prize money, then walked back into the trees.

Yue looked carefully around. Being very cautious of trainers and unwanted Pokemon. Soon he saw exactly what he wanted. A wild Mankey. He sent out Beldum and tried to sneak up on the fellow.

"Beldum, use Take Down!" he exclaimed as Beldum charged for the wild Mankey. The battled a bit, Mankey doing some super-effective hits with Low Kick, even. But when Yue thought Mankey had been worn down enough, he threw his pokeball. Beep . . . Beep . . . Ding! The Mankey was now caught.

Yue figured he'd head back to the city and heal up at the Pokemon Center before getting some training in for the gym.
