((Rashida now has a personality (sorta) and a bit of background history in her journal: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=7234295#138354996 ^^; It was a bit hard for me, she was a semi-custom and while that's awesome, it also means she had no background or family or anything. This will be my first RP with the pack. I'm leaving it open but I believe my mission (as was explained to me in PM) is to reconnect with Tahu. Anyways, I'm open to suggestion and (re)guidance))The Mpizani lands were secluded between two large mountain peaks. If it were not for her fateful encounter with Tahu, she would not have been able to find the hidden entrance. When she finally reached the lands it was almost overwhelming for her. It was a mix of sights, sounds, smells, and emotions. She felt relief that her journey was over and paused to drink from the stream running down the mountainside. Then she remembered she was she as her pink reflection stared back at her. Exploring the land for the first time, she noticed there was not any large prey to be found in the valley. This did not bother her too much since she had lived off small ground birds and rabbits for as long as she could remember. At least here, there would not be competition for the food, and instead togetherness. The thought made her smile, however briefly. It was rare for Rashida to ever smile. It felt so unnatural to her. She had gone through the first half of her life with so much hardship that her lines on her face had grown downward instead of up. When she did smile, the black lines on her face twisted and turned into new patterns. She looked again into the clear water trying to force a smile. The image bouncing back at her looked more like an angry dog baring it's teeth, than a warm friendly smile. She frowned again and gave up resuming her long drink after her hard journey.

Crossing the pack lands seemed to grow more and more daunting each passing moon. The piebald female stopped by the stream, taking a moment to rest as she looked out over the lands. This was home, this was where she belonged.
And she knew, this was not where her son belonged. She'd learned that. Her cousin's widowed mate, though... He DID belong here. She flicked her ears a bit, listening to the sounds of the creatures about.
Turning her gaze, she watched the other dog. Cushti Bok observed many, and all. It was her job, she was the storyteller. One day, this was a story that would pass down to the next generation. Rising wearily, she padded over with a smile. "Hi... You must be the new dog... I'm Cushti Bok."

Rashida lifted her eyes to meet the other dogs' stopping mid sip, water dripping from her face. She smiled again for a moment before feeling her muscles ache. "Nice to meet you." She bowed, lowering herself before the piebald female.
"Yes, I am rather new." Rashida replied. "I learned of your pack when I ran into Tahu. It seemed... interesting."
Rashida was grateful for conversation, but she was so inexperienced that nothing seemed to come to mind. She frowned for a moment trying to think of what to say.
"Nice day today, eh?" Rashida asked. She was sure she probably sounded like a fool unable to do anything more than make small talk.

Tahu had been wandering around the boarders of the Mpinzani lands, waiting for the new arrivals that he had made friends with on his travels. There were at least two more he was expecting, but when and where he was unsure. However, be it chance, or good timing, or by the ovbious choice that this post would go nowhere without this meeting, Tahu came upon two dogs. One, was of his pack, the other was bright pink and a friendly aquaintence!
"Rashida!" Tahu called over, his tail set off wagging. Good! She had found her way here! It was difficult if one didn't know that it was here in the first place. He wandered up happily on the pair, and nuzzled his friend, then nodded to his pack mate. "Hello, Cushti Bok."
But, he turned back to Rashida. "Its so nice to see you! You will be staying, yes?"

Rashida smiled briefly, a genuine smile before her face muscles got tired. Her tail continued to wag long after the smile had faded from her face.
"Tahu!" she called back to him. "It's good to see you again."
Of course Rashida would be staying, it beat scavenging for bones and scraps on her own. Sure there was no big game, but here was safe, there was plenty of small animals, and not nearly as much competition as the rest of the outside world. And perhaps most importantly, she was no longer alone in the world.
She spun to meet Tahu's gaze. "Nice place you have here, Tahu. How have you been?"

"I've been cery good! It is nice to see my family again. I missed them." He said, still smiling. It was glorious to see Rashida again! And she'd be staying with the pack! It was even better to see his home and family growing again! Soon there would be a feast, and a celebration of how the pack has grown, Tahu couldn't wait.
"Did you have any trouble finding the lands? We're pretty hidden.." Tahu sat down in the grass, a doggy grin spreading widder as he let his tongue lol out panting. It was going to be a hot day today. "Have you eaten lately, dear? You look like you could use a good belly full." Tahu added after getting a good look at his friend. It is hard outside the lands, he had to admit. He had taken a good meal when he got back, surely Rashida would love one too.

Rahsida looked at Tahu's calm inviting expression, a very unsuspecting king. He seemed so relaxed and at ease that she was a bit envious at how he so easily conversed with everyone.
As Rashida began to tell her tale of how she had finally found her way to the Mpinzani lands she was rudely interrupted by a low grumbling in her tummy.
Tahu's talk of food definitely was enticing. "Oh definitely" Rashida finally replied to Tahu, a bit eagerly as her tail wagged with increasing speed and tension. "So what's good around here, what do you recomend?" Rashida asked figuring that Tahu would probably know the best hunting spots better than anyone.

