Well, I was on a thought rage the other day, and I came to this question:
Are there any "evil" people in the world?
What are your theories on this? What do you think about "evil" in general?

there are no "evil" people, just people with tainted minds that have been corrupeted by the simple things growing up.

In my opinion, no. But I don't believe there are good people either. Yin and Yang. I consider myself a good person, but PURELY good? No. No one can be purely good or evil. Are there people who's intentions are mostly bad? Sure, I suppose that's possible. What I've noticed though, is that people don't usually do many evil deeds, they usually just do one, which gets them in jail or killed. Or they are of ill heart and are just nasty to people in general. But from what I've experienced, people who are flat out mean have usually been shown only the negative side of the world, or they are so blinded by a few bad incidents that they can no longer see any good, making them what we would consider to be "evil." But do I think a person is born bad? No, just as I don't think they were born good. People's perspectives are formed as they grown and learn from different experiences, and their actions don't define what kind of person they are. More how they feel.

Ying yang, it all makes sense, one way to explain good and bad, evil and angelic...neh...to me, one way or the other, evil will happen, and sometimes (in most cases) it takes over the best of us...one way or the other.

Hmm, evil people? Thats interesting....I would say evil is another word for bad or sinful. But not to the extreme. Like come on, just because someone did something bad, that doesnt make them evil...it depends on how bad the situation or what it was that they did, to make it "evil" I dont know, I agree with the ying and yang thing.
Without one or the other the universe is not balanced. Its like so many things..like without green, red could not function so well as a complimentry color on its own...get it? I'm just saying you need one to complete the other...
Evil is such a strong word...><;

I believe that there can be evil people. For instance psycho murders. I don't believe this is the norm and there are murders and the like that are not completely bad or evil but there is a small group of people that are beyond extreme.
I use to think that like street people were bad until I started working with a charity that helps kids get off the streets and found that there are reasons for what they do and a lot of them are really interesting and cool. Some are really brilliant. You just never know.

there are differnt kinds of evil but if you mean in the terms of being bad, then yes, all people are not good, well actualy no one is perfect and we all do make mistakes. Evil though is a commplicated word, for its more powerful than just bad, but as far as evil goes I dought there are evil people out there, maybe bad people that have taken to their dark troubled mind that have created one or more sins. But then again anything is possible

Bad...is..bad? Anyways I think it would be interesting to be bad for a day...you know, get in trouble...stuff like that ^^; of course thats the rebel in me that wants to get out..hey Zack, can I join that rp and be a "bad" character XD lol

Well I'll get it back on topic with my perspective XD
I don't believe that good or evil people exist at all. Posibly even not good or evil deeds, only differing perspectives. Even serial killers or whatever would have to have a reason for doing so, otherwise they wouldn't think to do it (one plays a game because they are bored, if they aren't bored they wouldn't play for example). We who don't understand it say it is evil but it's not necesarilly since they don't see it as evil.

Well... it all depends on the definition. According to Dictionary.com...
Evil:
1. Morally bad or wrong; wicked: an evil tyrant.
2. Causing ruin, injury, or pain; harmful: the evil effects of a poor diet.
3. Characterized by or indicating future misfortune; ominous: evil omens.
4. Bad or blameworthy by report; infamous: an evil reputation.
5. Characterized by anger or spite; malicious: an evil temper.
n.
1. The quality of being morally bad or wrong; wickedness.
2. That which causes harm, misfortune, or destruction: a leader's power to do both good and evil.
3. An evil force, power, or personification.
4. Something that is a cause or source of suffering, injury, or destruction: the social evils of poverty and injustice.
I think I'll highlight number 3 and 5 of the first column.

Now... with that, I'll tell you what I think.
I believe there are evil people in this world. There are people who are sadistic (from which my point of view is very evil), who enjoy watching others in pain, and will do horrible things for their own guilty pleasure. Inhumanity, torture, slaughter... These actions I think are evil. However, the number of these people is small, so I'll describe to you another type of evil.
As definition 3 states, characterized by or indicating misfortune, I will focus my main point. People who do bad deeds aren't evil if a motive is proven for revenge, or something of the sort. It isn't that they are evil, no, the are suffering evil misfortune. The people I believe are evil are the ones who do nothing to change those victims.
If one sits by, and lets someone with evil rage do what they will without intervening, this is evil. Knowing lives are at stake, and this person is unstable, yet doing nothing to prevent said actions is purely wicked, and inhumane.
...And those are my thoughts.
