Light blue eyes settled on a large rock formation beyond, sitting back on her haunches she sighed, ears folding back, striped silver pelt standing out from the abundant green grasses around her. Was she here? Was she anywhere? "Mom....where are you..." Loustearha was getting tired of going in circles, tired of coming up empty pawed, tired of walking around, paws aching every night.
She just wanted her family again, wanted her mom back.
Why couldn't it be simpler?
She wondered if anyone here had seen her, heard of her, anything, but what could she describe anyway? Her mother only was awake at night when Loustearha had been with her, all Lous knew was that her mother had a black pelt, made her feel like she could fly.
Would anyone know?

Paws stretched, toes curling into the soft earth, his body falling into a long stretch as the sun warmed his dark hide. The moody scowl that had seemed a permanent feature on his maw over the past months had faded, though perhaps it only lurked under the surface. But on such a bright sunny day, even the angry young lion could not remain bitter.
It was a beautiful day, peaceful and quiet. Away from the family den he was free from noisy siblings, small cubs that demanded his attention, free to be himself, and though he loved them as any older brother would, even he could only stand so much. It was just a quiet day for him to spend alone, maybe to enjoy the waterhole or just to chase around a few bugs. But best about today, there were no cubs, no sisters, and no girls.

Loustearha wasnt sure which way to wander, which way to go and how to go about her search, her questions she wasn't sure if there was a possibility of being chased out from these lands because she didn't belong there, but she just wanted to know, that was all. Weaving her way through the grasses the surface of water glinted and she smiled, it seemed so peaceful here, though would her mother have passed through here, even stayed a while?
It was all up to luck, fate, and hope now.
Just needed to find someone now.
Light blue eyes peered around as her striped figure made its way slowly but surely, though she was nervous. She didn't mean to cause any harm or trouble here.

Though he had admired the peaceful quiet moments before, Shin'Jougen was anything but silent as he moved through the grass, seized by a surge of cubbishness as he chased after a fluttering insect. A bound, tail flicking as he crouched like a hunter, eying his 'prey', pouncing to bring his forepaws down on the insect barely a moment after it fluttered away, then crouching to begin the game again.
Shin was a tall lion, though not broad, his midnight hide touched by the moon, orange eyes bright as the sun. While his body had mature, the young lion had yet to grow out of his cubbish nature, perhaps a trait inherited from his father. For Shin, girls were still weird, cubs were annoying (unless they were siblings and then it was debatable), and sisters, well it was too nice a day to think about sisters.
Growing tired of the chase, the bug was left to flicker off alone, the lion's paws carried him to the cool shade of the water and the smooth crystaline surface. Maybe he'd go for a swim or chase the fish, it seemed like a good day for that.

Something dark caught the attention of her wandering eyes. Dark, then nothing, dark, then nothing. Tilting her head in the direction of the vague form she smiled, a cub pouncing? No, so much bigger than a cub. She laughed to herself inwardly, and crouched down as well, creeping towards the form. Probably not the best idea to sneak up on someone in a place where she did not belong, but it looked like a game, perhaps she could join in?
How long had it been since she had been able to play a game with her mother?
She creeped a bit further, then pounced up and over some grass, showing herself but falling back into hte green grass, as if baiting hte other to play the game with her, that she was no threat, just wanted to have fun.

He had remained oblivious, too caught in his game to noticed the stranger nearby, or perhaps he simply didn't care. Now dark ears flicked, catching the sound of paw steps, senses telling him there was someone nearby.
Not that he was in any danger. The pridelands was a relatively safe land, one where cubs could wander and play without fear of predators. Through his youth he had done just that, happily engaged in his own cubs, bounding through the grass with his best friend Totoro. In the pridelands there was only one reason to stalk someone, to either be weird like a girl and spy on someone you 'liked' (bleh!), or to be join in the game.
Eyes fell on the figure as she appeared over the grass. While Shin was not sure what he had expected, he certainly had not expected what he saw. His expression fell, eyes narrowed, great a girl, just what he wanted to see. *snort!*
"What do you want?"

Loustearha stopped suddenly from her pounce and hide game, stopped leaping and just stood straight up, tilting her head at him, ears falling back very slightly, was he mad? Should she not have interrupted? He didn't look very enthused. "You were playing a game and well..." she trailed off for a moment, stepping a step further, closer, to see if he would pull away.
Would he be aprehensive of her stepping forward?
"I didn't know if I could play too..." she said finishing, watching him.
It was just a game...wasn't it?

He stared at her in silence, tail twitching with his thoughts. What on earth was she talking about? Why would a girl want to join a game with a boy, why would a boy want to go anywhere near a girl, baring siblings of course, that was totally different. Pffft...like he wanted to catch her craziness, girls.
"You could, if you weren't a girl."
In the tone he spoke, one might have expected him to stick out his tongue like a child, though he at least refrained from that action. Shin'Jougen was in no way a mean lion, beneath that fluff was a kind heart that would not have wished to harm anyone, not even a girl. What he was, was angry, angry that things had changed, that his sister had grown up without him, that the innocent girl he had always known was the one to leave and have her own cubs. Eww, sisters did not have sex, it was just wrong.
But maybe he was getting tired of being angry, he had come to miss those carefree days of happiness and games. He wasn't even sure when or why they had ended anymore.

