As we all know (excepts for some noobs out there) there is a speculation that no clone characters will be returning to the next series in "super smash bros brawl". In melee we have several clones like:
arrow Falco
arrow Ganandorf
arrow Young Link
& arrow Dr.Mario

These clones are alternate playing styles for different players out there, for example:
Fox is too fast and doesn't have enough strength to match the players fighting style so he uses Falco because he has the same moves as Fox except's some of them are more "edgy" if you can say.

I made this thread for you to discuss if you think clones should be put in brawl with the same moves as before, with a different fighting style and specials, Or should they be destroyed completely.

It depends on who it is.
If It's someone like Ganondorf and Young Link who can be changed and given a Brand new moveset and a makeover, then let them return. They deserve it for being screwed out of an actual moveset.
But If It's someone like Pichu or Dr.Mario, who have no moveset potential to make a new moveset, then they can go crawl in a pit and never come out. There's no point in having a wasted character spot, when they could just be a new costume.

I would like to see them all return, but they all be altered as well, just like Luigi was when he converted from 64 to Melee. He was a Mario clone in 64, but they altered him enough to make him unique again in Melee. That's what I'd like to see happen with Roy, Falco and Dr. Mario. Pichu, Ganondorf, and Young Link I think could all get entirely new movesets, save for some similar moves.

Pichu - there are many different attacks that pokémon can do, all it takes is grabbing some from a list. Also, get rid of the self-damaging feature, or at least reduce it by a LOT.

Ganondorf - Ganondorf was a disgrace in Melee. None of his moves actually resembled what he's capable of. The man has a sword for starters, plus the thing where shoots that ball of electricity. There was no excuse in making him a Falcon clone.

Young Link - The only 3D Zelda title where this version (meaning non-Cel Shaded) is the star throughout the entire game is Majora's Mask. As such, this is where his move set should be based. Undoubtably, he'll keep similar weapons like the boomerang or the bow, but where Young Link could shine is his down B. Let Young Link be like Zelda/Sheik or Pokémon Trainer, and let his down B make him don the Deku mask, where his new moveset is now altered. Down B again makes him don the Goron Mask, and again the Zora Mask. Once more and he's human Link again. There's not even any debate in that his Final Smash would be Fierce Deity Link.

I agree with the main character position that your leaning for an having them for an alternate would be a great idea to keep the fans from being pissed about taking them from the game.

If they decided to use mask then they could make him about the most unique character in the game, it would be interesting playing with him to because each mask has different ability's and playing with deity link again would be a punch in the face to link fans.

Pichu- Take your pick. TMs/HMs have never been used, so count those out, and anything that would be useless obviously isn't a good choice. That leaves very few moves. Pichu Also needs a unique final smash, so good luck with that.

I think they should, but not MANY
I would appreciate Falco making a return, even if he was a clone
Hell, Sakurai might have done the Lucas update just to be a b*****d and make us think Ness is gone

Sakurai is a odd man, they have a samurai goroh assist trophy but captain falcon isn't announced yet and hopefully he will still be in, and for all we know Sakurai is just making use wait. :/

Goroh is an AT. It's ratehr different, and he never stated that Cptn. Falcon isn't returning. All we can really do is hope Sakurai comes to his senses and puts Ness in.

What would really make him an odd man

Was if he doesn't put mother ******** Geno in there
But there is something I understand
If Geno is (and hopefully will be) in brawl. He might not be part of the Subspace Emissary. For three main reason
I am well aware that he is 'Apparently' third party, I'm still not sure. However to get the ok from SquareEnix or to let Nintendo borrow the rights to Geno. They would have to go through some paperwork.
This being the case. The list for wanted characters were not made into brawl for SOMETIME after the game was fairly finished. Thus they would not implement a very wanted character into the Subspace Emissary, even though he would fit perfectly. So most likely he will be unlocked someway else, and since he's such an awesome and loved character, he would be near to the last unlockable
...
Or Geno was planned to be in Brawl long before that and IS part of the Subspace Emissary
Does that paragraph make sense? xD

Belive me, he's in.
Sakurai KNOWS how awesome Geno is.
Also, as proof that Geno is 1st party, let me tell you this.
SMRPG has been confirmed to be coming to VC.
Now read this article from Nintendo power:
CONSOLE QUERIES
Q: I was wondering if Secret of Mana was coming to the Virtual Console soon. I remember playing that game when I was 4 or 5 years old and I didn't really care about the story. But now that I'm older I can probably get into the story much better, not to mention actually finish the game). I've never really liked Turn based RPGs, which I don't think Secret of mana was. If I remember correctly, the game was really well made, and just great overall. Also, Maybe you could revisit Secret of Mana in your playback section, because I can imagine other people liked this game as much as I did. Any Help you can give me about this would be appreciated. Thank you and keep up the good work.

A: You're memory serves you well-Secret of mana was excellent, indeed. Square Enix hasn't announced plans to launch any of their titles on the Virtual Console, so you'll have to wait (or dig out your snes).
