Yesterday was a big "That's it! I am selling something so that I can get the WTF HAT YAR D:<" day. I went through my inventory and figured that the best thing I could do was sell my Oculus Magica, since it is worth a bit more then the current wtf hat price.
I was talking about my situation with one of my (now) very close friends from gaia and he did backflips to make me not do it. I told him I didn't want him spending his gold or items on me, or wasting any of his time or anything but he insisted. He went and made threads and sigs for donations. From my personal experience from oh so long ago I never got donations so I was skeptical, and again I did not want him wasting his time.
I definitely was not expecting to come home to an anonymous gift that contained the wtf hat. I am still in disbelief. I do not even know who was kind enough to give it to me so that I can thank them forever. For someone to give it to me without knowing who I was without even taking credit, I was so surprised that someone did that for me.
I am still very taken aback by the gesture.

I get presents only around my b-day, which was a couple of weeks ago. Most of the presents I got were from my gf anyways, with the money I gave her for her b-day two weeks before mine.

I've got the items I need. Most of my gold is given away in donations or contests.
I gave the december birthdays (The ones that posted to say they were - in one of the SD threads) an anonymous gift from their wishlist. I offered gold so that people could join the christmas contests. It's just what I do. So I don't understand people being so surprised when they get something. Don't more people like giving?
So don't say you never get anything, because you might yet. Of course, if you DO say, 'no one ever gives me donations' I'm less likely to prove you wrong.

Never had someone just give me something like that, but I know I shocked my friend when I gave him Demonic Anklets.
Another person (who'd be questing the fire flower for a while) got an anonymous donation from me.
For a while, I stalked the charity forum, giving out anonymous donations.

Around Halloween I gave a friend the whole cat costume anonymously with "creepy" messages for the purpose of scaring her. For example the bell collar had the message "so my kitty doesn't get lost".
But I got busted by another friend who I told my trick to and was tracked down by my friend. sweatdrop Guess she didn't appreciate my joke as much as I thought she would

Ffaux, I'm not exactly interested in charity anyway. I'm of very limited means, but that doesn't mean I need people's money.

I got my demon anklets from one of my closest friends after I first met her. The very first day I posted in that thread, she randomly gave them to me as a gift. Granted, they weren't worth as much at the time, but it was still a surprising gesture, since I had only met her about an hour earlier.

O_O Does she do art for other people or just friends? That's probably one of the best pieces of avatar art I've ever seen on this site.

I've gotten small gold donations before. And a couple years ago when I was saving up for a nitemare bustier (back when they were worth 20k), someone gave it to me for half the price. And once I got my friend a donation letter, because she liked the Lond character. >.>

Exotica the Grotesque I've gotten small gold donations before. And once I got my friend a donation letter, because she liked the Lond character. >.> Oh, yeah, I had the the cats, and all sorts of other items before they started going up like crazy, and as soon as they did start going up in value I gave them to people who couldn't afford them. It gave them the items they needed and a little gold to fall back on if they decided they didn't want them.
