You've heard of J.K. Rowling, Nora Roberts, and Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkein, and Tom Clancy. Hell, I bet you've even heard of Dan Brown. But do you recall James Patterson at all?
James Patterson is most notably responsible for the following: ~Alex Cross (Along Came a Spider; Kiss the Girls; Jack & Jill; Cat & Mouse; Pop Goes the Weasel; Roses are Red; Violets are Blue; Four Blind Mice; The Big Bad Wolf; London Bridges; Mary, Mary; Cross; Double Cross) ~Women's Murder Club (1st to Die; 2nd Chance; 3rd Degree; 4th of July; 5th Horseman; 6th Target) ~Maximum Ride (The Angel Experiment; School's Out Forever; Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports) ~When the Wind Blows and The Lake House (the basis for MR) ~Honeymoon (with Howard Roughan) ~Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas ~And several other books. In fact, he has about forty different book titles and counting. "The three biggest lies in the world are: All I want is a kiss, The check is in the mail, and I'm with the FBI and I'm only here to help." ~~~ from The Big Bad Wolf
With those simple yet everlasting words, I will now shut up and let y'all discuss Patterson's amazingness. Discuss favorite novels, series, characters, etc.!The Official James Patterson Website!James Patterson on Wikipedia!

Eh, never really liked that series. It's, in my opinion, more of a children's book (even though, via interviews, Patterson has stated his targeted audience is the teen community of readers). The plot started out okay, but then (again, in my opinion) started to get lame, almost inane. I completely lost interest, and I never liked any of the characters.
Now I could go on and on about the Alex Cross series... Kyle Craig... <333
Grr, I heard he comes back in Double Cross! I have so much Christmas shopping to get done and school things to pay for! And my mom insists I wait until paperback. Pffffttt!!! I laugh at her.

Alex Cross is just a profiler (though very seldom do people in actual law enfrocement use the term) fighting crime for the DC police force. That's all there is to it. They're adult books with the occasional sex scene in it. If you're mature enough, you can handle it. (As an amateur writer myself, I promote the use of sex if it goes directly to character development. Sex and rape are two different things in my mind.) It's a very good series. There were two movies made, but they don't stick exactly to the book-- Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls. It's very good if you love mystery/thriller novels. He has a way of keeping people guessing until the very end with the clever last-minute plot twists.

Along Came a Spider
The daughter of a Hollywood actress (Maggie Rose Dunne) and the son of the Secretary of Treasury (Michael Goldberg) are kidnapped by Gary Murphy/Soneji. He buries them alive at an abandoned farm. At the same time, Cross is slowly falling in love with Secret Service Agent Jezzie Flannagan, who failed to protect Maggie Rose and Michael. After a ten million dollar ransom, the trail of events continues to lead up to Gary Soneji. Soneji, who has had a terrible childhood, wants to be someone famous and top the Lindbergh kidnapping. When Cross begins to become a peeve to his plans, he garners the urge to kill his family. When Soneji is captured and sent to prison, there’s only one more person left to contend with.
(Some bad synopsis I just came up with for the first Alex Cross novel...)

I come to unite! I've read a decent amount of the Alex Cross books, and while Patterson not my favorite, he knows how to keep me guessing.

I am a huge fan of the Cross novels and also The Womens Murder Club! I am so glad to see that there are more fans of Patterson out there.

In all honesty, I really created this thread to get away from the MR fantards. Sonofabitch, they get annoying after some time.
@themightyfelixone: Aha, I just started reading Third to Die today in Spanish. Sure, I should be paying attention to verb conjugations, but a WMC novel is so much more interesting. DON'T SPOIL IT!
@Giniku Hoshi: While the Women's Murder Club series is good in its own respects, I personally believe that Patterson's Alex Cross series are the books of his most worth while.

Hey, he breaks out! Yaddayaddayadda!" I punched him in the face. XD

I've never even read the WMC series. Why did you assume that's what I was talking about?
