So yeah, I don't know what to think of the world right now.

On the one hand, I got a big box of awesome stuff from my mom today. On the other, my sewing machine randomly decided to stop working right when I needed it to hem my dress for a wedding in three days.

Stupid balance. mad

And yet I am calm.

I also have a pomegranate that I've been wanting to eat for days, but I haven't had the time to just sit idly and eat it without making a mess all over my drawings for my final review.

I feel like I'm headed toward tl;dr. So talk about cats or something.

This feels very stream of consciousness to me. I ********' hate Virginia Woolf.

I just want to say that I find it very exciting that you not only own a sewing machine, but that you know how to use it and do!

My machine is also not working. I sent it home to my parents and told them I wanted it fixed for Christmas.

Did you make the entire dress, or are you just altering it to fit?

I've never eaten a pomegranate.

I have two cats at home. I miss them, I'm excited about seeing them when I go home for the new years. I can't wait to move out of this ******** dorm and into an apartment or something. I want my cat.

I'm not as good as my sister, but I can on occasion make my sewing machine churn out things that look a little like what I see in my head. lol They're still a bit of a magical mystery to me though - how do the threads from the top and bottom magically tie into knots and hold the thread together? xD That's probably why I don't know how to fix it. It's not picking up the bobbin thread, and I can't figure out why.

I suppose I'll be making a trip to Sears sometime after Christmas ._. more than likely not before. Damn finals. Damn my friend for having her wedding in the middle of my finals (but not really, I still love her, she's just insane. Dec. 15 is a terribly time for pretty much everyone).

Oh, and I didn't make the whole dress. Didn't have time to do it all. I /was/ making the couple a quilt as a wedding present, but that's not going to be ready in time to take along either...

Also, the continuation of the story: I decided to shorten it by hand. Long story short, I somehow managed, then tried it on. Took a little tugging and tucking, but I got it to hang right. Excellent, I'm done. I go to take it off - zipper is stuck. My boyfriend and I spent half an hour trying to get it to move. >.< Nothing. I was able to squeeze out of it, but the zipper is still broken. Any idea how to fix those without totally replacing it?

Pomegranates are pretty exciting, you should try one if you get the chance. Lots of little tiny pieces to munch on.

There's a kitty at my mom's house, but I can't claim him since I'm only there a few months out of the year. My apartment is a no pet zone - big mistake, don't ever fall for that one. I'm moving in May, and my boyfriend is abandoning me for grad school, so damn it I'm going to get a kitten to cuddle with. mad

I've tried to sew several times and I stink at it. The Machine is just collecting dust in the garage now. xD

I have two cats. We've had them for 5 months now. ><;

-hands kitty to Maramas- Have a Kitty xD

I do not know how the magic of the sewing machine works either. I just zip, zip, zip my fabric though and hope it doesn't snarl.

I couldn't imagine making a wedding dress from scratch! (Could you?) I had to work on one for when we did Sound of Music. By working on it I mean make it not look like a scary 80's dress from hell.

Zippers are a pain in the a**. I don't know how to fix one beyond ripping it out and replacing it. I did recently learn how to make a really long zipper short though. Not that that helps you in any way.

I went into the caf on campus today for lunch. They had pomegranates from some strange reason, not something they have ever had before to my knowledge. Sadly they were all gone by the time I got up there and only prunes were left.

I told my boyfriend that when we get an apartment after I graduate, we will move into the one that allows pets. Even if it is the shittiest apartment we soon.

o: A kitty! *pets*

I actually find hand sewing a lot easier in most cases, it just tends to take longer (depending on what you're doing). Machines are complex, esoteric monsters.

Oh man, when I was younger (like 10) I wanted to make my wedding dress, because I always saw really ugly ones on tv and in movies. But now that I actually sew things more complex than pincushions, I'm going to have to back out of that one.

I got a new zipper today, so I'm just going to replace it and hope that works. I looked up ways to fix zippers, most said to lubricate it, which didn't help (I tried both soap and chapstick). Oh wells. $200 not well spent.

Ewie, prunes ._. Actually, I've never eaten a prune, so I can't really say that.