"I can't play 'cause I'm a girl?" Lous asked stepping forward a bit more through the grass. Tilting her head at him, light blue hues settled on his form. That wasn't very nice, maybe something bad had happened with a girl to him? had someone hurt him? "That doesn't seem very nice but...you have your reasons right?" she asked, paying on words, seeing if she could get him to tell her what was wrong.
He seemed so...pulled away...maybe it was just her.
"Did she hurt you?" as if Loustearha knew who she was.
Would he say anything, or just pull away?
"I'm mad at someone too...I came to see if she came this way, she left me, all alone out there...everyone has their reasons to be mad..."

"I guess. Girls are crazy, and they make everyone around them crazy too."
Not nice? He'd never really thought of it that way. Shin had one brother, and four sisters, outnumbered by two times; he had five nieces and no nephews, he was surrounded by girls, and they were all nuts. And his father, though he loved them all, was certainly nuts after having so many daughters, as his 'brother-in-law' had found, as any boy his younger sisters might meet would find out. And mom, well she didn't count, she wasn't like other girls, did mother's even count as a girls? Maybe he had gone crazy too and he just didn't know it.
"You wouldn't understand."
He shook his head, watching her for what seemed a long moment before finally settling on his haunches, tail flicking as her words met his ears. It wasn't something he especially wanted to talk about, least of all with a stranger. But something changed his tone.
"Really? I'm sorry."
Though he looked away, the words were sincere, no one should ever be left alone.

"No, I guess your right, I probably wouldn't, but maybe I could try?" she asked, stepping further, stopping a couple feet from him, sitting on her haunches too, just watching him. Who had hurt him in such a way he wanted to isolate himself, even in hte presence of another? "No one can understand everything, but everyone can try to understand something," she said with a smile, blinking, watching.
"I'll be okay, eventually, I just wish I could find her, she left me alone...she was what I had left really...though I wonder if she'd still remember me.." she sad with a half laugh.
Would she remember Loustearha?
"Its alright if you don't want to talk, a lot of days I don't like to talk either...but, I wondered if she came this way, I'm getting tired of running all over hte place looking for her..>" her ears folded back as she looked up towards the sky, "Time is passing me so quickly..I've spent too much time looking I guess...."
Why was she rambling?

His tail gave a nervous twitch, grass rustling as he shifted away from her, backing up a pace before settling back again. She had approached a bit closer than he was comfortable with, pushing him to talk when he didn't want to. He didn't even know this lioness, why on earth would he want to talk to her? Just more proof they were crazy.
"I've never seen anyone who looks like you, sorry, but you might have more luck asking the scouts.
Right, a change of subject, that worked, maybe then she'd stop asking him questions. It was like she thought he'd had a girlfriend or something, eww, that so was not going to happen. He just hoped she didn't change the subject back, didn't girls ever talk about anything that wasn't weird?

Alright so...he didn't want to dwell on the subject any further. That was alright, if someone was uncomfortable, as she was making him, best move onto something else. "Oh, well, she doesn't look like me really, she's my mom but...not by blood, she found me when I was little," she said with a nod.
Her mother now found her after the monster had come in the dark.
But if she said that, he'd think she was crazy, didn't need that right now...or anytime soon really.
"She has a dark pelt but...I don't know, its hard to explain, my mom, she'd only do stuff at night when it was really dark out... so all I have go by is like..a black pelt," she said with a half laugh, staying where she was, not venturing further at all.
"Um...which way are the scouts then? Have you seen anyone with a real dark pelt around?"
Maybe he knew something...

"Oh. That's not much to go on, how do you know you'll even recognize her if you see her again?"
Lions with dark pelts weren't exactly uncommon, there were several of them around, including himself, his mother, his brother, nieces, Bushido, and several other members of his family, none of whom were related to this lioness or whoever she was searching for. Seemed kinda silly to look for something when you didn't even know what it was you were looking for.
"The scouts patrol the borders, if you walk around there long enough you'll run into one. If anyone has seen her it's them."

"I don't know I guess...its just a feeling, her eyes, I know her eyes very well, I'll never be able to forget them, so I guess its her eyes I'm seeking here, silly huh?" she said with a half laugh, taking a step back. Borders, patrolers, so that was the next step. Though, it seemed like he hadn't seen her, oh darned. "I'll go check for the scouts then, see if they know.." she said with a nod, taking another step back, watching him, ready to leave, but she hesitated.
"If you see her...could you tell her I'm searching for her? I'll probably be back sooner or later, could you?" she asked softly, almost in a whisper. "Her eyes, they are silver gray," she said with a nod. Waiting now, wanting to know if anyone would be able to help her.
