-How to make a good Role Play thread-

Rules:

-with rules you must be specific about them or hell breaks loose and things go wrong.
-Don't put so many that everything is restricted! say for example you say "no kissing... Well thats fine, but everyone wants a little romance, so "Kissing must be Pg 13" is a good way to start and if they're going to get sexual, "take it to the PMs" alright!? great.
-remember the guild rules as well as the gaia rules. They always apply, no matter what!
-Always...and always remember NO God moding!

Guidelines:

-here's where you can get creative.
-you can either help the role player by helping them learn how to rp, or telling them what you're looking for in this rp, simple, it doesn't need to be long at all!
- try to be literate at least...who wants txt talk anyways?
-It's always good to tell people to write out their sentances and whom their talking to. Just like writing a story thats what you're doing in a thread, unless its OOC (out of character) which in a rp you might want to use (( )) <--those brackets to show that you're not talking as your character.

Story:

-this should always be at the top of your first post, I mean like, come on, thats what gets the people to join your rp, not the rules (xD)
- Make it literate! Like you were describing it as if it was a description from the back of a novel, but let the description include that people make their own journey through it all
- have fun, dont forget to include the world, the time period, and the main character (hopefully yourself at first). There can be more then one, but its good to lead people first then to let them do their own thing...I dont mean tell them what they should do.

Setting (optional but recommended):

-Great thing about this is, you can make your own world, or set in during our world with a bit of a twist (^.~)
-always name your world, contenants, and if you want, you can put a small picture to show where everyone could start or how the place looks like, then expand on the setting!

Character profiles:

-under here you want to make a character profile sheet where they can send you their character and you can put it in either your first post or make a second post calling it "character profiles" (obviously) so others can see who and what characters are active.
- I recommend that people...well tell the thread leader that they either are leaving or want their character to be removed.
- the basic profile usually looks something like this:

your name:
character name:
age:
appearance(description or image):
bio (keep it short):
personality(keep it short):
weapons (optional...usually they're in fantasy rps):

And Remember To Tell Them To Have Fun!

This should be a sticky if anyone cares to read it.

If I were you I would follow these little steps because it really does help you in the end! I came up with these rulesand to be honest, they do work like a charm!

Thank you Zack for putting them up!
