Well I pealed open the bottom covers for the GC insertions and I compared my brothers purple GC with my platnium one. it just so happens that my platnium GC has only one serial port and high speed connection and my brother has 2 serial ports and something else on his. Was the platnium GC intentionaly supposed to have 2 serial ports or just one?
the serial port 1 seems to be near both the small boot shaped cover though. I'm really confused. confused
By the way. does the high speed port mean the broadband or the modem? if it doesn't mean either I dont know what to do.

I need help connecting with PSO+ and I can't figure out where I went wrong. Other than the fact that I'm not accepted on the server yet (since I haven't been emailed back).
So here is what I've filled in. (I use a modem adapter)
Edit ISP Name: "Earthlink" Doesn't matter right?
Modem Settings: -Tone Outside line: 8916276 Line timeout: 99 minutes
ISP Settings 1: Username: brdiefenbach@earthlink.net Password: My password Phone number 1: 8284079
(So far all this information should be correct)
ISP Settings 2: -Manual Primary DNS: 65.12.199.46
*The striked part was my error. I had put in extra information I didn't need. The italicized part is what DNS I'm using: "Captain N's."

Here's a great guide: http://www.schtserv.com/connect-psogc.php

For the ports problem...
Just see if it fits. The way the groove underneath the gamecube is shaped, the adaptor should just fit right in. If it doesn't fit, then you have a problem. I'd suggest selling your current gamecube, and buy another one. They're only $99 at Gamestop. Or, give up on online. The official servers are dead, anyways.

The guide here should help but I'll try to take a swing at it (based on the information in that forum):
*I assume you've got the network file set up. 1) Go to the Network Setup Menu 2) Chose the Provider option you want to change to connect to Schtserv. Once you choose, press the “Edit Menu” button. 3) On the next screen you can rename the provider (the name shouldn't matter). Hit the next button. 4) On this screen choose the options “Automatically Obtain an IP Address” and “Do not automatically Disconnect” .Then click next. 5)Set the DNS using the "manual" option. Make sure the DHCP option is not set. These are the DNS's you can use, You just have to input the numbers not the name: -Schthack: 207.134.231.160 -Wildone: 67.40.97.92 -Captain N: 65.12.199.46 (This is the one I'm using) -The Dude: 72.241.163.140
Based on your internet settings you may need to fill out the next few pages (if you use a proxy or somesuch) but for the most part I think you can just click next through all of those and hit the save button and it should work. Good luck!

I put in the code for the schtk on the Primary DNS and left the other DNS blan kthen skipped throughthe proxy stuff.
I then tried to go online and it said.
(No.1 cool Connection attempt failed. If you have a broadband adapter, make sure that your network cable is properly connected to the broadband adapter and that the broadband adapter settings are set up properly.
I'm using a Cat5 cable or what ever its called.
did I do something wrong?

You don't need to have a secondary DNS. You can leave it blank if you want to.
You might need to open up your Network settings on your computer and activate ICS (Internet Computer Sharing). Right click your connect, go to properties, advanced and check the box that lets you share your connection.

you mean on the computer or the GC? cuys the GC doesn't have a right click nor a mouse to do so. I'm guessing your saying computer. ok. I'll try. i'm very tired and might just throw in the 20 questions. neutral
