Of these genre's which is unquestionably your favorite kind of video game to play?

I do realize that quite a few people here probably don't ascribe to just one sort of Genre so, if that is the case, merely flip a coin or pick the one you feel like more at this particular second. wink

I myself am a devoted follower of strategy games particularly grand strategy. But this does not mean I will not play a good game of starcraft or warcraft on occasion. wink

Next to that I love RPG's and have played many series of them over the years, my favorite being Final Fantasy.

After that would probably be FPS's since I have always liked Halo but do also feel an affinity for those before it. Especially the Medal of Honor games. (I even enjoyed Rising sun quite a bit.)

the rest come in a mishmash, and I probably play a bit of everything except Sports games.

I'm partial to FPS and strategy games, but Spore looks damn cool too! I dunno, I like some racing games too, but RPGs generally frustrate me. I play FPS the most, just cause I occaisionally need some mindless aggression in my day.

seriously! Its why I myself have a copy of Spore on hold. razz I can't wait till it finally gets out! I've been looking forward to creating a planet of Zerglings for two years now. razz and besides I love the idea of a game of Civilization that never ends. smile

What kind of FPS's you usually play? I have to say I am curious, I myself play some halo, think Gears of war is good, but love Medal of Honor, along with Half-life whenever I can get a game in. wink

but I can't blame ya with the mindless aggression, its why I've always enjoyed GTA, and doubtless why many have. razz

Yeah I have GTA 3- San Andreas (4 looks good, but the in-between ones were supposed to be pretty bad), recently I got really into the Punisher (it's kinda old, but great and really hardcore), and the Call of Duty series is one of my favorites. I also love Return to Castle Wolfenstein because it's a classic, I dig Red Dead Revolver too, and the early Medal Of Honor games (I can't really get into the new ones), and I can't help but get addicted to Splinter Cell (even though it's politics are pretty bad) and others like those. My two favorite games though, are Max Payne 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsisdence. I've stopped playing as many video games recently, and haven't bought any in a while. I also only own a PS2 and computer, but I think Halo's pretty cool.

I've played a few video games like Halo and such. Grand theft Auto never really interested me. It was just, pointless to me. But hey sometimes thats the point. I haven't played many other video games than that. Meh step brother kinda killed my liking for playing games with other people unless its an RPG. He won't touch those. Diablo was a favorite of mine when I was younger. My dad played too. But Ame's heart is with RPG's. I guess thats why I love cosplaying too. I'm a D&D player, have been for awhile. My group has finally reformed. I'm so happy to have meh lovely DM back. I play a gnome beguiler with 2 familiars that are way bigger than I. Anyone else a current D&D player? Soon I'll be starting Exalted. Never heard of it before but its related to Ninja Scroll so I'll play it. I'm a fan of Final Fantasy as well. Odin Sphere was quite fun as well. But I won't touch World of Warcraft. I was fun when I played it, but that is all my parents do. Really, thats what they do all day.

I voted for strategy.
Anyone that think Company of Heroes is a great game?

That was probably one of the most capwn comments I've heard in a while xd
Comrade is right.. I too feel like mindlessly kill things, everyday, just to still anger that boils inside.

I really don't understand why people can think playing violent games can be bad.
Better rehabilitation is hard to find.

They think its bad because they need something to blame when things like school shootings happen. But the game is not at fault. It doesn't turn everyone that plays them into crazed killers. Its just the need to find something other than oneself at fault.

It's true, I think that in things like school shootings what should be looked at first is the mental state of the people who did it, from the point of view of the people that knew them. Then what should be looked at should be why they weren't helped, whether it was the parents or the schools or what (one of my friends, way back in the 8th grade developed depression and bi-polar disorder and despite multiple calls from his parents the school ignored it until he had a mental breakdown, he's ok now though), then their treatment by other people and the final question- why was their access to guns and other weapons so easy and why didn't their parents know? Mental disorders aren't something that incopasitate you, and they can be dealt with (for instance-I've battled so to speak with scitzophrenia for much of my life, but therapy, support and modern medicine has made it go pretty much into remission), it's just a problem in this society that they often aren't dealth with.

An awesome strategy game is Command and Conquer!! It is more than just a strategy game, but strategy has ALOT to do with it! smile I own all of them (the Command and Conquer games), but my favorite one to play is (of course) Red Alert! smile I always play as the Russians! Yay!