"Well, by the river here is a nice place for smaller game. Hares, and merkats... warthogs too at times. But I already caught something this morning, and I'm more then willing to share." Tahu was grinning, keeping his words short. She'd be used to that by now, he'd never been one to talk too much.
"Just a hare, but its a meal. We'll be going on a hunt soon enough. A new set of pups just came into our pack, and we'll be celebrating their arival, along with all the new dogs." He added, nodding to her. "Lela arived as well. And others have found us." Tahu beamed. His family had broken apart when he was young. A sister lost, a brother run away, a mother who went crazy, and a little brother who disapeared... it was a lot. His mother had returned, and Jaama was here. Now the pack was growing, and it eased the pain of those family members who had left.
"Its just over a ways. I heard you two talking, and came over." Rising back up to his feet, his tale went back to waggin, and he stepped forward again a nuzzled her. "Its so good to see you!" [<3]

((Oops, Drani forgot about this ^^;; *Bad* ))
The piebald female wagged her tail, smiling at the other. "Well, I hope you enjoy being here!" She looked to the sky, watching clouds puff by. "It's a wonderful day indeed..." Her green gaze turned to the new alpha, Tahu, and she bowed her head. "Hello, Tahu." She could see the two quickly occupied and, bowing politely, excused herself. She was getting on in age, and they were still young. In her mind, it was best to leave them to enjoy one another's company. She didn't mind, though. No, Cushti had an idea to help the pack.

Taken aback a little from the lack of physical warmth and contact she'd had in her life, Rashida takes a step back at first before accepting Tahu's warm welcoming nuzzle. Still nervous, her eyes flit over towards the piebald female who's figure is slowly withdrawing further and further away. To Rashida it felt strange, it was perhaps the first physical contact she had had with another wild dog aside from her parents whom she could not even remember. But yet, it was not a bad feeling and Rashida found her tail wagging and instinctively returned the nuzzle.
After what seemed like quite a long time, although in fact it was only a few brief seconds, the nuzzle broke as Rashida willingly accepted Tahu's offer for food. "Thank you, I'd love some food." she managed to say, although it sounded rather stilted as she was not used to kindness, especially not used to others sharing food, which for her was quite often difficult to find much of because of her coat.
Rashida stood looking at Tahu, waiting for him to lead the way.

Tahu nodded goodbye to Cushti bok. She was a kind dog. He turned grinning back to Rashida. "This way, this way." He said softly, then turned on his paws and went lightly down the little slope they accupied. "Just down this way." His tail swayed in the same pace as his words.
"Tell me how your travel was. You took a bit, what kept you? Was it just a bit hard to find us?" Tahu asked as he glanced at the pretty pink girl treding beside him. "It is hard to find us." He repeated.

Rashida listened to Tahu's soft voice and fixed her gaze on his slowly swinging tail as she followed behind him. She lost track of her thoughts for a brief moment as the almost pendulum-like swaying of his tail and calm voice washed over her. There was something very relaxing in the tone of his voice that could put even the anti-social aspects of Rashida's negative mind to ease.
She wasn't aware of the question at first, and continued to walk in silence for a moment. Then it dawned on her what he was asking. "Oh..." She replied, shakeing the almost sleepy like feeling away. "It was a long journey, and with the lions on the other side of the mountain, I had to take care to travel durring the day when their hunters were sleeping. I'm not exactly an easy target to miss. So I tried to stay low to avoid any unnecessary conflict. I followed the river, staying close to it for water and food, but..." Rashida's thoughts trail off for a moment.
"I've always just roamed the lands, and never really had much of a goal in mind. So I guess when it comes to tracking, my nose isn't quite as good as most other dogs. The strong muddy river scent made it difficult to smell other dogs such as yourselves. I was also cautious to avoid claimed territories... but even that was often difficult to smell in the outerlands with the continuous mixture of animal and plant scents. The assualt of smells made it often difficult to even know where I was at the time, as well as difficult to find prey. I ate little and traveled slowly to conserve my energy."
Rashida was often used to going with little to eat, but the long journey had made her even more lank and lean than she already was. She had never traveled this far for such a great period of time, and another soft rumble in her tummy reminded her just how hard her journey had been.

Tahu listened intently as his friend told her story, nodding, and sighing, and furrowing his brow as he heard of her difficulties. But she was here now, and would be staying. And there was plenty to eat here. He nudged her with his shoulder again and said...
"It is hard to find us. Especialy since you had to try and remember what I smelt like to find just the outskirts, and finding the entrance is just a pain. But, you did well, and now it time for you to eat something good." He said, bounding forward a few extra steps with the last words in time. There before him was a small meal of a hare.
"Dig in, dear." He said, smiling broadly, and positioning himself slightly back so his friend could enjoy her first meal in the packlands. "There'll be plenty more later."

Rashida padded over softly to what remained of the hare. Sniffing it and licking it tenatively, her tail began to wag with appreciation. As she bit into the meat, it was still faintly warm. It must still be fairly fresh. Warm meat for her was in fact quite rare as she would often pick the remains of others' kills long after they had been abandoned. She seemed to almost smile as she tore the meat away from the tiny bones. After coming such a long ways, she thought it was the best hare she had ever had.
Finally, feeling her belly calm down, she paused, looking up from the kill, and made her way over to thank Tahu. Although affection was still somewhat new to her, she lowered her head, butting it against the male's chest nuzzling him for a moment as she walked by. This time there was a difference in the way that she carried herself. It was full with energy from the meal and much livelier than earlier. "Thank you, that was delicious." she told him as she pulled away breaking contact.
