Working in retail, I get my grubby little employee discount havin' hands on all sorts of great t-shirts that really don't fit me at all.

And one fabulous chick like me can't just leave that delicious Johnny Cash or Dethklok tee all boxy and boyish, can I?

Here's some links to some really helpful t-shirt surgery sites.

Post some of your own inventions if you can. I know a lot of you are sewers.
Help us out, kiddo. biggrin

Oooh, I know the perfect book for all your alternative crafters out there. I got it for super cheap at the student bookstore on campus, is was on the discount table, so I don't know if everyone will find it for a good deal. Unfortunately, it's back at the dorm, and I'm home for Christmas, but as soon as I get my hands on it again I'll post the title. I do remember that the folks whose crafts went into it are all people who sell their hand-made wares at Bazaar Bizarre

Edit: Aha! A picture of the book is located at the website. xD

Silly, you can't have a craft thread without mentioning Craftster.org!

Oh boy, sewing and crafting is the best thing anyone with style could do. I'm still learning how to use a machine, and I botch up a lot of things, but at least I have hope that I wont always have to clothe myself with whatever I can find in stores and on ebay. Once I learn well, I want to be pushing out retro style dresses and aprons like it's nobodies business!

I make most of my lolita outfits, and I even made a lolita winter coat, but I don't think it would fit here sad ...

I'm hopeless at sewing, despite taking a great many classes. I once made a (in retrospect quite silly) pirate outfit including an exceedingly complicated vest. Haven't done much since then, but that tshirt surgery looks AWESOME, especially considering there's a great band tshirt place near here that doesn't sell anything small enough for me. biggrin

I did promise you all that I'd take a picture of my Sally costume once it snowed. I think I'll paint myself up tomorrow evening and post the pictures here. That one was fun to make, though I did notice that I need to take it in.
I also made a pirate coat, and once I can get my hair looking decent you can see that one as well.
I've got two shirts under the knife currently, god knows when I'll stop drawing and get back to those things.
I couldn't help myself and bought one of the least hideous Fall Out Boy shirt I could find, and it happened to be on sale. However, it also happens to be that awful man-shape and will be corrected!

I find the hardest thing to fix on boy shirts is the collar. Most times for me the shirt image is too near the collar to make it sexyfuntimes.

yeah, i usually just cut the collar out completely right above the image. Off the shoulder= sexy.

I have a sewing machine, but its quite a bit older than me, and no one knows how to thread it. xD

That's like my sewing machine. My mom doesn't even remember how to thread it half the time. Plus it weighs about 20 pounds. >.>
