Aw, that's sweet.

I personally... do not think that empathy really is a true ability. I mean, by watching one's behavior and actions, anyone can tell how someone is feeling. It's all impromptu. Of course, I also say this because I've never had anyone show me what they mean, or been proven that it really exist. As one of our own US Supreme Court Justice, Benjamin Cardozo, once said, "We may try to see things as objectively as we please. Nonetheless, we can never see them with any eyes except our own."

Once again, although I do not believe in this such talent, I think the realization and evolution of the ability is one thing that ensures our differences between humanity and other beings of nature. I believe we are all spawn from the same thing, yet made differently for unknown purposes. A friend of mine once said... "Over millions of years, presumably, beings have changed from one thing to another. Large reptilian creatures have changed into smaller, more elite forms of the same reptiles... But I see it this way: A dog will never change into anything other than a dog, and if it does, it wasn't meant to be." In this sense... I disagree as well with this person's beliefs in nature as well with views of animals being equal with humans. I'm one of those "ignorant" minds that believes, yes, we are higher than other animals, most likely from something that was never meant to be. With another quote, this time from Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, "I am an optimist about our species. I assume God is, too, for otherwise He would have scrubbed us off the planet a long time ago and would have started over."

I don't mean to sound at all stubborn, close-minded, or offensive, but I don't agree with much in this at all. So... as usual...
