It's getting to be time to choose a secondary Mod. The last few days I've had off because I requested them or called off, it's been sort of a fluke. I will be getting busier again starting tomorrow. It'll be more difficult for me to keep up with inviting people and creating threads to cover the bases. The gaming, music, art, etc forums could use a few more general sorts of threads.

Obviously we haven't had any problems with misplaced threads or idiots, which is always nice and takes the strain off of the mods a little bit, so it's not a job that's asking a whole lot of anyone. No more time than you're able to dedicate to it.

I could choose a person or two, obviously, but I don't like the possibility of playing favourites.

Thus we have decided to make this a democratic sort of decision.

In this thread I am requesting nominations, from each of you, naming the guild members you think fit to act as your mods. (No, mules do not get nominations or votes)

At this point I think it's early enough to avoid a popularity contest, which I can only see being an issue should the guild ever split into factions or be overrun by would-be divas. Obviously I hope this never happens.

**Now, if you're interested or willing to accept a nomination, make that known here. You can even include a resumee of sorts if you like, though I really don't think modding a guild is all that exciting. ;]

**Everyone may make two nominations. (Can you nominate yourself? I suppose so, but it'd look better coming from one of your peers.)
--If you receive one and don't want the position, simply decline.

**Once nominations are in, I'll organize (secret) voting.

In the future I may choose, occasionally, when I see someone who'd make an especially good mod, but this time I'd like to try something a little different. We're the anti-dictatorship, after all.

I like the idea of nominations. Makes it democratic.

I think it would be better if we chose, mainly because that
a. stops favoritism and
b. if a mod is bad, we only have ourselves to blame. (Not that any of the mods would be bad, it's just a what if...)

Voting sounds good...

I'd like the nomination idea. It makes it more fair for everyone involved.

I like the nomination idea as well. Makes it (using Lydia's word) Geniocratic. 3nodding

That sounds fair. But how would the nominations go about? Would people like PM them to you?

F
irst off, Vanadia, sweet avatar. Just had to get that off. :]

Second, I think the whole nominating idea would be fun. It'll at least get us all piled in a thread with some excitement.

You said it yourself though, modding a guild isn't exactly fireworks so I don't think feelings will be hurt. I say we throw in suggestions and nominations here and when enough are gathered, you can make some kind of updated post about the candidates...we'll go from there, yes?

Alright. Sounds like a plan then. If it had been divided I probably would wait for more feedback, but if you guys are comfortable with the idea, we'll give it a go. I'll turn this thread into an announcement requesting nominations. Nominations can be given publicly, so you can see who has already received one and decide whether there's someone else you'd like to see have a chance, but voting will be done privately. We won't worry about who has the most or least nominations this time around, just focus on getting everyone you think deserves the spot nominated.

Well, if anybody wanted to nominate me for moderator, I wouldn't have a problem with it. ^_^

EDIT: Lydia gets my nomination.

I nominate Luxx.

Luxx's sense of neutrality and logic appeals to me greatly.

It's a good quality to have in a mod, so that when problems arise both sides can be seen and an unbiased opinion can be reached.

And I nominate myself. Because I'm an egocentric whore, lol.

Remember, everyone, you get two noms. You can post the second later, one you've seen who has received them, if you wish.

Do I get to nominate too?

We get two? Then I'll nominate myself, just to save somebody else one, lol

I have no problem with you nominating someone.

I'm saving my second nomination for later.

EDIT: Thank you fallenseeker! I'm touched.

Both of my gut instinct nominations have already been taken.

I will say that Luxx was one of them.

While I had some reservations at first, he being far fonder of Synamic than most of the rest of us, I admit, I had concerns at first that he would object far more to our numerous complaints and run along to tell MK, but I see that he is no toady.

And so I did invite him, to show that I, at least, hold no grudges against Synamic or even MK. I believe that it is possible to disapprove of a person's actions without necessitating a constant resentment. I do hope that those of us who are still irritated have our fun quickly and let bygones be bygones. We're no longer part of the guild, why dwell on it. It's not something I want to be associated with, and so I prefer to be done with it and have no further ties to said guild owner, positive or negative.

I do appreciate his knack for neutrality and think that it would serve everyone well in the future.
Thank you Luxx, for your unbiased stance, whether you accept the nomination or not.

Those of you who have agreed to accept nominations, or nominated yourselves, I am touched that you wish to have a part in such a new guild. I am hoping that this is a good sign for the future.

All of that said, I will hold of my nominations until we have received a few more.
