One of our fellow guild members requested I post some of the Wiccan teachings in this forum, so here I go.
First, I would like to say that Witchcraft/Wicca is NOT satanism. We do not serve the devil, the pentacle is not an evil symbol (it's actually a sign of protection and the sign of Venus), and we do not place "curses" on other people.
Witches (yes, we are called Witches) are polytheistic. In other words, we believe in more than one god/dess. While there are many Gods and Goddesses, there is one kind of "main" being. Mother Nature. If it weren't for Mother Nature, we wouldn't exist, and we wouldn't have food, water, air, resources.
We believe in reincarnation, and this is where my own beliefs kind of merge, but I'll keep strictly Wiccan for now razz And think about it, for all you know, this could be your 27th life! I find that intriguing ^_^
There are a few "Rules" of Wicca. One, drugs and alcohol don't mix with Witchcraft. When you cast spells, you're in a circle of protection of power (that is, if you choose to cast it. Tis a very good idea if you do) and you want to be completely clear-headed when you cast. Also, killing animals is also not something Witches do. Every life form is a daughter or son of Mother Nature. Imagine if your son/daughter was just murdered because someone was scared of them!
That's another thing, you cannot cast curses on people. It doesn't work like that. You also cannot make someone love you, or make anyone do anything. There are love spells, yes, but they're only to "ask" that person if they like/love you, and the answer will come in time with the moon. Spells are mostly for self-esteem. A spell to a Witch is a prayer to a Christian.
A lot of Wicca may sound like stupid hocus pocus with the whole "with this spell done come harm to none" and other sayings that put a spell into action, but it works only if the time is right and you are worthy of the result.
If you all have any questions, feel free to ask here smile

(( I tried to respond last night, but my net was buggy. Sorry! ))

This intrigues me very much. I've always been interested in polytheisms...

Riencarnation is a great principle. It's such a wondrous idea to believe in, and it explains many things for instance like... any talents you may posses may have come from a past life. Wonderful idea.

I love the idea of Mother Nature and her children. I got to thinking about it, and when you think in that way it helps one realize that we are all very small in this little blue rock.

The comparison you used with Christians and Spells makes a lot of sense to me. It only ties in the ideal belief of mine that all religions stem from one main root.

I have a question for you. I'd like to know a little bit about rituals, or practices, for casting spells. Perhaps you could even include a spell you cast regularly, or something that you find common. Also... I once saw something on Discovery Channel. It was about haunted houses... but that's beside the point. One of the people on the show was a Wiccan, and he had certain candles that did things. Could you tell me more about that?

Well, spells and castings are usually done in a circle you cast, or in a sacred place of your own. You don't really need any kind of components to cast, but if you do they do tend to work better. One spell that I have used is kind of cheesy, but it works. It's called the un-ground me spell. Just one of those for fun things, and it only works if you've actually learned your lesson. You take a frisbee and spin it clockwise on your index finger chanting "Let me loose, let me out, spin around and twirl about. Sentence lifted, spirit gifted, grounding over without a doubt!" until the frisbee falls.
I know, sounds childish right? It works xD

There are several other spells that are more common, but they tend to get a little complicated. A lot of spells have to be done at a certain moon phase on a certain day of the week (which is why it tends to help a bit if you have a wiccan almanac).

As for the candles, there is such a thing as Candle Magick. Each candle has a certain trait, like red is love, blue is protection, green is prosperity, etc. I would name off more, but my book seems to have disappeared...
Say if you were going to cast a "do you love me?" spell. You would take a red candle, that person's picture or a piece of paper with that person's name on it, and then carve into the candle "____, do you love me?" or something to that effect.
