Some people expressed some confusion to this term. So, let me explain it real quick.
"Connections" is a rule I've used in some of my previous RPGs and some of my friends have as well. It says "You cannot connect your attacks to its target, as long as that target is a playable character." For instance, if my character Angnair was attacking Kaki's character... "Kaki," he wouldn't be able to connect his attack. It would look something like this:
**What to do**
----My Post--------
(Angnair) *takes a swing at Kaki with his Keyblade*
---------------------
-----Kaki's Post----
(Kaki) *pulls back and dodges the attack*
---------------------
**What NOT to do**
----My Post--------
(Angnair) *takes a swing at Kaki with his Keyblade and slashes his chest, sending him to the ground*
---------------------
In the last example, I connected my attack by "slashing Kaki's chest and sending him to the ground." This is a prohibited action. Where as, in the first example, I told everyone what my character was doing, but I didn't tell them what happened to Kaki. He told everyone his reaction. This is the correct action.
The reason I've done this in the past is because some people like to abuse the system. They try to make their character look better than anyone else and be invincible by obliterating the other characters. Not that I thought you guys would do that, but this rule helps avoid some confusion and hurt feelings. Thats why I've always made it a rule of thumb for RPGs that I do to disallow connections.
I really don't care if you do connections on NPC characters or even post for them. They're NPCs and they're just there for fun and story development. If you don't know who's an NPC and who's a playable character, refer to the Character Sheet posted in the Character Bios forum or just as the person.
I also wanted to as everyone if they want to use this rule or not? Is it too confusing and constricting? Or does it make things more fair and make sense? I can go either way, so whatever works for you guys.
Hope this clears up some confusion.
