It's December, so it's National Novel Finishing Month. (NaNoFiMo)
Last month was National Novel Novel Writing Month. (NaNoWriMo)
April is Script Frenzy (Screnzy)
Febuary is Album Writing Month*
January is January Novel Writing Month* (JanWriMo)
Gaia has the Summer Writing Months (or they have in the past)
March is National Novel Editing Month (NaNoEdMo)
There's also National Novel Writing Year (NaNoWriYe) and National Novel Publishing Year (NaNoPubYe)*

There's also NaNoWriDay**

I did NaNoWriMo (and won), working on NaNoFiMo (and behind), and planning on WriYe, WriDay, and Screnzy.

Anybody else who's joined the insanity? Come and complain and get support or discuss your novel or find a screnzying partner

*Too lazy to look up the url for these.
**there's no official website, however you can find threads for it in the NaNoWriMo and NaNoWriYe forums.

EDIT: I can't do BBC code right the first time around to save my life.

I've never tried any of them. I have next to no writing. I never finish anything.

Also, *snigger* BBC code. xD

What's so funny about BBC code?

...

The C in BBC stands for code, doesn't it?
PostPosted: Sat Dec 08, 2007 2:08 pm

In this case, yes, probably. xD But it's usually just BBCode.

BBC Code is redundant. :p
ATM Machine, anyone?

Ah, yes I'd like to speak to the department of redundancy department.

And so we aren't completely off topic: (The Department of Redundancy Department is featured in the NaNoisms book)

NaNoisms from 2005 can be found here: www.lulu.com/content/1310566

You can download for free. It's good for laughing really hard at.

EDIT: OMG BBCode HATES ME

I tried NaNoWriMo last year. I lost. I technically tried this year, but I was feeling run down and didn't get much done. My two friends won this year, though.

I may try Screnzy one day. That sounds like fun.

Just downloaded "I Hate Myself and Want to Die." God, it's hysterical so far.

Hey, apparently 2nd year's the hardest, kinda like the second week.

The IHMAWTD book only gets better.

Like RPing, it's one of those things I need someone depending on me to finish. I need deadlines, but if there's not someone besides myself holding me to it, I'll just never do it.

In RPing someone is always waiting on another post. In collaborative writing there's someone else there to keep you from getting bored and burnt out.

I can't do anything on my own. D,:

I don't think you see the places
inside me that I find you

I did NaNoWriMo this year. And won. It was the best fun I had since 2005 when I last did NaNo.

Let's just say that the novel won't see the light of day for a very long time. It's just so bad. I'm ashamed. Right now I'm in the process of reading the NaNo's my friends in the NaNo topic in the Writing Contest Subforum were writing. I am in the state of envy.

I wanted to do Screnzy. But they moved it from June to April, which makes it impossible (with Finals and whatnot)

And I don't know how we
separate the lies from the truth

Ffaux Pas~ get a writing buddy. Start a sponsorship where someone'll pay you ___ amount for each word you write.

Imoto~ Congradulations on the win! I'm ashamed of my novel too, don't worry. Mostly cause it lacks a seriously coherent plot.

That sucks with finals. It actually works better for me cause my finals are in June.

Haha. No one would sponsor me.
I think you've probably got to be able to write before they'd do that. You know, unless they're family or feel bad for you. And then I'd refuse to accept it.

Oh God, all the memories of second week first year come flowing back...

Sweet. I need to read more of it when I have time.

My 'second week' started about Monday of the first week. Gah. But I was way ahead, so it didn't matter as much. Still drove me nutty though.

I always thought all this NaNoWriWhatever sort of... didn't make sense. I mean, sure, it's a good writing excercise, but I'd rather spend a large amount of time perfecting parts of the stories I'm working on than rushing to finish them/write enough words in time. I'll get 'em done when I get 'em done. sweatdrop

And I don't think anything you can say can convince me otherwise, it's a personal choice. And frankly, I'd rather it if you don't bother to convert me. It's annoying. *has experienced it in the past*

However, being seemingly the only person in the WF not doing NaNoWriMo, it does majorly piss me off when every post is, "OMG, who else is doing NaNoWriMo!!!" or "NaNoWriMo is soooo hard!!"

Congratulations to all you who did complete it, though. It takes stamina, of that I'm sure. ^.^
